Discord is delighted to have a visitor despite his imprisonment, and ends up sharing his thoughts, memories of an old battle, and a strange gift.

What if the villains were allowed to win without a fight? Would all of their plans bear them the fruits they so desired?
Probably not, especially when their royal adviser is Twilight Sparkle.

A collection of (continuous) One-shots in which our heroes don't have any epic fights with villains, and simply allow the power of logic to crush all of the hopes and wishes of the would-be rulers of Equestria.

...The Continuum feels this species may be a real threat to the Q. However, they also show a unique ability to contain their power. They do not appear to use their abilities for power, greed, or war. We need to see if the species as a people are a threat to the Continuum and not just their abilities.”

“And locking me away in a statue, to rot away in a garden, doesn’t show that?” The face on the statue squirmed and struggled to free the rest of its body.

“No. It doesn’t,” said Q. “But it would seem an opportunity has presented itself. The Enterprise is heading for this region of space. Perhaps you could utilize their presence to…provoke…a situation?”

Both Q started grinning together. “Oh you know me too well, Q. I always enjoy seeing my favorite starship captain.”

The blond Q reanimated the rest of the statue. Discord stepped off the pedestal onto the soft grass. “This is going to be so much fun,” said Discord as his shape began to contort and transform. Within moments a familiar figure in a Starfleet uniform was standing where Discord had been a moment before. As the pair started walking away the blond Q said, “Just remember, Q. This isn’t just some random species to be toyed with. Any species RELATED to the Q, can KILL the Q!”...

Twilight asks Discord for a game of chess. Discord agrees - in order to make a point.

And in order to ask Twilight to complete one simple task.

A human makes a rather unique entrance into Equestria.

Twilight stands and watches.

When facing Twilight Sparkle, Nightmare Moon was given a choice: redemption or revenge. What if she had chosen the latter? A grim fate awaits Equestria, but in a time of greater strife and conflict, Discord's return is accelerated. While he expected to bring chaos, he did not anticipate that he would end the Longest Night and bring hope and joy back to the land.

Discord struggles to reconcile his nature with his desire for admiration. While Twilight's friends strive to carve a new life in the ever-shifting Equestria, she searches for Celestia, the only one who can bring harmony back to her lands. But Nightmare Moon also seeks her sister in a desperate attempt to find her place in the world. New dangers lurk in the wild and more threaten to fall over Equestria. Nightmare Moon's decision broke the balance of the world. Will Equestria ever turn to peace, or will the spiral of chaos and destruction be the end of everything?

(An alternate history, this story takes the universe established by the canon and explores one possible outcome if Princess Luna had not been redeemed.)

On one of her rare (very much so) days off from royal duties, Princess Twilight just wants a little time to herself without having to resolve any crazy shenanigans of her subjects (magic, science, magical science, and the always informative sex-ed). Of course, such a blessing is mere wishful thinking in Ponyville.

Discord drops by looking to show the lavender alicorn his newest invention; Chaos Ball, a game for the whole family which combines all the greatness of bowling, chess, and dodgeball (hail the almighty bag of randomness). She doesn't want to play, of course, but the spirit of chaos has ways (many involving five-eyed, mini-skirt wearing, winged lizard/squirrel hybrids) of getting ponies to do what he wants.

Can Princess Twilight beat the draconequus at his own game, or will she suffer permanent psychological damage from playing?

This story is a sequel to A Pony's Sympathy

Following Discord's last escape from stone [as seen in A Pony's Sympathy], Twilight Sparkle sought to understand his role in the keeping of Balance in Equestria

Her want to understand sparked an alliance of sorts, a kind of understanding between them. Although having one pony in his corner has done little to convince the rest.

His lack of empathy and understanding of a pony's sensibility has been tolerated by Celestia.

But while both the princesses and the bearers of the Elements of Harmony struggle with even more dire problems, Discord is forced into a lesson of his own, and it could not have come at a more inopportune time.

Continuing the story of A Pony's Sympathy, the fledgling friendship between the Spirit of Chaos and the Element of Magic may determine the fate of the ponies, and the way both sides of harmony regard one another.

The alignment of stars can strongly affect certain magic and Discord sees a narrow window of opportunity for his most complicated and yet simple scheme ever.

The cost of failure will be high and the Alicorn monarchs will certainly not take kindly to the amount of energy used.
One mistake and all of Equestria would be bearing down on him if there was even an Equestria left.
