King Sombra’s dark influence was obliterated by the Crystal Heart, and the villain is well and truly dead. But when he attempts to steal the afterlife of an innocent victim, a human spirit is left hurtling towards Equestria, where this unfortunate soul is revived into the only vessel available: the reconstituted body of King Sombra himself.

Thus, a cheerfully oblivious alien is crammed into the form of the most evil and malicious being Equestria has ever known. Not that Shining Armor and Cadence know this, of course. As far as they are concerned, the King is back and he’s lost his fricking mind.

(A/N: This story takes place before the events of Gear of War 3, and between seasons 2 and 3 of MLP: Friendship is Magic. I've never read most of the supplemental material for Gears, so forgive me if I get some of the background stuff wrong. I'll do my best to research it/correct myself.)

But when an ancient villain appears, commanding an army of Heartless, will Fortune and Lucky be able to save Equestria - and the rest of the world - from descent into darkness?

If you're worrying that I'm going to break characters by introducing Kingdom Hearts characters into the pony universe, don't. There won't be any Kingdom Hearts characters in this story, except for the Heartless, and there won't be any traveling between worlds. Given the option, I wouldn't even even call it a proper crossover. It's more like the Kingdom Hearts mythology applied to the MLP universe.

Pinkie Pie was known for disappearing and reappearing all over Ponyville, heck even all of Equestria. But what happens when the pink mare reappears and there's a hitchhiker along for the ride that only she can hear?

"Well, it's not a party, I can tell you that much."

Will the poor deluded mare go insane?

"No"

Will her friends abandon her?

"Ugh, no!"

Will she ever learn that eating cake every day will make her plot bulge up like a particularly round and unsightly balloon?

"N-hey! My butt's not that-!"
