I have nothing but good things to say about this chapter!
*whistle* Well, we can now safely assume where Shimmer is getting all of her info.
Very good. I like it so far. It's really a fun little read.
As wonderful as this sentiment is, I do not think this is strictly true, from past evidence.
She doesn't act like all it matters is that she loves him. She acts like it matters how much he loves her. If they are arguing, if she is not getting the affection she desires from him, she goes to another easy source of affection. Given how Shining apparently is so devoted to her that he would suppress his anger at her betraying him (and doing so chronically) because of his love for her, I get the sense that their relationship is one-sided: devotion flows from Shining to Cadence, but not the other direction anywhere near as easily.
I wonder if Shining knew what Twilight said to Cadence... Cadence is still acting a little like it's the first time anyone has told her that cheating hurts those she cares about, and it's a little unnerving. I guess it could be that Cadence is trying to come to terms that she hasn't gotten very much better about not betraying those around her, even though she thought she did after marrying Shining.
Yeah, Twilight needs help with that. I wonder if Flash will suggest Cadance tell Shining about Zodiac?
Love shouldn't be about protection. Protection implies the protected can't defend themselves, that they're less than their protectors. There's a difference between saving and helping, and Shining needs to understand it. He's close to several incredible women. He needs to learn how to stand back and let them be incredible. I'm not saying all of the fault rests with him, but this will be an important step for him.
Also, it looks like security software would be a good investment for the dorm. That, or isolating computers from networks when they don't need to be connected.
Looking forward to more.
Oh man.. i had a thought about who was sending those warnings to them a few chapters ago: what if it was Sunset's shadow?
Wow, WTF?!
Hacking your internet history is one thing, but downright spying people on the sanctuary of their rooms? That's low.
5374684 And inspired by real-life events. A few months back, a teen beauty pageant winner had her webcam hacked remotely. She ended up having to cover the lens with electrical tape.
5374157 Good point, but also consider; if Persona!Shining is anything like Canon!Shining, being the Protector, the shield that saves the people he loves, is the core of his being.
Good on you, Shining!
Glad to see she's acknowledging she has a problem.
... Ow! I mean, I always wondered if Shining felt like this in canon, but geez, that hurt to read.
Mare's got a point. Especially since as Persona 4 has taught me there's no guarantee that the obvious evil is the actual evil.

Again: WTF?!?!
5374899 Welcome to the
real worldvirtual world, where people are evil, cruel, and delight in causing others suffering for their own enjoyment.5374806 I recall another incident awhile back where a school could remotely turn on the web cams on the laptops they rented out to students.
Flash really needs to disable the remote assistance feature on his computer. It would save him a lot of trouble. Of course, the hacker is probably acting through Canterbook, in which case, he needs to disable permissions for data and web cam access.
Something I noticed, and IDK why it bothers me, is that the events of this link take place in the evening, rather than "after school." Wouldn't it make more sense to move on to the "evening" time block when Flash returns to the dorm?
[EDIT: my bad, I see how the thing goes now.]
Hmh. It's my birthday.
Anyways, it's about time that Shining and Flash had some bro time.
A part of me is kinda hoping there'll be a cheesy Hollywood-hacking scene in the future between the Gang and their mysterious assailant, hopefully with multiple keyboards and rapid typing.
