7176583 Don't do the "first" thing. Everybody hates that.
I guess sometimes couples argue about different reasons, sometimes really stupid ones. With how much Flash is allowed to get away with an argument like this between him and Twilight was long overdue. Still interesting, and I like how it sort of ties in with how all the parties were wrong in the latest episode. Good job!
Geez, high school drama on top of everything in Zodiac.
Honestly, I can see it from both sides. On one hand, Flash is right that Twilight is overreacting. It was just a pool party and nothing happened there, and concerning him not having any male friends, I can sort of understand where he's coming from.
On the other hand though, Twilight being a little insecure and sensitive is understandable. I mean, have you SEEN Rarity? It might not be so much that he went to the pool party, as much as he went with Rarity, someone that Twilight might actually feel insecure compared to how overtly sexy she is. It might also be the fact that Flash didn't trust her enough to tell her that he was going.
So in the end, they're both right, but they're both wrong. But I'm sure they'll solve this.
Did you mean to use that word? Because as it is, I'm wondering why there's a frying pan at their table.
Interesting bit about Celestia's dream. I had been wondering for a while if non party members remembered the battles with their Shadows as dreams, and it seems like the answer might be "yes", at least in some cases.
Every road has at least a few bumps... though I have to wonder if someone threw a rock in the cart's path this time. Probably just paranoia, but this does seem a bit much. I suppose I'll have to see. At least it seems like they're making up quickly.
As for Sunset, good to see they picked up on the Shadow possibility. The last thing that girl needs is unjustified ire on top of what she's already earned.
7176619 Some places do, actually, serve the food in a skillet. Generally, the skillet in question is about the same size as a regular plate though.
7176619 Never been to Denny's I take it? They have these fry-up things that they serve on a personal-sized skillet, and yes, they bring the sizzlling hot iron skillet right to your table and serve the food on it.

Once, when I was a kid. I don't recall them doing that then.
Is there a problem with the LTE version of this chapter? The index says that it has been updated but the chapter isn't there. I'm not demanding an update, I'm just curious.
Guess it's time for Flash to settle down with his two gorgeous, lovable girlfriends.
But seriously, we all knew the fight with Twilight's shadow was gonna be a big deal, but stuff like this is what's gonna push it over the edge.
I have to agree with Flash on this one. Twilight has been very nonchalant about Flash's behavior around other girls, even making it a bit of a joke sometimes, but to have it bother her so much out of the blue like that feels off. I mean, if that's the way she feels, why not work to fix it instead of encouraging him?
7176593 good chapter bro and dayum. Things are even more heated now.
Flash has the intresting problem of if he doesnt keep the pair he has for the two pair he wants and decides to go for the pairs he thinks he likes, he can end up having no pair left at all.

7176730 Depends on what you order.
That is true
But yeah, this sort of thing seemed necessary to take place. Twilight was being permisive, but infidelity is still a touchy subject for her. There's really no nice way to fix this, Flash needs to give Twilight what she needs, instead of thinking only of himself.
Plus, if this didn't leaked out a bit now, imagine how bad it would've been when they face the final door.
Speaking of which, that call Rainbow got... and then Celestia going to talk with her. It'll have something to do with the next Shadow, won't it?

7177119 Well that's embarrassing. I derped and uploaded the wrong file (the template for the next chapter) rather than today's chapter. Fixed now. Thanks for letting me know!
7177268 Not really. Blaze was just letting her know Celestia was coming by for a visit and to check up on her since they've been in Canterlittle for a bit.
7177469
Well, the timing is there. Just saying.
7177487 Yeah, it is, but it's just a random phone call. I pretty much only had the interruption for an Embarrassing Ringtone Joke.
Everything that I wanted to say has been lost in the tender apology at the end of the chapter.
Not surprised by the fight. Twilight being as patient/permissive as she has been mixed with the complete and utter lack of any discussion on boundaries is enough of a recipe for disaster, never mind when you throw Twi's infidelity issues into the mix. I'm on the "they're both to blame" side -- to make an open-ish relationship work, you REALLY need to have clear communication on where the boundaries are, and without that it just ends up being unfair to Flash that he's getting in trouble for things that seem like they should be okay based on past experience and insensitive to Twilight that he doesn't seem to have stopped to consider her feelings or curbed his own behaviour when he ought to have. Both of them should have been communicating more.
Just wanted to leave a comment on the fights in general too -- I like what you're doing with them to mix them up (Shadows getting crazier, throwing in curveballs like Suri's potential perma-death or RD's freaky possession). With so many boss battles there was a real risk they'd get repetitive, so that helps shake things up and keep them interesting (and as a note, "so many boss battles" is NOT a criticism, it's sort of unavoidable when you're adapting a game like persona and I recognize that). The only down point for me is that these new twists aren't translating at all into the overarching narrative... when the battle's over, it's over, and you're not seeing any impact on the characters that outsiders could get pulled into this and killed over what's essentially a training exercise (if I recall correctly, Flash and co had the option of doing the Shadow fights, they aren't intervening in a villain's targeted attack like before) or any impact on Pinkie, Twilight, etc. for basically having to murder a friend repeatedly to win the last one.
It kind of lessens the impact of these additions -- you know once the battle's done it doesn't matter so the emotional stakes aren't all that high and it's just another monster of the week at the end of it. If that's the intention then I guess that's the author's choice, but it would've been interesting to see these fights starting to have more serious consequences and impact on the characters.
7177781 Valid point, and thank you for your criticism. The Shadow Trials are, essentially, just a boss grind like you'd find in an actual RPG. They do serve a purpose, even if it may not be immediately apparent, but for the most part they're there to help the party train for what lies ahead while strenghtening them mentally and emotionally--and to give the readers the occasional action-intensive chapter so that this doesn't turn into two solid "months" of "We did this, we went there, we didn't do anything, etc." with no major action breaks.

"Hey, Rainbow? This is Dad. Celestia just called me from a baby store. She's on her way to see you, and she wants to snuggle the tar out of you. If she brings a diaper bag or onesies with her, run. Just run. Don't think about anything, run. I'll find you. Somehow, I'll find you."
When Twilight first learned about Zodiac, Flash commented on how fencing would keep her in shape. She was angry that he might think she was fat. She also eats a lot of food. I thought her Shadow would reveal anorexia, but now I don't think that anymore.
I hope this argument isn't done. Flash and Twilight should probably argue some more or things will not get settled...or get worse.
The two of them still have a lot to learn about relationships. Perhaps this argument will be alluded to The trial of the Magician?
Relationships: Where being right isn't always the correct answer.
Slight differences, well if you read the last LTE version of last chapter it would make sense.
All I got to say to Flash is low blow dude, low blow.
For Twilight I don't know much about relationships but in past chapters she did say that the whole thing that's going on is stressing her out so I guess she just had to yell at someone. Again I can totally wrong here.
Also I kinda wanted to see Celestia and Rainbow talk, I'm having a feeling that she didn't go to her just to say hi, after the battle with her shadow and Celestia said she had a dream about everyone in the dorm it would make sense. But that's just me.
And finally the idea that the Sunset they saw in the Velvet Room, THANK LORD THAT THEY STARTED TO THINK ABOUT IT!!!
This is my theory but I think that Sunset fought with her Shadow and lost. Yes it's a farfetched idea but if you think about it, it kinda makes a lot of sense. What will happen if the group loses to a true shadow? What will happen to that person? Well for the mane cast, death... maybe, or get controlled by it.
Now that's the main cast what about the others, what will happen to them? It's just a theory that I have but again if you think about it it kinda makes sense.
I like that Flash and Twilight's relationship isn't just magically perfect, even with her rank at max. A lot of Persona fiction tends to drop character development once that point hits.
7176689 It's actually a lot more common here in the Philippines. Sisig is the usual dish.
7183179 Sisig is quite good, though depends on where you get it. Here in the States, got some pretty good Filipino resteraunts around
7185194 No, because that's how the major Shadows in Persona 4 work, because they are the Shadows--the inner darkness--of the party members and other characters. The Hunter Shadows are more like the Arcana Shadows from Persona 3, none of which had any actual personality--they were just bosses you had to kill.
You're presuming that what you know from Persona 4 (and from the anime, at that, which IS NOT the same as the game) is 1:1 applicable here. It is not. Go into reading the rest of this story without any preconceptions.
7185194
If you want to look at it that way, the floating texts work for that purpose. Belittling the person targeted, saying hurtful and insulting things about them.
Though one huge difference between the floating texts and the Shadow Selves (AS FAR AS I KNOW FROM PERSONA 4 (the game), so no spoilers please), is that Shadow Selves tell the truth about the person they come from, whereas the floating texts are pure st-talk and rumors; read "lies."
Yeah, because Cadance kissing Flash out of nowhere then shoving her hands down his pants. Then him putting a stop to it and leaving the room is totally cheating and his fault ... seriously this entire line of dialog was a tipping point. She (Twilight) was an unbelievable c**t. I mean she then ups and throws all the things she either egged him on to do, or took the initiative on. And used it as a weapon.
That's not counting all the jealousy, possessiveness, and just a horrible human being over stupid stuff to Flash over stuff he has no control over (not counting him being over-sexed, and harem sex stuff. That's a mix of hormones and Zodiac shenanigans.). And this mess has been building up since they started dating.
Sorry for the Rant ... but Oh! My! Celestia!!!
Oh Twily...Jealousy is so not a good look for you.
