What can I say? It's a rewrite of the Happy Holidays comic with details altered to fit the continuity of my early Recovery Arc and Burritoverse entries. The only reason I made this at all is because it's necessary to set up a later, more important, story. I hope you'll enjoy anyway. Obligatory Guide Link.

Starlight Glimmer has gone back in time. Each time Twilight tries to stop Starlight, she fails and is flung back through the portal and into a broken, twisted Equestria, ravaged by wars or monsters, each version worse than the one before, barreling toward the destruction of the world. Until she lands in a version of Equestria that ... isn't worse. It seems unchanged, happy, normal. The only real difference she can find on the cutie map is that her castle isn't there ...

... but the library still is.

While following the recently reunited PostCrush on their new tour, a severe storm leaves Sunset and Pinkie Pie in a motel room with nothing to do. Pinkie Pie discovers a chess set and asks Sunset to teach her how to play while they wait for the power to come back on.

Only Princess Twilight and Principal Celestia can save the world, but it's really not their top priority.

There's nothing like a surprise library inspection for discovering code violations, especially when the pony conducting that examination is determined to find something. But Twilight keeps the tree running to her own standards, and that means true offenses are hard to come by. Really, there's just one little potential issue.

'Little' as in 'the crests come up slightly short of your spine. Oh, and it breathes fire.'

For some strange reason, the local trotting incarnation of bureaucracy has a problem with this.

But when Starlight comes home one day cursing her girlfriend and declaring their relationship has ended, Twilight must rise to the occasion and try to help these two move past their disagreements and mend fences before their love is lost to the ages.

But perhaps some wounds are too great to be healed with kind works and civil discussions.
