Damn shit have gone real, so a free celestia that I can pity for the ponys she defend through the years only by the rules and now she is going to let it go. This chapter have peek good interest and I wonder if she will still control the sun. That is a high energy job by itself so wondering how much they have to pay for. Unless this luna is stronger than the ones in the comics or celestia will do it for free.
All my yes! This is even better than I thought she would solve her family problems.
You know, it's moments like these that make me think that for all their magic, unicorns are the most useless of the pony races.
Alright! now its time for a Luna-level beat down!
I think he'll quit after finding out about the mountain of paperwork that comes with the job.
Wow, You did the unthinkable and made celestia resign, Now what?
Thats because, at 250 mph, even the Shuttle could Fly. In fact, Id have to double check the numbers, but if you had a turbogenerator driving the electric motors instead of external pantograph, then by removing the generator take off turbine, you would have a jet engine capable of pushing the train through the air. Then youd need little fins for directional control, and someway of landing something with esentially no suspension at double the speed of a normal jet aircraft. but I think you get the idea.
Magic bullet train is Chinese Dragon.
Whats a real pity, is that due to this happening ever couple centuaries or so, Celestia doesnt have a Royal Cell down in the dungeons, made up of a collection of rooms, with hot and cold rat communications, and all the locks on the inside of the door.
If nominated, I will not run.
If elected, I will not serve.
I want a full damage report on my desk within the hour.
Execute.
Hmm, from how it sounds it's not that Scootaloo isn't generating any lift, it's that it's all going the wrong way. Sounds like something in her magic is backwards making it where she is pushing herself into the ground instead of away from it.
BURN!!!!!!

That is a human concept, a philosophy we decided for ourselves. Flowers don't question what they were born to do. Neither do animals, they just accept the way the world is and go with it. We see some capable of innovation and assume that this is some sort of proof of superiority. But isn't it just adaptation and evolution? Creatures learn and adapt for survival. Is it wrong for them to want to accept the world around them and not question it? If you start assigning human values and expectations it may not work for a society that bases it's whole educational system on what your butt mark assigns for you. It's like if drone bees started spending energy learning how to be Queens or growing reproductive organs, it hurts the dynamic of bee society and is unsustainable.
Ponies likewise don't need to question it because if they did it would destabilize the foundations of their society.
I........... I............ I want to go to Equestria where I will do nothing but study the blackest of demonic magics until my very soul is tainted to the point the universe actively tries to tear me apart due to the shear wrongness of my being and use these powers to create the perfect hell, a hell that will drive anyone or anything insane in less than a heartbeat, a hell where the torment lasts so long that the inhabitants begin to enjoy the torment. At that moment they will suddenly find themselves in an empty void where they will be able to sense nothing, not even the sounds of their own making, not even their own touch, they will try to scream and claw at them selves to simply be able to feel something all the while begging to be returned to their previous torment. Only when they have completely lost all hope of ever feeling anything again will they be returned to their torment and the cycle will repeat for eternity. I will place the nobles of canterlot in there and laugh at their pain until the end of time never once feeling the slightest flicker of remorse or pity and as the universe ends I will sit on the final few rocks of existence and wish that I could have come up with something better because their torment will still not be enough.
SHe better let Luna have fun then.
And dude seriously. you have Cadance and Twilight sterile and mortal. Not cool man. They have to be like the sisters.
There are stories that make me want Blueblood to see that he needs to change and get redeemed..this is not one of them. BURN THE SODDING BASTARDS!!
i thought that Scootaloo was like a bumblebee? she's trying to flap her wings like a pegasus, but she should instead flap like a bee?
That's a real legitimate concern!
Well that is interesting.
I give it about... three weeks until the revolution, casting down the nobles.
Possibly earlier.
Excelent, you fucked up Blueblood. Let's see how you manage to move the sun, the moon, control Discord, control Equestria, get the nobles in your side, get other nations on your side, and of course not have a war with the Changelings or other nations.
Who thinks they are going to kick him in less that a weak?
oooh shit Celly is free of the crown.......Discord where are your missing out on Chaos
I need the next chapter, NOW!
Well... That happened. I can't even imagine the hell equestrian is going to go threw. I give it a month tops before civil war. Oh and the changelings have a treaty w Celestia so technically he/she could just go ahead and invade.
And then that happened.
>“BECAUSE I QUIT!”
Alright, can we have next chapter? You know, right now.
Ooookay. The ending of this chapter with Blueblood just seems too outlandish. You have an arrogant little retarded shit of a unicorn and his collection of equally incompetent cohorts versus two goddesses, one demigoddess, and one immortal-bug-pony princess with allies from another demigoddess and the loyalty of the common masses.
Exactly how the FUCK does Blueblood expect this to work? The whole point of a law or a coup is you have to have the means to back it up and Blueblood and his cronies most certainly cannot match the firepower or numbers arrayed against them.
It is, as the story title would say, incredibly convoluted and hard to take seriously. It makes Blueblood come across as possibly the most arrogant of beings in the story. Arrogant to the point of blatant stupidity. He can do nothing to reinforce his desires if the princesses simply decided to say "fuck your claim" and then proceeding to throw him out the window. It's arrogance and stupidity to the point of finding it hard to maintain the Suspension of Disbelief. It was easier to take the intentionally silly rock-off seriously than this.
This is just.... what?

I question your response (RealityCheck deleted his comment so correct me if I misunderstand your intent). I would argue that it is natural order, not the denial of it, that is a human concept.
Nature doesn't have order; that is all an illusion. Nature is simply the fundamental forces of physics run-a-muck. The reason why living things want to survive is because if they didn't they would be dead. The reason why complex, diverse life exists is because complex systems can out-perform less complex systems for resources, ensuring their survival at the expense of others. This system uses genetic evolution because all other systems aren't as good at adapting to changing conditions. Notice how nothing here has a purpose, it's just processes that stem from smaller processes that stems from the fundamental physical forces. No rhyme or reason to it at all. It exists because nothing else can. Nature isn't perfect, it just 'is', often not even optimally so. Creatures go extinct, even without human intervention, not because their 'purpose' was used up, but just because some random thing cause their environment to change and they couldn't adapt.
This denial of some 'natural order' can be seen in animals too. Using your point about bee drones, they actually do use energy and resources to be like Queens and create reproductive organs (since evolution is simply random mutation), but nature punishes these 'mutants' by making it harder to survive because they aren't as efficient as drones without those parts. This is actually detrimental to the hive in a way because, should the environment change and the hive model no longer work, it will likely take far too long for the bees to adapt before their hive dies because the Queen is the sole provider of genetic information which greatly slows down the necessary genetic mutation.
Additionally, bees don't accept the way the world is, they accept the way the bee-colony is the way it is. There is a big difference. They collect pollen without a care for the flower's survival or if it can get the resources it needs, they horde resources for themselves and will even compete with other bee hives for resources if need be. Animals like bees can out-perform others so well that they exhaust their resources and die. None of this sounds like acceptance, rather, it is domination. Through evolution, they attempt to make the world work for their hive in order to survive; they are just too stupid to actually succeed like humans do.
Ignoring all that, however, we can also see the practical purpose of this as a philosophy as well. If we (as humans) just left things to 'that's just the way the world works', we wouldn't see the need to treat the sick or build civilization because those are all things that are 'different' from the 'natural order' of things. It is this reason that science was held back throughout the dark ages:
There are even times when a pony wants to get rid of their Cutie Mark (see S5E1, E2 & E6), so your argument that ponies blindly accept them is incorrect. While it is true that a Cutie Mark imbues the wearer with the abilities they have learned, like a sort of "talent storage" that does not inherently mean that the system is perfect. Just ask Trouble Shoes if he thinks that the Cutie Mark Acquisition Process could be better.

Yeah, it's like if, in 1933, Prince Franz I of Lichtenstein said it owned Germany De-jure (and actually had the papers to prove it) and just strutted into the Reichstag and gave Hitler the middle finger as he declared himself chancellor of Germany. I mean, ignoring the fact that all you would need to do is say they were forged and it would ruin their 'brilliant' plan, nopony could be smart enough to find out the legal documents necessary to create such a claim and yet be so astoundingly stupid as to try to enforce it, yet alone several ponies!
Do none of them even have two brain cells to rub together? The best case for them would be that the Alicorns just laugh it off, but this is clearly treason. Even the most lax laws would have them banished or imprisoned. Old, unenforceable law doesn't protect against new enforceable ones. Just, I want to go on, but ARGHHH!
Anyway, in summary, I totally feel your pain. My Suspension of Disbelief is in orbit.
6050946 hold on a second, Celestia is a master manipulator and she may be planning something. she may be just taking a vacation for a bit and Blueblood is probably going to be crawling on his forelegs begging for her to comeback

o and don't forget this line she said
Oh my.
This story, despite the somewhat infrequent updates, never fails to recapture my interest with each chapter. I look forward to more.
She is letting Luna to take care of country. Damn. Some ponys are gonna loose their heads.
Why can I see #1 bouncing up and down like an over excited puppy if it was told to go and plan a decapitation strike against the Equestrian leadership, now that the princess are out of the way. And then getting disappointed at no followup plan for a full-on invasion. On the other hoof...
"Greetings my fellow elite unicorns," said the green-eyed Blueblood, "I wish to welcome you to this event celebrating the transition of power. I also bring excellent news. Recent events have produced an opportunity to increase the power of your positions by a great amount. Thus I look forwards to private discussions with some of my most loyal supporters immediately after this meeting."
<elsewhere>
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Celestia asked.
"Well we all know they're going to blown over like an autumn leaf the next time another big bad comes along, and then beg for you to come back," the changling queen answered. "So we might as well make the invasion as swift and gentle as possible. Before anyone else gets any ideas."
"Besides sister, we all saw that look of delight on your face when you saw all those nobles imprisoned down in the hive. I told you you'd enjoy playing the bad mare, didn't I?"

Reality check's post was that accepting Scoot's condition as 'the way things are' was a affront to thinking society. That we should always strive to better ourselves. (or something along these lines)
I was merely trying to point to out that what we humans may belive to be philosophical truth may not be true of other species or cultures. Animals fit into a system that is dictated by survival. They do what works and sometimes outliers succeed, while a majority do not.
My point is that sometimes things happen that are bad, and thoes things happen for a reason. And while steps should be taken to prevent such things a measure of acceptance is needed as well.
Scootaloo's destiny may require her not to be able to fly. In other words it may be her inability to fly that pushes her to find the destiny that was ment for her. So pony society is more accepting of flaws and defects such as these since tampering with a Ponies destiny seems like such an immoral act. I its hard for us humans to be so accepting since personal destinies are not so telegraphed but I can understand why Ponies would be reluctant in messing with personal destinies.
So Celestia finaly decided to up and quit and let the mob of disgruntled citizens deal with 'royalty'. I'm not sure if i should cheer for her, or pity Blueballs for what's comming to him.
BlueBlood.....
Wait, soo...we're not going to be needing the clean-up crews for this one?
I could've sworn when that line was crossed...
Well, this should prove to lead in an interesting direction.
Oh man. And Celestia just got done watching some GoT. Here I was hoping shed have some interesting new ideas for how to deal with Blueblood/Joffrey-lite.
Although I do want to see him try to lift the sun and render himself an impotent cripple in the process. 'S what you get for trying to step into some Celestia-sized shoes.
Now I am must go and cry about the evils of cliffhangers.
now who would be the right pony to put on the mask?
Hang on a sec while I grab my popcorn and other assorted snacks and refreshments. I'm going to enjoy watching Blueblood and his lackeys self-destruct. It's just a pity I'm not an Equestrian assassin, or I'd happily take out the lot of them. I'd be sure to make it very BLOODY
Now how he gonna move astral objects :D?
Can't wait to see Canterlot in a few weeks now. I imagine it'll be less than a week before it becomes a cesspool after all the non-unicorns and lower class unicorns responsible for the city infrastructure quit as Blueblood and friends run the city, and maybe Equestria, into the ground.
I knew there was gonna be backlash if he started poking around in old laws. No one ever has the brains to take outdated laws off the books until some idiot tries to enforce them.
6051169 I'm sure that if you read my previous comment 6050134 you would agree we could team up. You get their bodies I get their souls?

I give the fool one week before he runs in tears to find Auntie and begs her to retun if Luna leaves too, one hour if Luna stays to say what she thinks.
spelling error
it should be misery
6051005 ... Buck, I had completely forgotten about that. No pony revolution to tear down the nobility.
Y'know, I see talk about another changeling invasion, but at this point it would be more like a rebellion or counter-coup due to their peaceful annexation and the crowning of Fae. If the other princesses voiced their support and Fae kept on not being evil, a strong case could be made for him seizing power and becoming the figurehead ruler that Tia and Luna were ages ago while the other princesses quietly keep doing what they do best: running the empires and saving the day.
Well, up until Tirek breaks loose and kills Fae by sucking out all his magic/love.

I get what you are saying, that pony society is 'more accepting' of the idea of 'disability-as-fate,' but this story takes the idea too far, in my opinion. It is true that the accepting of disabilities is a good thing (for the ones who have them have done nothing wrong), but the reason why it is so difficult for humans to do so isn't because of some "philosophy" but because we see disability as an affront to survival, a limit. Any creature should be frustrated with limits and wish to overcome them. That includes fixing the problem, not merely going around it. This is evident even in Equestrian society.
Rainbow Dash had her wing broken, but she didn't just accept her fate and tried to look at the 'bright-side' of living a life without flying. No, medicine provided a means of curing her. That means that, at some point in Equestrian history, some pony sought a cure to that debilitation. Just as that pony found a cure to fixing a broken wing, so too can a cure be found to Scootaloo's wing disability.
Also, this argument seems fundamentally flawed. Scootaloo has no visible destiny. She doesn't have some sort of 'disability Cutie Mark', so how does the disability in any way dictate her fate? What if striving for a cure is her destiny? If so, ponies telling others her or others that attempting to find a cure is immoral would actually be actively hindering her destiny rather than preserving it. Likewise, how would it be wrong if someone else tried to do the same thing if Scootaloo asked (it is clear from the show that she loves to fly, so I have no doubt that if given the choice, she would ask to be cured). It just doesn't make sense to me that they would admonish Fairy for thinking that way.
Why do i get the feeling the dude that made the god
-empress-princess abdicate —the one with a 99,9999% approval rating I might add, is going to be really unpopular?Assassins in broad daylight levels unpopular, I mean. If not outright lynch-mobs.
Part of me hopes Blue actually realize what a tosser he's been and get himself a few new, non-poisonus friends...
But given how this story tortured Flash Sentry for daring existing and Blue Blood is the other pony OK to hate, I kinda doubt that.
Hope to be proven wrong about that, just an observation.
6050990
Don't get me wrong, I'm not disagreeing with Celestia's plan or intelligence, this is actually better than anything Blueblood could have possibly hoped for. That is my point, how could have Blueblood planned for this? If he did (he is only pretending to be stupid and inane so that Celestia would be so fed up with him that she actually does give him control) then Blueblood is a manipulator even better than Celestia. Otherwise, he is an incomprehensible dichotomy of stupid; smart and dumb in a way that I can't possibly understand.
Either way, the insanity going on completely rips me out of the story. If it was done in a parody sort-of-way, I would laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation, but these nobles are supposed to have real power, to the point that Celestia actually has to shield her sister from them. If that is the case, Celestia must think that Luna is royally incompetent (pun not intended) because these imbeciles look incredibly easy to circumvent.
6051644
but they didn't just accept it they did the research they looked at the problem and they decided that there was no reasonable way to cure the affliction. in a society where a person's destiny represents everything that they are that would also include their disability or poor luck or negative self image. to deny any of those would be like denying apart of yourself. so maybe the equestrians don't look as hard for solutions to problems like these as a human would but does that make them wrong? I don't think so Scootaloo's life is not negatively impacted any more than an earth pony or unicorn with a broken horn. she can fit into society and live a relatively normal life without too much complication. the adversity of her trying to discover her cutie mark without the ability to fly is a mark of her character. Walsh humans may look at it as cruel because you're causing someone to suffer needlessly this is the kind of thing that pushes someone past their limits and makes their destiny all the more worthwhile.
"Dear sister? Carry on."
