Bonus Act II: Pretty Women

Bonus Act II: Pretty Women

Diamond Tiara sat back in her long chair beside her pool, smiling as her tiara sparkled in the sunlight. She was in such a good mood after smashing the worthless pegasus' scooter, even though Silver Spoon had chickened out at the last moment.

"Oh well, maybe she'll be of more use next time," Tiara thought to herself as she took a sip of her mock martini.

Suddenly, her butler walked out through the patio doors and said, "Miss Tiara. You have a visitor. A friends from school."

"Probably Silver Spoon to kiss up for backing out of my scheme," Tiara thought with a smile. She gave her butler pony a curt nod. He then stepped aside to reveal not Silver Spoon, but Button Mash holding a plastic bag.

Diamond Tiara sat up in surprise. "What are you doing here, you nerd!?"

To Tiara's surprise, Button wasn't at all hurt by the insult. In fact, he kept up a slightly stupid looking smile of pure innocence and infatuation. Button Mash stepped forward, set the bag down on the ground next to him, and looked straight at Diamond Tiara. Still wearing his enchanted smile, Button lifted his left hoof and placed it over his heart as he spoke to the pink filly before him.

You see miss a colt infatuated with love.
I'd be your ardent and eager slave.

Button reached into his plastic bag and pulled out a few of the items he had "borrowed" from Rarity. There were hoof creams, moisturizes, perfumes, various makeups and plenty of other beauty items.

So here I have file and pumice stone,
Stuff to lend you a more seductive tone
You deserve much more than perfume alone,
Please let me style. . . .

Button took out a brand new brush out of its packaging and gave Diamond Tiara another entranced look.

. . .Your mane.

Diamond Tiara stared blankly at the brown colt in front of her as he kept up that enamored smile. "What a hopeless romantic," she thought. But then, a sly smile formed on her face, and she thought, "Heh! If he wants to be my servant, who am I not to take advantage of him. He's asking for it!" So she lay back on her long chair, took a final sip of her drink, and said,

"If you want to, then yes you may."

Button replied by whistling to himself as he carried his back over to Diamond Tiara, positioning herself behind her chair.

"You're sure in a good mood, Button Mash," Tiara commented.

Button nodded enthusiastically, the propeller on his hat spinning twice as fast.

It's part delight of gaining my Mark, and part being here with you.

Diamond Tiara chuckled at that, "Well romance novels say love can make hearts pound and leap higher, and more!"

And more?

Love's like a fire!

"That's love, yes," Tiara replied with a chuckle.

But more than love

"More than love?" Tiara said with confusion in her voice.

Markings

Tiara smiled and nodded in understanding, "Ah yes, Markings."

Cutie Markings

Tiara sighed and lay back and relaxed. She even closed her eyes as she lay on her long chair. "He may be a lousy nerd, but at least he knows the importance of Cutie Marks. Good thing he got one during that song Sweetie Belle sang. I'm gonna enjoy using him. . ."

She hummed to herself contentedly, and Button joined in with his whistling. The two ponies harmonized with each other beautifully.

Meanwhile, Button Mash was digging through his bag. As he dug around, he soon came across a shinning pair of scissors. Button's eyes caught the light reflected by the instrument, and his hooves were begging to grab the scissors, to use them right away. Button touched the metal object with a hoof tip. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself as he stared at the shinning instrument. He whispered to it.

Now then my friend.
Now to your purpose.
Patience. Enjoy it.
Revenge can't be taken in haste.

"What's taking you so long, I ain't got all day," Diamond complained.

Okay!
. . .
And what talent does your Mark represent?

"To lead," Diamond said simply with a smirk, "I'm always in control."

"Of Sweetie Belle's misery" Button muttered darkly, loosing his fake smile for a few seconds.

"Huh? What was that?" Diamond said, opening her eyes and turning her head to look at Button.

"Oh, Nothing. Nothing," Button said, quickly putting his smile back on. "Now," he said as he took of the tiara and placed it on the small tale next to the filly's drink, "Let's get started."

Diamond lay back and closed her eyes again as Button began gently brushing her mane.

Cutie Markings. . .
Fascinating...
Special talents,
Anything...
Cutie Markings. . .
Are a wonder.
Cutie Markings!

Button recalled what he had read in that library book about giving massages, and as he brushed Diamond Tiara mane with his right hoof, he gently rubbed the filly's left shoulder with his left hoof. He accredited his excellent dexterity to extensive use of the Wiimote.

Being best at bossing or,
Being good at games.
Realization, then it's there.
Cutie Markings

Tiara breathed out pleasantly as Button massaged her. "Self-discovered. . ." she said.

Always with you

"Flashing. . .'

Stays forever

"Tingles slightly. . ."

Cutie Markings!

Soon, the two young ponies found themselves singing together as Button switched hooves, now brushing Tiara's mane with his left and massaging her right shoulder with his right.

Cutie Markings!

Finding gems in rocks or
Making loads of cash,
Coming out of nowhere, surprise!
Never will they leave you, they'll always stay, in death they still can remain there with you
Never will they leave
They're always three
They're there
Ah! Cutie Markings,

Button suddenly stopped brushing, but kept up the massage. He reached down with his left hoof and felt around the bag until he found the scissors.

In your mirrors,

"In your photos," Tiara said, still enjoying Button's gentle rubbing.

Letter-sealing,

"Purpose giving,"

Destiny-ing

At that moment, Button lifted his right hoof off of Diamond Tiara's shoulder, and slipped it under Diamond Tiara's mane, slowly lifting it up as the two of them went into the climax of their song.

How they make a pony sing!
Proof of heaven,
As you're living,

Button had lifted Diamond Tiara's mane up high. It looked as if she were hanging upside down and her hair was hanging down under her.

Cutie Markings! Yeah!
Cutie Markings! Yes!
Cutie Markings! Oh!

Button opened the pair of long scissors and slipped Diamond Tiara's mane in between the razor sharp blades.

Cutie Markings!
Cutie Markings!
Cutie Markings!

SNIP!

It was so heartbreaking, especially near the end. No matter how bad things were, Sweetie just got more and more determined that she was doing the right thing. Now :facehoof: let's examine the spell she discovered. Taking control of the musical routine that moves the plot, devilish and twisted. But she couldn't change reality, or physical form. And what happened to the ponies who weren't in the song? Nothing! She could only affect the ponies that were singing or, being sung at so to speak, participants in the song. Anyone participating in one of her songs ended up believing that what Sweetie wanted was the right thing to do. These songs have a cumulative effect. Everyone believed it was the right thing to ostracize, but after another song, to imprison Twilight. Rarity believed it was the right thing to shoot down Spike, then to outright hate him. Fluttershy really believed she was a monster. Everyone thought Spike was a jerk, and many songs added to that made them actually hunt him down and burn him at the stake (lol). Even Diamond wanted to be brave and resist, but she believed that there was no way she could because Sweetie made her a coward. And after that second song? Completely broken!

Whatever the conclusions of the song, any participants cannot think there is anything wrong with it, no matter how twisted or irrational. And the more songs they participate in, the deeper and harder to resist their delusion becomes.

Now, Sweetie Belle participated in every single song she sang. :trixieshiftright:

She can't be held accountable for the first song, since she didn't know it would do anything. And after that, she was under the effects of her own enchantment. Every song convinced her more deeply that manipulating ponies was the right thing to do, because that's what the enchantment does.

Basically, Sweetie Belle did nothing wrong, was compelled by a spell to attack Luna, and all the consequences of her actions were just one terrible accident after another. She's even more innocent than Spike. :twilightoops:

Sweetie Belle definitely committed assault and battery and mind control and all, but she was mind controlled to do so, by accident! But... Discord got away with premeditated cold-blooded murder, didn't he? He totally did! The real villain of the story and they're treating him like he saved the day. That's one smooth criminal!

4196129 Woah, didn't even think of that. Sweetie being controlled by her own spell? Perfect! :pinkiehappy:

4196129
Is mistaken, my dear friend. Discord saved the day: he rescued Spike, Sweet broke the spell and sent to Everfree where Spike found her. The rest was like all that Sweet did, the consequences of their own bad choices. However, agree on one thing: I kinda noticed that Sweetbelle would not be immune to his own corner and that was what made it increasingly vicious: his own spell, probably. :pinkiecrazy:

The way Spike Rarity took the coma was very romantic, I liked. :moustache::heart::raritywink:

The image of Smart Pants giant is now part of my nightmares, thank you. :twilightoops:

It hurts me to read that Sweet was killed and went to Tartaro, really. I wanted (too twisted, alias) that Spike could save her.:unsuresweetie:

4201566

I didn't say Discord didn't save the day. Just that he murdered Sweetie Belle. It sort of puts his heroism in perspective.

4211826
Discord not kill Sweetbelle, she committed suicide, because she had no courage to face their crimes, even Spike had given her forgiveness.:ajbemused:

4212659

And she wouldn't have committed suicide if Discord had intervened earlier, if Discord hadn't made her aware that everything she had done was wrong, all at once in less than 2 minutes, if Discord hadn't picked the exact time that would hurt her the most to snap her out of it, and if Discord hadn't then sent her to the wilderness leaving her upset and broken hearted with nobody to help her, nobody to stop her, and nobody to even apologize to. She wouldn't have committed suicide if Discord didn't do anything at all. When you drive someone to the depths of despair, then lock them in a room with a knife, I think that counts as murder.

Discord's whole schtick is getting ponies to do it to themselves so that he doesn't have to lift a finger. He's a master of manipulation. So there is no way he intended for this to work out any other way than Sweetie killing herself. He's too good to make a stupid mistake like that, so therefore he did it... deliberately.

4215757
You say Discord killed her , until his sentence is already wrong because she killed herself . In no time he did something that would lead to this , and even that she could no scarp final punishment alias .
The correct for q ue would you want to say : Discord was omission .
While Sweetbelle was interpreted by the jury as crazy , she should be in appropriate for this institution. You can point out the error to him, but can not claim the murder , or that he killed her , when clearly he has not done anything that saved everyone and stop her from following in his madness .
 How ? Follow me :
See, if so , for your thoughts ( through the common law ) , we can conclude that all criminals who have committed suicide after a guilty verdict actually been murdered , as they would have been driven to commit suicide by someone to show them the truth of their cruel acts . Therefore , the Nazi officers who hanged themselves in prosião before his execution by public hanging would have been actually murdered because the motive to kill was pretty much the same as it did not accept the condemnation. Although the situations are different causes are the same , no?
Conclusion : Sweetbelle escaped punishment when the trial without a jury in common law concluded that she was crazy . If you think Discord made a mistake, this was obviously not when he arrested her . Thus protecting herself . A more appropriate action , since the insane must be protected from themselves .

4215892

I'm petty sure someone guilty of a terrible crime would not be allowed to commit suicide. When a suicide happens despite your actions, it's not murder. I think if we abandoned our criminals in the uncharted wilderness with only a gun and a single bullet to their name, then it would be murder. Especially if we did it only to criminals who showed remorse.

Interesting how this conversation went right academic level in a single page of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", no?:raritystarry:

Full disclosure: I'm not generally that big a fan of in-universe songfics- and this didn't really change that taste- but as far as a narrative goes, dang you keep a brony hooked! I figured I'd check out a chapter of this in the morning before I went to work, read two chapters instead, and then finished the rest at work (it was a slow day, I'm no shirker:pinkiehappy:). I was so certain Sweetie would get redeemed somehow (perhaps w/Twilight's help, thus turning around Sweetie's opinion of her)- eh, getting offhandedly disposed of by the end credits was actually kind of funny.:rainbowlaugh:
One minor niggle- and again it's probably more my taste than anything substantial- I would have liked to actually see Celestia and Twilight's reconciliation scene. I was waiting for that for so long.:twilightsheepish:

I loved this story!!! Seeing Sweetie Belle slowly go mad from a power that she wasn't, and may never be ready for was great to see how she would abuse it. Though the Nightmares still haunt her, and I wonder what will happen? Will she ever get rid of them? I can't wait for the next chapter.

sorry to bother you but are you ever going to finish this I am not trying to sound rude but I just adore it really is great and I love it with a passion hope to see an update

When is the Friends on the Other side scene coming up?

I kinda wanted Sweetie Belle to just... win.

Is there a plan for a next chapter?

I go Looney! That's a song I want to see! Also when you're evil!

The good thing about unfinished fanfictions that appear to have been abandoned by their writer's is the fact that the fans of the story can imagine whatever ending they want to for the story. Case in point: for this story, it should either end with 'I Just can't wait to be king' (Sweetie Belle becomes queen of Equestria), 'Chop Suey' (Sweetie Belle kills herself to escape the power that she finds that she never wanted), or 'Madhouse' (it turns out that when the 'Want It, Need It' spell was first cast on her, she killed her friends in order to get the doll, which had long term effects on her ever since she realized what she did, and she's been in a mental asylum ever since, and this has all veen happening in her head.)

Good song for this
