Introduction: The following Journal entries belong to James Tinwool of the 24th Royal Infantry, who disappeared the day before the Battle of the Somme in 1916. The journal was discovered months after the battle, but James himself was never found during the war. The dates in the journal correspond to before, during and after the battle, however, the journal states that he was nowhere near the battlefield. Some scholars believe that the dates between June 30th to September 5th is pure fantasy that he wrote to cope with his shell shock. James Tinwool himself, who was found years after he reappeared back in England, up to his death in 1948 always made the statement: “Everything that I've written in that journal is true. All of it.” We leave this up to the reader as well as the listener to judge on the authenticity of this story.

After being mocked by his best friend Caramel for still being single, Pokey Pierce encounters a pony named Berry Punch. Despite just wanting to make sure she doesn't hurt herself in her intoxicated state, Pokey notices that Berry seems to be sticking around the blue unicorn.

When an accident takes the life of acrobat Spindle Wire, Private is once again called to investigate. But when he arrives at the circus, he's met by Trixie. Turns out, this circus holds a lot of personal memories for her. The pair arrive and find that the circus is a lot darker than the bright lights would have you believe. Especially when Trixie vanishes mysteriously and a note is found: "If you want her to live, Kill the Ringmaster"

Afte another fail money attempt, Flim and Flam get into a fight. Flim decides to leave, much to Flam's unknown dismay. He goes to town to town, city to city, but run out none the less. When he enters Ponyvile, he is ambushed by the mane 6. A green mare comes to his rescue. She takes him in and cares for him. She teaches him everything he'll need to know to get his reputation out of the gutter. This mare has given him something he's never had before.
