My life was simple, I lived alone, had a good job, very few friends, and my guns.
My names Matt. Matt Hewson, small time Mercenary without a care in the world. I lived day by day working all over the world, fighting in wars for money. My most recent job, Locate Haliaf Al Hassim, a Terrorist leader that has been causing trouble for the locals of Ta'if, Saudi Arabia. Simple job, into the Hell hole that is Saudi Arabia, hunt a man down, go home. But, things never go as planned, especially when I find myself in a forest.

Question is, Where am I? How did I get here? And how do I get back?

The year is 1989, Afghanistan.
The USSR, having recently suffered defeat after defeat in this 'desert Vietnam', has begun with withdraw its forces from the combat zone. A tank crew commanding a T-55AM-2 gets bogged down by a sand-storm, buttoned up and alone, they wait it out.

However, upon unbuttoning their tank, they find themselves no longer in the land of sand, but on a dirt road with trees all around them and a small village not to far ahead.
Trouble ensures when a Pink mare decides to bring her friend over to investigate this strange machine, and after dubbing it a golem, they attempt to study it.
The crew is not so please on the idea, and quickly make their escape with some rather unusual means.

When the commander of the tank team is captured by Celestia, the crew devise a plan to rescue him, but during the process, are manipulated by a certain villian to free him from his banished state.

In the year 2107, Humanity had finally unlocked the secret they had been looking to discover for well over a century: Interstellar Travel. This would turn out to be both a gift and a curse.

In 2570 after several centuries of prosperity, well over a thousand human colonies would band together to form an organization known as the Star League. In order to maintain peace across such a vast network of systems Hyper Pulse Generators were used in order to maintain rapid communication between worlds over hundreds of lightyears apart.

Two centuries would pass and the eventual destabilization of Star League would be through tense political views and threats from one world to another. The worlds under the Star League agreement were now begging for blood to be shed from systems inside of it's domain. A massive failure of the Hyperpulse Network only threw fuel onto the fire.

In 2780 Star League collapses and the section of planets closest to Terra referred to as the 'Inner Sphere' would be thrown into a war of conquest by the Successor States and the house banners in those states trying to claim dominance over one another. These brutal genocidal camapigns put Humanity back technologically nearly eight hundred years caused by four major time-frames of conflict between 2787 to 3025, called the first, second, third, and fourth Succession Wars.

With the darkages beginning to lift, and technology is getting back to possibly surpass what we once had who knows what the galaxy has to offer us in return.

No trace was ever found, and no explanation has been derived in what many call the most mysterious seaborne accident in history. It baffles researchers to this day.

This is their story. A story of Honor, Courage, and Commitment, fulfilling every word of the creed they aspire to. Tossed into a world divided, consumed by friends turned enemies leading massive power blocs, the crew of the Long Beach must work to restore freedom and democracy, all in the name of the mysterious forces of gold and blue that sent them there in the first place.

A Russian MVD Spetsnaz team is sent smashing into the ground after the Mil Mi-24 they were in was knocked out of the air. A short time later, the crew and passengers wake up to find themselves in the wreck of the helicopter - but nowhere near Moscow.

As they desperately attempt to find out where they are, they will discover that they are not alone: Other humans have also found themselves in similar situations. However, these disorganized forces may soon be fighting for their survival, against an enemy that they could never have planned for...

The original version of the story, as published 2013-2015, can be found here for those that want to read it as it was. Editing on the original story was done by The Rainbow Brony, and I am thankful for the time that he put into the story to make it better than it would have been otherwise.

Now, Weasel wakes up in a place where he is a unique being. The only one of his kind. Moulded by the harsh environment of a post-apocalyptic Moscow, Artyom was always the man to do what it took to get the job done; anything to protect the Metro and all of those that would rebuild humanity. He destroyed the Dark Ones to protect mankind and the final stand at D6 was no different. Faced between letting the Communists control the entire Metro and destroying the easiest method of sustaining thousands of people, Artyom took the route of sacrifice by killing himself and destroying D6.
