So, if I'm getting this correct, apparently Trixie's Social Link is ranking up whenever Flash gets her ego to deflate a little...
And damn, that is really messed up what those guys did.
5236015 Not when her ego gets deflated necessarily, more like when she opens up about her ego getting deflated. As far as Rainbow goes, no argument there.
5236015 I think you're close. From what I understand the Moon, in its Reversed, "bad" position, represents Illusion and Falsehood. By that logic, the SL would rank up every time he makes progress in opening her mind to the truth.
As for the other major happening this chapter.... What the heck is Wrong with people at this school?! The rumors, Cadance, those guys Flash beat up, and now this!
Two guys again?
First it was two guys talking about raping Cadance and now two guys beat up Rainbow Dash to keep her from playing the game?
This is getting a little too redundant to just call this a coincidence. I'm taking a call that the those two guys are going to be our main antagonists.
5236143 I think you're reading entirely too much into that particular detail.
5236107 High school is an ugly, brutal place.
5236015 A major component of many Social Links is a person having an epiphany about themselves/becoming a better person through their interactions with the protagonist. In Trixie's case, it's just coming in the form of blunt force trauma.
5236665 I just found that kind of distracting seeing how it is two guys everytime, but eh I could be and I'm dead wrong. Though I may have an idea of who the antagonist might be but that would probably be from reading too much into detail again.
So an athletically inclined person close to the protagonist and lives in the same dorm gets injured and has to sit out for an undetermined amount of time?
Sound familiar?
5236880 Yeah, but Akihiko was sidelined fighting Shadows, not getting punked by a couple of petty jerks.
5236948 Plot twist: everyone is a Shadow. Boom. Problem solved.
Well, someone had to say it. Still, I can definitely see Trixie latching onto that "Everybody's the same" comment and making herself ever more obnoxious and eccentric to prove Flash wrong.
And as for Dash... Probably not going to happen, but I can't help but wonder what would happen if healing magic were applied to her ankle. Again, it probably doesn't work that way. We're getting into "use a Phoenix Down on Aeris"-level metareference here, if I may mix franchises.
In any case, looking forward to more. Especially since these discipline problems are growing to a truly unacceptable degree. Some kind of backlash seems inevitable, and none of the options look good for anyone...
5237713 Yeah, what's going on at CHS is kind of the reverse of Apathy Syndrome. Of course, what happened to Rainbow Dash is not necessarily related to what's happening with Zodiac and all...in this case, it may just be two guys being absolute assholes because they didn't get what they wanted.
5238652 Yeah, not expecting spoilers, but exactly how literally do you mean that first part?
5237713
Well, about using Dia on a normal wound, the reason I think it doesn't work that way is because you are using the healing on the persona, not on the person. As Yukari says on the game, their personas are the ones with weakness, not them (well given that almost all the attacks a shadow can make would be lethal to a person, you can say we are weak to everything )
So the one getting hit and healed are the personas, not the characters, and that's why attacking directly the person is so effective like Aigis kicking the entire team ass or Shinjiro and Jumpei getting shot
5240037 You're attempting to explain Gameplay/Story Segregation. Stahp.
5240037 *Cries like a baby* In Memoriam!
I really wanted to use "entitled" on one of Trixie's ranks. Rainbow's was a bit tricky, but I think it'll do.
Shit man. This escalated from regular high school nastiness to GTA level. Rainbow Dash could be arrogant sometimes, but she didn't even come close to deserving this. All she wanted was to play soccer, not cry herself to sleep in a hospital bed.
5237713 Ugh, I hate that. Look, in FF7 the status phoenix down cured was KO, or knocked out, not seath. Heck, people would get back up after the fight without any. It didn't revive thebdead, it revitalized people that had taken a beating. PDS on a dead person does nothing.

Just using it as an example of the flawed thinking I was approaching. And in my defense, I've never actually played FF7. (Shock and horror, I'm sure.)
6577643 No no, that's fine, in fact the fact that you didn't play it makes me less angry. It's just that people treat it like the go to solution of "no duh", when if you look at the actual game mechanics it doesn't work.
FF7 is one of those games where I would say if you love the genera, JRPG in this case, then it is a classic. It had some things that were revolutionary for the time and changed standards like only it's predecessors 3 and 4 did. It was that big of a game changer. Sadly the dated graphics really have done a number on it, as what seemed so expressive and emotive once upon a time causing people to feel their emotions now looks like somebody doing stop motion with poorly made paper craft action figures. The use of 3D motion to perform actions unavailable in 2D sprite animation to better convey emotions was a big deal. Fully animated 3D cutscenes added impact like never before, as the world sprung to life to highlight the drama of the moment.
Now that a lot of this stuff is bog standard the revolutionary nature is kind of lost on new players. That being said the game isn't all gimmicks or else it wouldn't be remembered so fondly and still played to this day. The story is rather solid, the game play is simple but deep, and there are some interesting bits of philosophy regarding the nature of self and what is human. And they didn't even use a robot character for it! Overall it is a good game, but it has aged and should be played if you're a fan of the genera, otherwise it probably won't impress.
so what's the theme for this story
you know Persona 3 had a theme about death and persona 4 had a theme about truth
6915411
Actually 4th was about identity, and accepting oneself / others for who they are. Yeah there were under currents about searching for the truth. But most of the conflict was about people coming to terms with their self / accepting parts of themselves that they'd rather hide from.
But yeah, what's the theme?
Couple of jerks jumped you?!
(Puts on Persona 5 outfit of Joker)
"Where did they go?! "Arsene! Go get them!"

It's hard to say at this point. So far there hasn't been much progression in Persona related stuff. Mostly just slice of life stuff.
