Nice little reunion scene. And being snowed in is a hell of a way to spend Christmas. Hope the power doesn't go out.
Oh, Accidental Innuendo...

Cadance probably hopes the power WILL go out.
Old friends reuniting, and doing so in a way that gets a party member back in time for the next boss fight. I love clever story-gameplay integration.
A somewhat bittersweet day, what with the family issues juxtaposed against Twilight's loving parents, but nothing clears away those bad feelings quite like penis jokes. Apparently.
Hearty reunions and plot convenience too! Happy to see friendship blossom, and looking forward to more.
Waaaaait... They are trapped inside the dorm... This could be bad.
In other news, these heartwarming scenes certainly live up to the term. All this happy encounters and stuff leave me all fuzzy and content. That's sign of an excellent writing work.
5598513 I'm surprised it took him that long. In front of the FAMILY, no less! Do Shining and Cadance ever turn it off once it's on? The only thing missing from the blizzard is Windigos. Also, why do I get the feeling that bad something is going to happen to Rainbow Blaze? (Really hope I'm wrong, he seems cool.)
5598614 I thought about that, about Blaze, but I didn't want to say anything...
5598448 I'm saying don't expect certain things to happen at certain times, because they might not happen when you expect them to.
5598614 You'd get a bad feeling about the dorm being out of mustard.
5598752 I didn't say I expect it, I said that I hope it's the case. I've had a sinking feeling that it's going to happen later than that for a while.
5598762 Thing is, the story isn't thematically (or artificially) broken up into "arcs" with a matching villain/concept the way, say, Tomodachi is. There is a central narrative conceit from which all other plotlines emerge and to which they return. Beyond that, Eris is a character whose presence serves a purpose beyond "Mid-Boss", so her development occurs according to the needs of the characters and the plot, not chapter count or calendar progress.
To put it another way: in Persona 3, what we knew as "the main arc" was composed of the defeat of the Twelve Arcana Shadows. Why those twelve, and what will happen once we win, we don't know, we're just told that it'll end the Dark Hour so we drive towards that goal. This arc was resolved at the onset of the endgame, and so, the identity of the game's primary villain was only revealed after the defeat of Hanged Man (a villain we didn't even know as such until that exact moment, and whom we didn't even get to fight). Likewise, the identity of the
killerkidnapper in P4 was also an endgame threshold because it forced the real killer out into the open, and the end of the Joker and NWO "arcs" in the Persona 2s also led directly to their final dungeons. About the only Persona game that's divided into discrete segments is the first one, but other than Kandori, its "arc" characters were regular ol' JRPG minibosses with zero significance for the main narrative or character development. The timing and circumstances of Eris and Mephisto's revelations have to coincide with not just their character development, but also with the narrative driving them unavoidably to that point. Whoever they turn out to be, they're not in the right place yet, character-wise, to either be discovered or to reveal themselves. But they will be, in due time :)
5598752 That's just mean.
5599074 Maybe a little, but I have no regrets.
5598614 Hmmm... he's not retiring, newlywed or expecting a child. I'd say he's safe.
5598960 Alrighty then. Frankly, that's not much of a surprise for me. Here's hoping that you guys start mixing it up with Eris, maybe go outside the pattern you've fallen into with her.
Edit: To be completely honest, the reason I hoped her identity would be revealed soon is that I think the current setup with her (i.e. alternating between the trash talk while the gang is training and engaging them (or at least Flash) during the Hunter Shadow fights) is getting a bit stale. But that's just me.
God fucking damn it, Sentry.
5599338 Point.
And phrasing firs--dammit!
Good to know where everybody's mind is at.
Why can't I put this story down??? I have been reading what I can as often as I can for the last day and a half...well done sir.
This story is so rich. Like with Harry Potter, I feel like there are a lot of complex relationships and events happening just outside the protagonist's field of vision. That's when you've got a believable world.
Thus begins a nice series of heartwarming slice of life christmas chapters. I think it's great that Twilight's parents knew Rainbow's dad back in college. Another example of being connected before they really met.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot... with high explosive rounds
