Prism Bolt has been coasting through life since his brief moment in the sun during Tornado Duty. His brother, Icy Storm, has set his sights on being a flier greater than even their mother, to the exclusion of all else. Will the turbulence from this event give their lives new direction, or will it send them spiraling into disaster? The time has come for the children of Rainbow Dash to choose their own paths in life. These two brothers, different as night and day, will find that perhaps they have more to learn from each other than they realized.

After her ascension into an alicorn, Rainbow Dash managed to dodge royal responsibilities in order to stay with her friends and try to grow closer with Twilight Sparkle, the mare she’s fallen head over hooves for. Everything in her life was just perfect.

Well, except for the fact she’s got meddling princesses dogging her every step, alicorn powers that run on emotion instead of concentration causing random weather around Ponyville depending on her mood, and this new guy on the weather team that’s trying to attract the local librarian’s interest.

Oh yeah, there’s also some big evil bad guys plotting stuff in the background too. But…who has time to deal with that when love is on the line?

Alright guys, this is my first story, just to let you all know. Another quick note is that I haven't sent this through an editor yet either. So, feel free to give me your constructive criticism, and maybe some tips for the future, as I am pretty new out here. While typing this up, I'm not even sure how to submit a story, let alone edit this later for chapters, just to give you a hint as to my level of experience. Rainbow Dash never really bought that Gilda just became a jerk just like that, there has to be more to it, she was sure of it. This wasn't the Gilda she knew back at Junior Speedsters camp. Unfortunately though, she can't ask what went on through her head, for all Rainbow knows, Gilda is long gone. So what better way to learn about a griffon than to be the griffon? Convincing Twilight might be a whole other story though!

Gilda's heart is filled with unbridled emotions, doubt, self-hatred, and regret. She wishes she could have changed the way she acted at Pinkie Pie's party, and now she feels like there is no way for anyone to forgive what she's done. Now with seemingly no other choice, Gilda finds a solution in one of the worst ways possible...

Gilda has some trouble dealing with her new feelings for Dash. Meanwhile, Twilight learns about the magic of emotion.

RD has been born an alicorn, and she's very confused about life in general. She's never eaten an apple, never gotten a cutie mark, never have even known about The Wonderbolts. She does all of these for the first time with hurdles in the way.

Equestria has changed. War threatens to tear the world apart, and Rainbow Dash finds herself caught in the center of it all, allied with the least likely of creatures.
The royal sisters have vanished, leaving Princess Twilight to take charge in their stead, bringing the eye of King Gallows of the Gryphon Kingdom. He begins wonder if Equestria has the strength needed to defend itself any longer.
The locations of the element bearers have become obscure at best, Twilight and Dash being the only two in contact with one another.
Having grown over the years, Dash has attained a greater wisdom, appreciation, and knowledge of the idea behind loyalty. This new grip on her fate allows her to channel the element in her possession as an individual, and pushes her to find her lost friends before they're lost for good, for their country may need them in this dark time. This is the first in a series I plan to visit a number of times with Rainbow taking the role of our main protagonist, however as this is a large scale fantasy adventure, there will be multiple heroes with their own parts to play as well when the party splits up.

Another little tidbit that could interest you readers, is that most of the chapters of these stories will also be the titles of various songs from the power metal genre, a favored genre of mine that helped inspire and push forward this project. There will be a link to each song on the title at the beginning of the chapter if you wish to listen, but keep in mind that the story and song share little more than a title.

A thousand years ago Nightmare moon was defeated but she was not the only evil to disappear all those years ago. Now, that very same evil, one of Celestia’s greatest secrets will be revealed for all of Equestria to see and on that day, that evil will return once again to enact its vengeance upon those who attempted to destroy it so long ago, only this time, Equestria may not survive its brutal resurrection.
