Among unicorns, it is traditional for the student to thank their teacher or professor upon graduating with some sort of small gift that properly reflects how much the student valued their instruction.

Twilight has been an alicorn for several months now, and she still hasn't found the perfect gift to give Celestia, who, after all, decided to skip over making Twilight a doctor and head straight to making her a Princess. What sort of gift could she probably give her?

It's been years since Sunset has had a good Hearth's Warming. After the events of last year, she almost wants to skip the holiday entirely, but her friends think they can do something that might change her mind.

Princess Celestia is high and mighty in a lot of ways, motherly and mentor-like in more. But her proteges have almost always been unicorns, with one or two pegasi, and not one earth pony in all of her over 1000 years of life. When Applejack, staying true to her Element of Honesty, even with the Princess, bluntly states that Princess Celestia understands little of what it's like to be an earth pony, the princess realizes the flaw in her understanding of her subjects. Turning to a newly reformed old friend, Celestia begs to be an earth pony for a day. What happens, nopony could have guessed.

Princess Celestia always thought she knew how her kingdom worked. The Unicorns used magic specialized to their jobs. Pegasi flew in the sky and handled the weather. And Earth ponies... Earth ponies... uhhmmm...

A group of humans attempt to escape a global nuclear war through the use of time travel. However, something goes wrong with Sam Mitchell's pod, flinging him far into the future, into a time where humans no longer exist and a race of sentient ponies now thrive as the dominant life form. He eventually comes to the attention of a certain purple unicorn, who aims to learn all she can of Sam and his civilization as well as help him adjust to his new life.

Can Sam handle living as the only human? Can Equestria, and Twilight in particular, handle the changes this alien brings?
