Vinyl and Octavia fic i came up with. inspired by Two's company, three's crowd. I did my best not to copy from other stories like it and to change things up up, but there's only so much you can do after you find a good base for characters you see for two seconds. I'd like some criticism, but only if it helps. I do NOT want random hating and if you see something a little too similar in my story tell me and I'll either give credit to the original owner of whatever it is, unless I came up with the Idea myself and it happens to be the same as another...then i don't care

A young mare, named Octavia ran away from her home, leaving her friends and family to be a famous cellist in Canterlot. Was it a good decision? Or was it the biggest mistake of her life?

Everypony used to know the name Vinyl Scratch, but she's been forgotten. Everypony knows the name Octavia Philharmonica, and it will be known long after she dies. Vinyl Scratch is a DJ by the alias DJ-PoN3. Octavia is a world-class cellist. What do they have in common? I have no idea. Why do they meet? Not a clue. Why don't we find out?

"I dream of you when I'm asleep, you even appear when I'm awake daydreaming. There is no escaping you. I just wish it was true."

Octavia has one month to finish writing a music piece commemorating the grand opening of the new amphitheater in Canterlot and she has high hopes that the performance of the ensemble would lead to bigger and better things for everyone. However, after experiencing a dream involving the princess of the night, Octavia has become distracted, stressed, and even worse a bit love sick. Can Octavia continue to put her heart into her music, now that it seems to have found something (or somepony) else to attach itself to?

Vinyl Scratch and Octavia? Polar opposites. So what happens when you put them in an enclosed space with unlimited time?

A whole lot of strife.

Returning to Ponyville was hard on Octavia, she needed to talk to her long lost friend. Vinyl. She can't wait, but at the same time she is afraid. Afraid of being hated.

Vinyl lives life to the fullest but wants to know what love is. Octavia got her heart broken and never wants to get close to anyone ever again. How will things play out when Vinyl sets her eyes on Octavia? Will she change Octavia's mind or will someone get in the way?

Music...it's what drives her, what gives her life. Vinyl Scratch lives for the next thrum of the bass, the next stomp of dancing hooves...but lately, she finds she wants more. What more could there be than living your dream? As she ponders this, she may find that she needs a guide to walk with her through the maze of life...someone who cares about who she is, instead of what she can do.

Rated T for strong, crude language, sexual situations, and use of alcohol.

Vinyl was going to be a prodigy. Everyone said so. Her teachers continually bumped her up through different music classes, and her peers were envious of her skills on the piano. Her feel and comprehension of jazz were beyond compare. But of course, the daughter of such a famous musician can only be expected to outperform her father.

However, when Vinyl's family is broken apart, she begins to make some decisions that could cause her to take her childhood dream as a casualty. Heartbroken and defeated, Vinyl was consigned to her fate until she discovered a classical prodigy who shows her the dream she could have chased. Octavia represents everything Vinyl ever wanted for herself, and so much more; she gives Vinyl a new sense of courage, of hope, and a new inspiration to dream about. But can Vinyl escape her fractured past to pursue her dream?

Octavia is going broke. With not many high paying jobs this time of year she opts for a roommate. And this particular dubstep loving unicorn will turn her world upside down.

My second multi-chapter fic. Tell me what you think. Teen rating is more for stuff being said, but if something does come up I will mention it at the beginning of the chapter.
