Mistakes.
Everybody makes them.
Not all mistakes are equal.
Some are far less costly than others, and some can spell disaster.
When mistakes have such disastrous effects that you know it was not meant to be this way, you try to fix them.
When alicorns make mistakes, the fate of the entire world can change on a whim.
I am Princess Twilight Sparkle. I know where it went wrong.
I may not be able to undo my mistakes, but I can prevent them from happening to myself again.

When Twilight loses control of her magic, she finds herself in the realm of the the eternally damned, Tartarus. In order to survive she is forced to learn and change. However, when Twilight finally escaped from Tartarus, how will Equestria deal with a Twilight who has been forged in hellfire?

Author's Note: I want to point out that the Dark and Gore tags are not all consuming. They are there only by necessity. There are going to be some dark material in here, but nothing grim.

On the same note, Twilight is the only anthro in the story, and there is an in-story reason for it, so don't let that big nasty Anthro tag scare you.

One final thing. It has been some time since I've done any real work on this story. To make clear how long, this portion of the author note was added July 5th, 2019. This story is currently sitting in that little area between "Hiatus" and "Cancelled". Time will tell if I revitalize it.

When Twilight Sparkle slipped beneath the covers last night, everything had been fine. She had friends whom she loved, a teacher she adored, and a bright future ahead of her. But when she woke up, her blankets and quilts had been replaced by hospital gowns and padded restraints.

Everything is wrong and nothing makes sense; even her friends have changed. The doctors keep telling her that she is sick, that none of it was real and that it was all in her head. Yet she remembers a life far beyond the hospital walls. She couldn't have made it all up on her own. They must be lying… right?

After putting on the Element of Magic, Sunset Shimmer was shown just how much of a monster she really is. But that wasn't all the Elements did to her.

Sunset has now been forced to serve penance by answering any question truthfully and by doing anything asked of her, whether she wants to or not.

And she really doesn't want to.

Until all of the hatred in her heart is gone, Sunset is at the whim of her peers, unbeknownst to them of course. Can her new "friends" help her down the road to redemption?

Magical beings besides the Sirens have been banished to the human world. The Nightmare finds its way to Luna and persuades her to merge with it, on the pretense of protecting the students from even worse monsters. But when she starts to become a monster herself, it's up to the new Team Harmony to set things right. This is NOT a retread of the pilot episode.

Twilight Sparkle, element of magic and hero to equestria, woke one day to find herself in a completely different world. There she is a pampered noble's daughter, and the most promising young sorceress of her era.

She tried to play along, but she quickly became lonely and began to miss her best friends. So she snuck off, out of her father's estate and into the city, drawn by a familiar pull that she could not quite understand. There she encounters the dopplegangers of her friends.

Now she needs to find a way to get back home, by finding her own doppleganger, while beset by mercenaries hired by Shining Armour and her parents to get her back.

But are the the dopplegangers really the elements of harmony she once knew and loved? What is up with the imaginary versions of her friends hanging out in Twilight's head? Will returning home bring them with her?

Should she really be working with these violent creatures if she doesn't know for sure?
