Act XXIV: Portal

Scene i: Still Alive

In a quiet padded cell, Twilight Sparkle lay sleeping in her straight jacket. A sweet little smile spread across her face as she awoke with her eyes closed.

This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here: Huge success.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

I didn't panic.
I didn't give up, I did endure.

For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are dead.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying for Equestria's sake.

And the justice gets done.
And the good guys have won
For the ponies who are still alive.

Princess Celestia burst out of the doors of Canterlot Castle. She didn't care who saw her as she went on her mad dash to the mental hospital. A frantic expression was on her face, as well as the beginnings of tears.

Twilight still smiled as she lay in her cell. "A little while longer," she said, and she took a deep breath and let it out calmly.

I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart and killed me.

And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a cell.

As they burned it hurt because
I felt so sorry for you

Now these points I'm making make a beautiful line.
And now I'm done waiting, soon it all will be fine.

So I'm glad I got burned.
Think of all the things I've learned
For the ponies who are still alive.

Celestia burst through the doors of the hospital and ignored the surrounding ponies. Her mind was focused on one thing, and one thing only.

"I'd say I've got about a minute or two left. Thank you Starswirl. I doubt I'd be able handle this if it weren't for your future sight technique."

Go ahead and leave us.
I think we'd prefer you say goodbye.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.

The door to Twilight's cell burst open.

"Twilight!"

Scene ii: Want You Gone

The sunlight shone through the window of Diamond Tiara's window. A sunbeam shone on the filly's face as she opened her eyes. She let out a shocked breath and sat up in bed. She looked around her room with wide eyes. Her breath caught in her chest as her eyes fell upon her dresser. On top of it sat a fully repaired tiara.

The filly slowly stepped over to her dresser, and reached out to touch the object with her hoof. She then slowly lifted up her tiara, and let the sunlight glint off of it. She then gained a malevolent grin and put the tiara back onto her head. She let out a quiet little laugh as she spun around on her hooves and sighed as she leaned out her open window.

Well here we are again,
It’s always such a pleasure,
Remember when you tried to kill me twice?

Oh, how we laughed and laughed,
Except I wasn’t laughing,
Under the circumstances I’ve been shockingly nice.

You tried to play, you lost it,
That’s what I counted on,
I used to want you dead but,
Now I only want you gone.

Diamond Tiara stepped back from the window and swaggered towards her dresser. Soon she found her photo album and looked at the pictures of her and Silver Spoon.

She was a lot like you,
Maybe not quite as heavy,
Now little Silver Spoon's dead to me too.

One day she woke me up,
And showed to me the traitor,
It’s such a shame the same will never happen to you.

You’ve got your short, sad life left,
That’s what I’m counting on,
I’ll let you get right to it,
Now I only want you gone.

Diamond Tiara took out a picture of he and Silver Spoon at her Cutecenera. She gazed long and hard and the gray Earth Filly in the photo.

Goodbye, my only friend,

Diamond suddenly burst into a vile grin and glared loathingly at the photo.

Oh, did you think I meant you?

She ripped Silver Spoon out of the photo and cast it carelessly behind her.

That would be funny if it weren’t so sad,

Well you have been disowned,
I don’t need anyone now,
When I forget you maybe I’ll stop feeling so bad.

Go make some new disaster,
That’s what I’m counting on,
You’re someone else’s problem,
Now I only want you gone,
