Well, didn't quite see that outcome coming. You've been lathering up the apparent crush Celestia has on Omni for awhile, but I was not expecting Dash to just completely shoot them down. You've also hinted at something else going on with her, but what is still unknown, it seems like it might pop up as a plot element somewhere along the future here. I guess now, the real question is, what happens next? Does Celestia try to step in, or do we end up with a curveball and get another surprise? Good chapter.
Tsk, tsk. You just asked Loyalty if she wanted to help you cheat on your girlfriend, Fairy.
And I'm just sitting here shipping Fae-Celestia.... Faelestia... Faerretia?
... You have my attention.
5038844 Damn it, you said exactly what I wanted to.

I'll just ditto and pretend I actually said something useful. :P I'm curious where you're going to go because you have hinted multiple times at something between Celestia and Fae. The problem I see there is what Twilight's perception of Celestia actually is. If she sees her like a mother, not going to ever happen. If she sees her as a mentor or on a pedestal for some reason, then she might be able to change that but it would be hard.
On a different note: Rarity's reaction was about what I would expect from her. As soon as you said she should be going north, I knew where that was going. I still like Twilight's reaction as well. I'm really curious about Rainbow Dash's anger. What was she angry at? Is she angry because of the believed perception that she's into mares when she is completely not? Maybe we're tackling that angle? Eh, my final thoughts are: "Go Celestia, be the rebound girl! Let Fae get someone on the Celestia level of beauty on the 1 to Celestia scale. :P"
Graaah you son of a bitch, uploading a chapter at 2:45AM. You suck. Now I can't sleep until I've red it.
I still love you though, with all the potential homo.
5039015 Actually the possibility that Twilight sees Celestia as a mother was already eliminated when Fae brought it up her reaction was "see Celestia as my mother? eww! no!" not those words exactly but she did have a grossed out reaction to the idea... Maybe twilight fantasized being with Celestia in the past which would explain why the idea of Celestia being like a mother to her grossed her out. "she cant be my mother I clop to that!"
5038844
My guess would be that Celestia can't ask now. Fay is going to need some time to pick up the piece. I think Celestia is going to resign herself to not asking and just being friend zoned. I want to speculate that Twi might even pick up on Celestia's and Fay's repressed feelings for one another and might move on Celestia.
Bloody hell, I didn't even know this sequel existed... I read the prequel up until it finished, and then never heard anything.
5039148 Welcome to the party, bro! We've got high drama incoming.
5039109
That would be...entertaining.
sh*t happens really good chapter, why he can't see that Celi is after him why she say no what will happen on coronation or when he will become fully queen of his kind i can't wait to see.
Well shit, I was totally looking forward to this shipping. I hope that after some more stuff happens, like finding out why Dash was sad and angry about them asking her out, the ship will finally set sail.
5039109
I forgot about that. Then it's simple. To the relationship HO! He can also annoy Sunset by being her "father" :P

Actually it's more cultural thank you think. While there is a survival part to it in the earlier days of human civilization when we all lived in caves, after we started figuring out goat/sheep/cow/(insert animal here) milk could double as a food source for babies, they became less important. Especially once social standing and wealth was factored in.
Over time this created different standards of female beauty across the world.
Using the Spartan VS the Africa VS China example
The Spartans wanted women to breed and produce warriors, so they went for women that were in shape, but still had plenty of gynoid fat which is centered around the hips and breasts. This eventually became the western standard of beauty because Greece, Rome, the US and so forth, which we decided to spread around through our cultural invasion of everything. Even today, when we see cultures that don't value larger breasts, we just go "you guys are weird" and write them off as an anomaly thanks to Japanese porn.
As opposed to northern Africa, where the larger a woman was, the more desirable she was due to the access of wealth. If she didn't need to work all day and could gave several pounds in all the wrong places, it was seen as attractive because they had money. In southern Africa, the skinnier a woman and more boyish she was, the more people wanted her. The ability to bear children had nothing to do with her attractiveness.
China was social engineering at its finest that said crippled feet made women attractive because their emperor said so, and a man was truly something if he had a wife that sat around all day doing nothing. They've kind of gotten rid of it in the last several hundred years, but some of that...whatever you want to call it still lingers.
Celestia may be after Fae romantically, but I honestly can't see it happening. Maybe it's me, but it feels like her and him being friends is forced on Tia's part. Sure, after the interdimensional adventure he may have gained some respect for her, but friends in anything other than name? As things are now, hell no. This is mostly because Celestia keeps doing things that bother Fae, even when it is obvious that they bother him. First off is how she lied about how she and Luna were the heroes that defeated Chrysalis and Fae was made to surrender, painting him as the villain even when they both know Fae almost lost his life saving the Crystal Empire, and then even when she admitted she lied she doesn't tell the truth. Secondly is that Fae being turned into a female alicorn by Celestia comes off as something she did intentionally to inconvenience him, what with her repeating needling and teasing and stating "no, you are female, get used to it" when he says he is male. Third off it the dreamtime sexual harassment. If it started after the summit then it would be only a little bit inappropriate, but given that it started soon after she began appearing in his dreams, it feel way out of line. You might think that after witnessing his constant discomfort and embarrassment her actions she might stop, but she keeps on going with it. The fact that she considers him her friend when she continually commits actions that annoy and aggravate him on purpose makes me hope that she gets shot down, hard.
Ouch... I think I felt that hammer to the heart two. Reminds me of the time I was first shot down. It *bleep*ing hurts, and my self-confidence and worth took a nose dive. But after re-reading that part, I don't think my experience was half as bad as Fae's. That hesitant "okay" Rainbow gave was a real *bleep*ing tease.
Dash turned Fae down. Can't help feeling it kind of serves him right.
He is kind of a shitbag.
Why, you ask? It's not like he did anything--- except take a frightened twelve year old child away from his mother.
That's right, sports fans. Twilight is nineteen, which makes spike, at most, twelve years old. Of course he behaved badly-- He wakes up one morning and his mother-figure is dating a brain-raping, lifeforce-sucking vampire that was by her own admission sent out as an assassin to kill her, and is housing a human who stole the Element of Magic, kidnapped him, turned herself into a DEMON and ALSO nearly killed her. How scared out of your mind would YOU be at that age? What would YOU resort to when it seemed like all the grownups around you had absolutely lost their minds?
A little empathy and maturity on Fae's part is called on right there. But the protagonist is a proxy for the author, who apparently has a hate-on for anything with a penis that gets near his waifu. So, on with the machiavellian scheming against the single mom's kid for interrupting his nooky schedule.
But hey, no big dealy, right? It's not like Spike could grow up into a nearly unkillable, city-destroying monster who will be motivated to hunt down the protagonist in a bloody quest for revenge and stomp him into a crunchy green smear, right? OH WHOOPS.

As mother as the daughter.
I object. Spike was banished because of his own fault. He assissted in murder (intentionaly), an summoning of the demon (unintentionaly) and revolt (unintentionaly). House arrest it is too soft for him. On conscience he has to be banished toward Equestria`s borders.
5044102
Don't forget the main character killed a dragon just for the hell of it and mounted its head on the wall of her freaking throne room for shits and giggles in part one epilogue. That also probably didn't endear him to Spike at all, and might have helped with the whole scaring the shit out of him.
5044870
From the objective point of view, I'd say the thing with Sunset was more unintentional than anything else and Flash would really have 92% of the blame, and the rest of what transpired was completely of out of his control. He just pointed a finger at Sunset and said "she's evil" when a pair of changeling guards are following her around and guilt by association on top of her not being a pony probably would have landed her in the same place. So yeah, he really was just a frightened little kid in need of comfort and not really that big an influence on anything since Fae revealed herself as a changeling jut to mess with Flash, and the CE was rightfully terrified of the creatures.
But from the subjective point of view of the character in the story...Spike fucked with my proxy and tried to take MY pony. So he's getting put in his place.
5044937
that helped with commititng murder, deamon summoning and revolt, yeah.
I suppose you are bug pony in real.
I withdraw the Waifu comment. I was just incredibly cranky at the time. In poor taste. But just... REALLY. You jerkified Flash Sentry, and then had him gutted like a trout. Now you have the protagonist get Spike banished from his own home... My only hope is that you balane this out at some point have Fae realize what a malicious jerk he's been and have him at least sincerely try to reconcile with Spike.
5044102
Regarding RealityCheck's comment:
This is a lesson. You have to learn to only listen to your commenters to a degree. RealityCheck's comments are... Wow... Curiously extreme reaction. He's saying stuff like Fae is a shitbag, and the waifu comment.. These are direct attacks upon you. He's not even being subtle about that. He's calling you personally a shitbag and pointing out that the character is a proxy for the author and fantasizing violence against you, by 'proxy'.
He's taking this personally and he's making it personal. These are thinly veiled personal attacks upon you... And err, direct ones.
There are people who want to argue and there are people who want to fight. RealityCheck's comments are on the spectrum of trying to start a fight and manipulate someone through browbeating and insulting them.
5048485
I also wanted to add to this that you've been doing a great job updating, and your story is awesome and you've put a lot of thought into it. The reactions, actions and concerns of the characters all seem reasonable. You've been doing a great job and it's a good story.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to make our lives a little bit better.
5048963 From a Fantasy Novel.
Or maybe Kazushige Nojima
At some point, children have to learn that their actions have consequences. At some point, children have to learn that their fantasies are not reality. Even going with the whole idea that Spike is twelve years old, that's old for those two lessons.
He is being treated with a soft touch and that's what caused the problem. He just helped instigate a national calamity, tried to poison and hinder his parent's relationship with her significant other for weeks or months (however long it's been in this story), tried to spread a bad reputation for her parent's significant other via malicious rumormongering for the same time period, refused to listen to anybody else, turned an entire city against an innocent, vulnerable bystander which didn't lead to murder only because of luck, and so on. If most children did that, then they would get paddled until their rear end was raw and sent off to military school.
Part of the problem is that Twilight is just not stern with Spike. She doesn't want to be the bad cop with him, and nobody else is really in the position to be the bad cop. Fae couldn't do it because Spike doesn't trust him and isn't in the position right now.
Unfortunately, Twilight was trying to ignore what was a serious issue with Spike, and it developed to the point where it's a terrible problem and it's gotten locked in, a 'Spike needs to be sent to a therapist or military school type' problem. Also, Twilight didn't lay down the law in her own house, and tell Spike how things were going to be, whether he liked it or not. She avoided conflict, and as a parent you can't do that sometimes. You can't handle every problem by being nice to your children and avoiding conflict. She was letting Spike run the show and make the decisions. Twilight's problem is that you can't treat every relationship like a friendship. She can't treat her adopted son like a friend and not have problems... And there are going to be problems because she's treating her relationship with her stallionfriend like a friendship.
This has run on long enough that Spike isn't just justifying his fears; he's become outright delusional.
If Spike came back years later trying to kill Princess Fae (and presumably Princess Twilight out of a feeling of rejection or in a rage because she rejected his fantasies again or some other BS because that's what happens when you let somepony's fantasy run wild) with his massive size, he would not be some justified woobie. He would be a spoiled, murderous brat in an adult's body -- in addition to being a regicidal, enemy of state level criminal trying to do something that would harm the entire nation of Equestria while harming numerous, completely uninvolved innocents.
As for Fae, all he did was be honest with what he felt, and then fail to break up with Twilight, not for a lack of trying. Oh, and he told others what was actually going on without the Twilight blinders, and let them decide for themselves. So far there has been general consensus outside of Fae's opinion that Spike was being a brat and a serious problem and that ponies were seriously hurt, emotionally and physically, because of his behavior. There is a suggestion that Fae talked to Twilight about Spike taking a break at her parents, but this wasn't Fae's masterful manipulations. Celestia obviously supported it; everypony close to Twilight likely knows about it. Everypony else would know the context of it and be able to easily guess why the decision was made. Fae didn't use mind control powers to make this happen. Spike's behavior and Twilight's lack of parenting made this an eventuality. This was just the flashpoint.
Look here, Celestia is on the bandwagon. Heck, she's saying this is what Spike needs, and she has a convincing argument. This is a consensus that ponies have come to that Spike's problem has become unhealthy, for him, not just everypony around him, and that separation is the solution. Again, this is not just Fae that supports this, but multiple ponies including Twilight herself after they discussed it.
And let's not joke, if Twilight talked to Princess Celestia and Fae about this, she also talked to the rest of the Mane 6 about this.
Knowing how ponies are, she probably also discussed it with the conveniently placed quiet older mare at the coffee shop who raised three grown colts and was curiously in the mood to reminisce on the lessons of motherhood.
There is a limit of tolerance for children. Most parents in general have a lot of tolerance, and it tends to heal well over time. The problem is really that Twilight had too much tolerance for Spike's behavior. She's sitting there trying to allow him to save face in every way, when she needed to be putting down the law. She should have nipped that in the bud the second it started.
Even at the end, she doesn't confront him. She's just like "You're still doing this." She doesn't go, “Spike that is completely insane. Fae just saved the crystal empire, and the lives of dozens of innocent ponies at the risk of his own soul and eternal torment. If Fae wasn't there I could have easily died. You are wrong. You are completely wrong and should be ashamed of yourself. I know more about magic than you. The princess and every other single pony disagrees with you, except for the pony who just tried to go on a genocidal spree of murder to take over the crystal empire. If you want, I will bring in the top doctor from Canterlot to prove to you that I am not under mind control. He can explain the results in great detail to you, and why it would be impossible for me to under mind control right now. Spike you are grounded; you are so bucking grounded, and I will have you write essays about how you were wrong and what you should have done until you do it right, and you will apologize every day to every person you have wronged until I am convinced you are sincere and they forgive you.” She didn't grab Spike and take her to Sunset and tell him, "Look at what you did to her. Don't look away. Look at this, you ordered this to happen. Sunset nearly died."
But Twilight's behavior in the story makes sense because she doesn't want conflict or to be the bad guy. She still hasn't learned her lesson; she's kind of just on the edge of the epiphany. I'd still say Spike has to push this more before she would change.
But so far Twilight has pointed out what she's realized. She has not been a good parent to Spike, and that's why this problem escalated. Twilight has been a parent to spike when it's convenient to her. She has avoiding doing the things that make her uncomfortable.
I don't even think she's sent the right message to him so far, which should be 'I will not tolerate bad behavior and your fantasies are not reality' instead again it's too close to something Spike could justify as "somepony is taking Twilight away from me in a big conspiracy.” And that's the thing, he's delusional and nobody is laying down the law with him. Because they are too nice. In fact, they are sending him to a pack of enablers and there is no way that can't go wrong.
Spike is ignoring everything he doesn't want to pay attention to, and then making up his own fantasies. These are signs of serious mental illness. Children tend to fantasize more, but they tend to grow out of it and get over it quickly and forget. Spike is not. As I said, he would need to be sent to a therapist.
Ironically, Spike needs a parent like Fae, who would tell him stuff to his face and not be nice to him. Unfortunately, Spike and Fae don't have enough of a relationship for him to do that. Spike doesn't respect Fae. That's what a parent in that position needs, respect. Also, Fae doesn't want to step on Twilight's toes by doing so, or at least that's my impression. If they all get herded, I guess he would have the right since he'd be an equal parent.
I've seen what happens to children who have parents like Twilight, and what is happening to Spike is pretty bucking accurate. They grow up to be delusional adults. Not only that, they don't realize when they're imposing their fantasies on other ponies.... or they just end up rejecting everypony, because other adults will not tolerate their behavior.
It's like the crush that Spike has on Rarity. When I think of that, it gives me bucking chills. Somebody should nip that in the bud. It seems cute right now, but it's not really cute in somepony that's developing psychologically like Spike. At some point it's going to become downright creepy. Rarity is an adult and has NO interest whatsoever in Spike in any capacity. And again, in the show they gloss this over, but it's the seed of something creepy or emotionally disastrous – a drama disaster. A wiser parent would have nipped that in the bud after a while, not encouraged him to go play entourage to Rarity every day of his childhood. The longer you let these things go on, the worst they get. Spike should be out playing with kids his age, not lusting after Rarity.
When he gets older, even if he wasn't delusional about the whole thing, he will be jaded about that.
And Spike's dependency problem with being an assistant -- that's already been addressed in chapter 24 (chapter by name). He has a legitimate problem there too.
Spike has become a complex problem that has been allowed to develop too far, and the solution will probably end up being equally complex or difficult.
But that -- is what makes a bucking good story. ^_-
No updates?

Clearly we were incredibly spoiled over the past three weeks. I've been eagerly awaiting the next chapter too, but you have to admit that it might be a bit unreasonable to expect LordBrony to pump out several thousand words everyday indefinitely. But whenever it comes, I'll be ready.
And looking at the recent comments, it seems that there's a bit of controversy with 5044102's comment. Personally, I think that even without anything about Spike, he's right about Rainbow turning Fae down. LordBrony has even basically said that Fae is basically a (possibly still kind of evil) jerk. This comment is a pretty good example. I'd have to go back and check to be sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if Fae has even admitted to being a jerk somewhere in the story.
That being said, I think it looks like Rainbow turned them down for other reasons, and she'll probably eventually sort that out and get with them, despite Fae's personality flaws.
I am happy she said no, otherwise this would become an harem fic.
5058520 even an author can be a tad wrong. I say Fae is more dark than evil. the darkest thing i can think of is the green dragon killing but even that did have some moral to it. Yes it's swag for Fae but also a clear sign to no messed with the changelings who now serve as a buffer between the ponies and Everfree.
The bats: fully agree with Fae there, they are a pest and FLuttershy was too kind. Remember this is before the breezies and that episode showed her that the Kindness thing to do is be cruel. Ponyville needed the food more than the bats. AJ had actual history on her side while Fluttershy had only theory. And connsidering the pilot for season 5 i seriously question Fluttershy's judgement.
Any so called evil Fae has done has been for the girls more than anything or anyone else. Heck we see was Fae endures for their happiness.
As for Spike. Honestly this story has created the first Spike i REALLY hated. Let's look overthe facts.
Fae has not done anything to him since the Alicorn Amulet and even all Fae wantedfrom him was to write a letter to Celestia to get her to come down. After that Fae's been nothing but nice to him when they meet. Heck she gave jewels to him by proxy of Twilight. What did Fae get in return? One less romance time with Twilight since no sex with Twilight at Golden Oaks (One that Fae actually agreed with since he's too young to know that stuff in detail), He won't move into Everfree because of of his fear of Chanelings, and Twilight can't even spend the night at Everfree because if he wakes up and she's not their he panicks. After months of this Fae finally starts addressing the issue with Twilight but she asks for more time. From what AJ has said Spike was actively trying to get the other Mane 6 to go against Fae. Thankfully they knew the true Fae(Meaning they know that Fae wouldn't purposely harm them, annoy at times like Discord but easier to get along with then him) so it didn't go anywhere.
Then we get to the Empire where he's treated as a god, frankly Cadance goofed here. That statue at minimum should be the Mane 6 with Spike on Twilight's back, but no she fed the praise of Spike .When he learns of this not only did it get to his head, no he sees a new path to get Fae and Twilight to break up so he tells lies about how he single handlely save the Empire all the times it was threatened in the past few years, also aided by the fact Celestia lied about what happened in the Changeling invasion. he decides to add Sunset to it because of the past and the fact Twilight was spending time with her a lot as well. Honestly the only thing that saved Spike from death in the cavern was that Fae prioritzed Sunset over her need to get back at him. If Sunset had clearly died from that Fae would have killed him without mercy or regret.
Spike did slander, assisted in attempted murder and maybe inciding to riot. he got off lucky. Not mention how his actions hurt Twilight.
And those who say Spike wouldn't do this let's look back a bit. He grew jealous of the Owl 9 not even remotely attempting his name) Even even tried to fake a murder to frame the owl in desperation. And when called out on it he believed Twilight didn't love him anymore so ran away. Spike at your service we she what happens when Twilight has literally nothing for him to do. Every Spike centertic episode is about his lack of self confidence and how bad and desperate he can get during those with Power ponies being the only exception. Also discounting the Rarity episodes since he is actually compentant with her. So what happened in this story is EASILY within his character to do.
Flash, the poor pawn. Think of it you have the savior of the Crystal Empire which after a couple years assigned there the hero worship had to get to him. He had that and his direct superior telling him to attack a being that was a possible threat to the Empire and did so. And got killed for it. Again I'm actually blame Cadance for this more than Spike, she got more than the trolling from her aunt. She got the missing potential problem till it bites you in the flank.
Then we get to now. After giving so much to the girls he actually follows the one thing he ever would try to be selfish for, and ironically it's Twilight not Fae who gets the ball rolling for it. So Fae actually gts a chance to have a dream fullfilled and stay loyal to Twilight, and the answer Fae gets is a resounding no. That's going to hurt and you guys saying Fae deserved it. SHut up.
5041354
As much as I want to say the Fae Twi and Tia need to be together maybe minus Twi I really can't... But I still love goof authors writing Celestia x Someone/pony fics.
It may sound cruel. But he needed to be rejected. I am not saying I don't want Fae with Rainbow because honestly I do and I hope it happens later. But It honestly feels like things have been going just a little too smoothly for him with how easily Twilight jumped on the herding wagon. And Celestia comforting him while he is down makes me think he will appreciate what he has right in front of him so it is a lesson in "not everything can be yours even if you are a badass with mind magic."
5044102 He's dark not evil. We see where his general morality lies.
Also Spike got of freaking lucky.
Let's look at all Spike did.
1: Even though Fae has nothing but been kind to him, Spike did want to live in the castle due to fear. Heck he thought that princess were brainwashed. Twilight couldn't even spend a night at the castle because of his fear.
2: He drag Sunset into his fear and hate even though out of all the villians she did the least of them.
3: Blantantly lied to the Crystal Empire, seriously enough to probably be considered slander. Thus causing Fae and Sunset to be treated badly.
4: encourage assault on Sunset. This is easily attempted murder.
5: His actions caused the Crystal Captain to attempt a coup which can make him an accessory to that as well
6: Despite all of that he takes him being sent away for him to say he's sorry. Up to that point he still thought Fae was the issue.
So take all that in and if it was anywhere else he be in jail for years or even executed. So yeah Spike got off FREAKY LUCKY!
6565160 Note Fae is against the whole herding idea out of fear of destroying relationships. Also he's being made Princess against his will.
Heck the whole Spike issue he didn't want till Spike crossed the line. So things haven't been going for him lately.
i just imagine by now hes got a building full of changelings in manehatten just drawing graphs and filing paperwork all day doing whatever mundain task he says to do
changelings in kahki pants and dress shirts with pointy sticks...
Fairy isn't a great changeling, huh? Rainbow cclearly wants it too, But feels way out of their league.
"Um, excuse me? We have comic books in Equestria, you know. Worst. Fanfiction. Ever," the proprietor was heard to say.

Hm, does this mean that Dash won't be in the harem? Personally, I actually prefer it this way(if it actually stays this way, which I doubt) as it allows more time to focus on Tia's relationship with Fay(I don't mind Twilight; I'm just not as interested in her). Not only that, but Rainbow, despite being a main character, has been more-or-less off to the sidelines for the majority of the story.
If, Fae, if
You're not the only one

Great chapter. Well done.

I love this Celestia, this is the perfect characterization of the Alicorn, perfect
