After 'I am Octavia', Octavia finally caved in. Not everyone can lose their best friend turned life partner, and not everyone can stand up from it. She leaves Vinyl after a devastating phone call, and she regrets it, but will she be in time to reconcile with her love?

This story is a sequel to Regret

From the author of 'I Am Octavia' and 'Regret', I bring you the threequel in the next series, I Fall in Fall. (As usual, you don't have to read the others to read this one, although you may understand more in-depth.)

A change of events, a change in lifestyle. As life progresses for Vinyl and Octavia, one learns the simplicity of life, and one has to treasure what she already has. Among these stepping stones to life, a teal mare pays more than just a visit, and a paparazzi goes all out to wreck their relationship.

The question is, why? And how does one cope when they can't get problems to go away?

The answer is music. Music is the key to everything.

Ever since I got trapped in Equestria, Vinyl Scratch has been my best friend and Marefriend. The fact that she is a friggin DJ makes her all the more cooler!!!

Octavia Melody is an up-an-coming cellist, and her band has been asked to perform in Canterlot. It's a dream come true for the young mare, but a hidden past and an anger for the magically gifted that she can't conceal boil to the surface and threaten to ruin both her reputation and the chance to perform in the famous city.

It isn't her fault, though; the unicorns are such cheats. They all use their simple magic to get ahead when earth ponies have only their bare hooves.

However, when Octavia finds herself unable to escape from a rather eccentric unicorn working backstage, she finds herself questioning what has been ingrained in her for decades.
What can you do, when you have nobody but a certain enemy with you to confide in?

Vinyl Scratch and Lyra Heartstrings are vampires, creatures of the night whose civilization has lived in humanity's shadow for thousands of years. They are self-sufficient and prideful, only venturing out of their hidden cities to replenish their stock of blood. But ties to past lives are not so easily severed.

When Lyra catches wind of supernatural happenings in her hometown of Canterlot, she and Vinyl take it upon themselves to investigate the cause.

Are They or Aren't They? Vinyl and Octavia have been best friends and radio co-hosts for years, and despite everypony thinking they're together, Vinyl insists they aren't . . . but Vinyl may just need a good push. Good thing Derpy comes along with a game of Truth or Dare!

Vinyl Scratch reminisces about her University days where she spent more time with her friends Lyra, Octavia and Bon Bon. Now alone, she thinks about what was and what could have been. She follows the trail of memories and wishes she could alter them as she relives the events of her college years and tries to make sense of how things have changed.

She takes comfort in the memories of kind loyalty from her best friend Lyra Heartstrings, Lyra's adorable obsession with criminal justice major Bon Bon, and her first meetings with the love of her life, Octavia Melody...

Not that anypony knows why, though, and Octavia isn't about to share embarrassing secrets.

Ever since Octavia first caught sight of Vinyl Scratch on the Canterlot streets, Octavia's been in love with her. The problem is that Vinyl barely knows Octavia exists.

But love will always find a way, and Octavia is determined to win Vinyl's heart. So she gives Vinyl a call. And sends her a text. And a letter. And waits for her outside of work. And follows her around town. And rents an apartment across the hall from hers. And goes through her trash.

Not everypony understands the deep love Octavia and Vinyl share- including Vinyl. But that's okay. Octavia will make her see that they belong together, forever. FOREVER FOREVER FOREVER FOREVER FOREVER FOREVER

Vinyl Scratch was always an odd one, seemingly hating classical music yet always willing to go with Lyra and Bonbon with a little convincing. One evening they see Octavia perform, and the songs are more than familiar to Vinyl. Realizing that Octavia is playing songs that Vinyl herself had composed when she was younger. Over time and through many trials with her new friends, Octavia discovers that there's a little more to Vinyl than she initially thought.
