One day, Rainbow Dash notices something about Sunset Shimmer: she only eats salads, fruit, and non-meat products. So she decides to dare the former pony to try a meat product the next day at lunch. Little do they know what's on the menu that day...

It's been there for as long as I can remember. Staring me in the face, a part of everything I was, everything I am. Only recently have I begun staring back at it, trying to find out what it truly is.
But it's true what they say; when you stare into the Abyss, the Abyss stares into you.

Sunset Shimmer sits alone on Pinkie Pie's porch reflecting on her past actions and the scars on her arms that these actions left behind. Rainbow Dash joins her but is curious about what she's hiding underneath her sleeves.

After the Fall Formal, everything was supposed to go back to normal, even turn out better. Sunset was going to have friends and they were going to teach her the ways of friendship. At least, that's what Twilight said would happen. Instead, Sunset is seen as a pariah by everyone including those who said they would be her friends. All except Fluttershy, who now has to save Sunset from ending up in a worse place than ever. But can she do it?

Sunset Shimmer wants nothing more than to be able to enjoy the holidays with her friends, but the festive season does nothing more than remind her of how alone and cold she's been for so many years. Is it possible for her to learn to love the holidays again?

Maybe with the help of some friends, she can.

Sunset Shimmer spends a quiet, ordinary afternoon and evening at home.

After what happened at the Fall Formal, Rarity comes to see that Sunset Shimmer's become little more than a recluse, a mere shell of her former self. It also doesn't help that no one in the school is even willing to give her a chance. Rarity sees this as inexcusable. So, honoring their promise to Twilight, she convinces the girls to try their hardest to get Sunset out of her shell by having the girl take part in their activities.

But will a simple shared interest be enough able to open up Sunset's rapidly closing heart?

A former villain on the road to reformation, still facing the consequences of her past actions. Five girls, together again, thinking fondly of the help and guidance they got from the pony princess from another dimension. And one troubled boy stuck in the middle, who has given up on love, and life.

Sunset Shimmer has reformed, but she knows she must right her past wrongs—there is a boy on the roof of Canterlot High, declared worthless and unlovable by Sunset herself, ready to believe her right and jump to his death. With help from Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, Sunset must talk him down and convince him that what she said in the past isn't true, and that he deserves to live.

Meanwhile, the boy thinks back on his numerous attempts to prove to her, and to himself, that she was wrong. His solution: ask the five most perfect girls in school out on a date. Their mutual response: no. He must learn that love doesn't work that way, that a lack of romance is not a lack of love, and that he desperately needs help before it's too late.
