Discord does not particularly care for Fluttershy's friend, Tree Hugger. So when she comes over to have her monthly mane treatment session with her, Discord directs her to the one mane stylist that could possibly make her mane worse: Zephyr Breeze.

Oh boy. Zephyr Breeze. The worst pony, hands down. Can he hold a fic on his own? Honestly, yeah.
Shakespearicles™ plays up Zephyr's innate patheticness to the right note while also showing he has, against all odds, improved himself and is at least apparently able to survive on his lonesome. Good for Zeph, I guess.
What surprises me about this is that it isn't shipping-shipping? At least, not yet. The narrative is clearly headed in that direction, and while I wouldn't say Tree Hugger deserves this guy, she could probably fix him.
I did absolutely appreciate that she is both more down to earth in this story than her one episode, and also grows pot in her basement. Also, there was a fun gag about love spells that I very much appreciated.
In all, this is a very nice little story about two characters who you don't see used a whole lot, and it promises more in the future, by which I mean there's a sequel that I will definitely want to read at some point.

Since his release and redemption, Discord has gotten to know Fluttershy's friends very well but he's never done the same with her family. As they're important to her (and she's important to him), the Lord of Chaos takes it upon himself to make the introductions.

Unfortunately, he decides that the best place to start is with her brother, Zephyr Breeze.

Soarin never really had any competition when it came to Rainbow Dash...not that he needed to, anyway. But when an obnoxious green pegasus flies in with the newest recruit, he decides he doesn't like the two of them together.

Slight spoilers for "Flutter Brutter"

Neither Sunburst nor Zephyr did much with their lives. Sunburst subsisted on the bare minimum of his magical talent, while Zephyr coasted from job to job, relying on others. When the two of them happen to meet in a hair salon and strike up a conversation, their pasts come to light in way that would be impossible for any other pony.

When Sky Stinger comes to Rainbow Dash for help with Vapor Trail, she figures it has to be better than paperwork, right?

The help that Vapor Trail actually needs might test that theory.

It's been a week since Zephyr Breeze graduated, and he shows no sign of leaving his parents' house. Fluttershy takes it upon herself to find him a job where he can apply his newfound skills, and a Bearer of Harmony certainly has connections at her disposal.

Of course, said connection may not be so happy about some fancy college colt twice her age flapping on her turf.

Princesses have this bad tendency to make everything they touch shiny, new and boring. But still the Everfree Forest remained, and Scarlet Script was in need of inspiration. He needed something wild and untamed, something dangerous perhaps that he could write about.
His trip takes an unexpected turn when he is followed back to the hotel by a bat pony filly. Everything else is put on hold as he tries to help her find her parents, which may require the assistance of somepony who works at that School of Friendship he hates, or somepony closely related at least.
What he discovers is that the filly's predicament may be much more dangerous than anything he could have hoped for, and it's up to him to finish her story before it comes back to bite her, so to speak.
