Huh, well this is new.... I know Flash fucked up, but Twi really needs to start looking at this from Flash's perspective, I figured Sunset of all people would point that out...
A Twilight perspective chapter? Didn't see that coming. Looks like Twilight isn't taking this any better than Flash is. Good to know she still loves Flash despite breaking up with him, but she needs to start seeing why he did what he did instead of just feeling bad about it and putting all the blame on him. True, he shouldn't have done it at all, but it was partly her fault too.
KO awesome chapters, Flash got Sonata to forgive him but Twilight is gonna be more difficult than the other girls and hope it doesn't get worse like fighting against another monster. I just jinx them, didn't I?

Hmhmhm. Totally agree with you.
Flash f ed up some fierce, but Twilight isn't innocent either
Ok...well this is an interesting dual view thing you've got going, with both sides still hurting and vulnerable.
That said...can we all lay off the "Yes Flash screwed up but Twi isn't innocent either" thing? We've all said it many times in the comments, so does it bear repeating?
Okay, so maybe this instance of Sunset isn't quite as helpful as I'd hoped. At least, not right now. There are plenty of other shoulders in the dorm that Twilight can cry on. I just hope they help ease her towards reconciliation rather than reinforce indignation.
Also, someone get the girl some Vespene gas.
7950545 I'm not sure if this would be a good idea or a bad idea, but would it possibly work if Trixie talked to Twilight about what happened between her and Flash? It might be a bit dangerous for Twilight to talk to the girl Flash used to cheat on her with, but in the LTE version there was an added scene where Trixie told Flash to make up with Twilight before someone got hurt for real. She might be able to reassure Twilight that Flash loves her and regrets what he did, but there is a chance it could backfire.
...damn it Sunset you could've taken it down a notch.
I know sometimes tough love is the best love but she could've been a little more sincere.
7950645 I love it when you "call it" and you're two years behind on this story and I just know everybody is laughing at you.
Probably a good idea to not reply to two-year-old comments and instead focus on catching up.
7950652
Jesus Christ, this story has been going for that long? Time sure does fly, huh...
I don't really agree with the idea floating around in the comments that Twilight needs to see this from Flash's perspective, per se. To me, that suggests that there was some sort of validity to Flash's actions, and I don't think there was. Instead, the question becomes, has Flash done enough good and been a caring enough person to her that she should consider forgiving him? Can Flash successfully convince her and the others to trust him again? Heaven knows they have a good reason not to right now. It's almost scary how easily trust can be broken, isn't it?
It's true that Twilight wasn't being a very good girlfriend recently, and that's something she'll need to face. I suppose there's merit in the idea of her trying to understand why Flash was upset, but some of the comments I've read almost seem to be suggesting that their sins were equal, and I strongly disagree with that.
I wonder what Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle think of all this? They were still trying to get used to the whole "Flash having two girlfriends and also he slept with most of the dorm" thing, if I recall correctly. I wonder if they can rationalize the difference between that and what Flash did this time? I wonder if Silver Spoon will play a role in this story again before it ends? She's grown on me in this story. Also, I think it's safe to assume that Scootaloo will never be an important character. Forming and maxing out a social link in this short a time would be a rather difficult thing to sell, narratively speaking. Oh well, I'm not really upset about that. Just making an observation.
I feel like Applejack will be the hardest nut to crack. On the other hand, could be Fluttershy. Or maybe Rainbow Dash. I can see her forgiving him relatively easily, but I can also see her being the longest holdout. Get her mind locked on something, and it can be hard to change it.
In my opinion There REALLY needs to be a chapter where Sunset hears about what's been happening and using what knowledge she has of Flash and go straight up tell Twilight to look at this from Flash's perspective. Sure at first if you don't it seems like he did the most dickish thing in the world, but there are two sides to every story. And to be fair on Flash's side, it's also Twilight's fault too.
Weird, the LTE version of this chapter doesn't show up for some reason or you forgot to upload it?
Please don't kill me.
I don't understand what Twilight did wrong. Also, I really hope Coach punches Flash or is at least seen before this is resolved.
7950524
Well, apparently, because FLASH over here fucking BROKE it.
7950797
Twilight was refusing to trust Flash and snapped at him for going off to a pool party with a bunch of girls without a by-your-leave. Everybody was stressed, she blew it out of proportion(I mean come on, you already know he fucks anything that moves AND that he loves you, no need to flip), Flash went and had sex with Trixie, and the rest is history.
...ugh.
Oh boy, new keyboard leads to so many errors that needed to be corrected.
Also... The fuck is that horoscope?
Like.... What? "You require more minerals"?
7950758 Had a misnamed file. Try it now.
7950852 It works now. Thanks, man.
7950872 Thank YOU for bringing it to my attention. It saved me from derping up the next ten or so chapters.
7950708 Yes. She was also known for being petty and spiteful by Greek God standards, so you know it was bad.
I'm still wondering if there's something deep in the Zodiac that infiltrated Flash's Personas and is messing with his head.
7950893 Looks like I'm going to be the reminder after all.
So now we see what Twilight is doing...which is more than I thought. I thought she was just shoving herself inside her room the whole time. Huh. Though I have to say, I'm honestly surprised Flash hasn't ran into Shining Armor yet, he would definitely take notice of this.
7950663
It's not about her just forgiving what Flash did to her, is about owning up what she did to Flash, which as this chapter reveals, she doesn't even realize she did something bad.
7950663
You need to remember that Twi technically gave him permission to sleep with other girls as long as his heart remains true to her. But then he hung out with a few girls at the pool and she immediately accused him of going behind her back and sleeping with them without any evidence to back it up.
Yes what Flash did was horrible, but Twi's attitude technically pushed him in that direction.
7950663
Iiii'm siding with this comment. Twilight had an irrational and emotional jealous reaction. Flash deliberately and maliciously set out to punish and hurt her by sleeping with someone else. These things are not equivalent, it's like saying someone who calls another person a rude name deserves to get knifed in response and should really think about what they did wrong and try to see things from the aggressor's perspective because maybe they deserved that 6-inch stab wound. Um, how about no?
Retaliation of any kind (even if it's at the same level) is frankly childish and inappropriate and if two people keep hurting each other because they think the other party hurt them first, they probably shouldn't be together. That's what's called a "toxic relationship". A completely disproportionate and malicious reaction is 110% unacceptable and the character straight up lost any and all high ground he had in their previous communication issues when he did that.
7951423
As I recall, Twilight also stipulated that she be made aware of whenever Flash did this. More importantly, was the unspoken implication that he only sleep around within their group. That way he'd be sleeping with someone that was important to both of them. What Flash did violated both of these.
Twilight has not been at her best lately, but she had a good reason for it. Doesn't make her right, but it makes her sympathetic. If memory serves, Celestia talked to Flash about that the night before. And Flash, knowing this, deliberately tried to hurt her anyway. It was a colossal dick move to the extent that he doesn't get to use her behavior as an excuse.
Now, if they want to repair their relationship, Twilight's actions do need to be addressed. Her trust issues are the sort of thing that could strain or even destroy a relationship down the line. However, Flash's vindictive attitude is an even bigger issue, as we've seen.
Alright, seriously Twilight, you gotta chill.
Was Flash an asshole for what he did? Yes he was. Did he deserve the tongue lashing and to be kicked out of the dorm for a bit? Honestly, I think some time away will do him some good.
But the way you're handling this is not cool. Not ONLY is this killing you internally, but to be absolutely honest, YOU'RE partially to blame as well. You didn't trust him, and expected the worst DESPITE everything you've been through! That's not okay, Twilight. You need to wake up and realize that, as harsh as it is, this isn't just about you.
7952333 Honestly, even if Flash did something much worse than her (and ooh boy, he did), she still needs to acknowledge that she wasn't perfect herself, because right now she's behaving as if she did absolutely nothing wrong.
7952952
I thought I'd addressed that. Apologies if I didn't.
Actually, what has me boggled is how they're going to address it without making it seem like Flash is using what Twilight did as an excuse. Seriously, I'm having trouble envisioning what such a conversation would look like. Fortunately, I'm not the one writing this story. You can tell, because I wouldn't have had the guts to make this situation happen in the first place.
7954173 Twilight takes a pretty all-or-nothing view when it comes to blame; if she owns any blame she must per se own all of it. This is not a completely irrational view, either. It's the view underlying the older forms of contributory negligence doctrine, which says if you bear any blame for harm your suffered, you don't get to collect any damages. The idea, in part, is to heavily incentivize people to take good care (the other part is about keeping the tort docket small).
I suspect Moth's building up to a complete one-eighty on her part from righteous self-pity to righteous guilt, followed by both lovers learning a middle ground.
7954245
Huh...that actually sounds pretty clever. Nice thinking.
7954428 Moth's a good enough writer, possessed of a healthy self-direction that lets him disregard the damned comments section's desire to Stick It To the Girl, that I'm willing to be generous with my predictions. I'm normally much more doom-and-gloom.
7954428
7954458 I'm honestly just ignoring all the back-and-forth and letting you guys have at it.
7954472
Fair enough. I came into this assuming you know what you're doing, anyway. I only started talking because I felt the Twi-blaming was overblown.
On a completely unrelated note, is it weird that I keeping picturing Sci-Twi while reading? I have to keep reminding myself that this one doesn't wear glasses.
7954472 There's that healthy disdain for the comments section! Keep it up!
7954500 Excuse YOU. I just mean that I'm not paying attention to this particular discussion because I already know exactly where I'm going with this story and what I'm writing about what you guys are discussing, so it's not in ANYONE'S best interests for me to read the more highly speculative comments at this time.
I don't have a "disdain" for the comments section. It's this particular discussion that I need to distance myself from.
7954553 Your first paragraph encompasses perfectly what I mean when I say "disdain for the comments section." It literally does not matter what we natterers think. Nor should it. And you're willing to say so.
I think the world of that. Please take the compliment.
7954578 Except it didn't sound like a compliment. At all. It sounded like an attack.
7950847
I'm starting to get the feeling that Cadence kinda lied when she said that Canterbook's horoscope was now just copypasted from another horoscope app and that she is writing them directly to subtly influence the residents of the dorm.
It helps that none of them have overlapping signs, so she knows that the horoscope for Virgo will be seen by Flash and the horoscope for Libra will be seen by Twilight.
7954964 Well, it wasn't.
So much pain...
Twilight is such a nerd.
Not a bad thing.
And she still doesn't get it ... I hope Flash's shadow isn't the only one to call her out. She needs a wake up call before they can fix what's really wrong with their relationship.
You brought this upon yourself Twi, sorry but those are the facts.
