Spike is blackmailed by the Cutie Mark Crusaders into helping them get their Cutie Marks, when they find out about his love for Rarity. After a small accident cause by the four, Spike overhears Rarity ranting negatively about a certain "him". In the depths of misery, Spike begin's unintentionally spreading his sorrow to everyone around him. It'll be up to Rarity to bring Spike out of his pain and back to his normal happy self.

Originally written from June of 2011 to September of 2011. Before Season 2 aired, and how I would see the reveal of Spike's secret.

Still mopey after Rarity married a faraway Prince, Spike spends his teenage dragon days in bed eating ice cream. Twilight annoyed by his dreary behavior, gets help from a friend to set Spike up on a date. The lucky mare? One of Equestria's fastest rising Deejays!

Ever since moving to Ponyville, Twilight has neglected something: her other residence. The rooms she used in the Canterlot Archives are still filled with her possessions. It's been nearly a year, and the Archives want her to clear out already so the place can go to the new departmental librarian. She has until sunset -- or anything still there just might remain so. Spike, knowing the deadline is hours away from arriving, recruits the Bearers to help her.

But Twilight doesn't want help.

A deadline is in front of her, and she's -- stalling.

They have until sunset...

Detective Babs Seed has lived in Manehattan her entire life. Nothing really much surprises her anymore. She's seen good, she's seen bad. What she hasn't seen is a dragon from Ponyville in a very long time.

After a request by her cousin, Babs lets Spike stay with her over time. When it's clear he's having issues of his own, Babs decides to give him the Manehattan treatment in order to learn more about him. However, she may be learning more then just a new friend in this case. She might be learning what it means to fall in love.

When Applejack is left alone to run the farm, she gets some unexpected help from Spike. As the two spend time together, Spike starts to see Applejack in a new way he'd never thought was possible. What are these feelings, and what will become of the two friends?

This was credited on DeviantART as the first AppleSpike (Applejack X Spike) fic. I don't know how many other AppleSpike fics are here, so maybe somepony can help me out.
