Fires will fade, and darkness will consume the world. Over the ages countless Lords of Cinders have risen and fallen. All of them having completed their quest: To link the First Flame.

The Unkindled One stands before the First Flame. It's just an ordinary bonfire, right? He is tired, broken, and only wants to rest.

A summoning sign appears. Thinking it is the Firekeeper, the Unkindled One reaches out for it.

What he summons, however, shocks him.

Just a one-shot that popped up in my mind while finishing Dark Souls III. The Unkindled One had been through a lot of pain and suffering. And I could only think of one pony to comfort him while he pondered over his next move.

Fluttershy has returned to Equestria after being temporally displaced to another world, where she was raised by a loving but insane family. She didn't return alone, though. Her new family came back with her, now working for Princess Luna, their new Fortress being built near to Ponyville. All involved would need time to adjust.

Unfortunately, time waits for no one, pony or human. Still, the former RED Team - now Team RED MOON - is used to handling craziness. After all, they live under the same roof.

Red Team had been given an assignment. It wasn't the usual sort of assignment. They were assigned to defend their base 'until further notice'...and then never received notice. All announcements sounded pre-recorded, and enemy assaults were few and far between. The enforced inactivity was slowly fraying the bonds of the team...

...until something unexpected arrived. A tiny creature appears one day in their fortress, in need of compassion and care. Somehow, she finds that in this group of strange individuals, as she becomes their baby.

This is an army of Equestria, seeking to end the war of attrition by stamping out the human pestilence. Wehrmacht Hauptmann Herman Schott stands atop the Reichstag as the last human in Europe, waiting for the Equestrian to claim him as well. With nothing but the captured flags of conquered nations, a Luger, and some stick grenades, can he make a final tribute to humanity that will not be forgotten?

This is your typical, stereotypical HIE story exposing all the HIE stereotypes, but like, compressed and crammed into one short chapter, making the pacing extremely awkward and fast. Yeah that's pretty much it.
