Chapter 19: Goodbye My Friends

Chapter 19

Goodbye My Friends

The two large alicorns held each other in a teary embrace. The red haired goddess’s horn glowed and Celestia’s horn was restored to it’s former glory, Luna who’s eyes filled with tears as she embraced the large Alicorn. “I’ve missed you two so much!” The large being said with tears running down her face.

“How are you here? What is going on?” Celestia asked.

“At the time of my death I split my soul up.”

“Into the Elements of Harmony. I remember.” Celestia said as she cried.

“Yes, but before that I entrusted a bit of my soul to the Crimson Knights.” She said as she broke the hug.

“Why?”

“The Crimson Knights are all that remain of my personal guard. You probably don’t remember him Tia, but I fell in love with my guard captain. Crimson Blade.” The ponies looked at one another in shock. “We were both so young and I was so lonely. In order to keep him alive I implanted a piece of my soul within him. He had a family of his own and I couldn’t be happier for him, he gave me the two things I cherished the most.” She said as she looked at the two Alicorns who began to cry again. “Crimson knew the world needed some-pony to look after it after I had gone. He began experimenting with soul transfer spells.” The White Queen glanced over at the grey stallion who gave her a nod. “Unfortunately, Crimson’s wife found out about our love and retaliated with violence, we tried to assure her that it was in the past, she didn’t believe us and took Celestia and Luna from me. Crimson tracked her down and was forced to deal with her.” She said in a low tone.

“He-he killed his own wife for us?” Luna said in tears.

“No, he didn’t kill her, she had already absorbed a bit of Alicorn magic from you two. She was never able to fully heal her injuries.”

“What?”

“She lost all connection to her former self.” She said as she walked over to the crying dark Queen.

“IT WASN’T FAIR YOU STOLE HIM FROM ME!” Chrysalis yelled with tears in her eyes. The ponies looked in shock at the whimpering Queen. “DAMN YOU TO HELL FAUST!” She yelled as she tried to shrink away. The Changeling was stopped by the grey stallion.

“I hate to interrupt this touching family reunion but what are we going to do?” The dark ghostly unicorn asked.

“Valid point, why did you summon me Cross?” Faust asked as she looked at the grey stallion.

“I need you to use your shield.” He said in a stern tone. The white Queen looked at him in astonishment.

“Has it gotten that bad?” Cross pointed to the window and let out a sigh. Faust let out a gasp at the sight of the Changeling horde fighting the royal guard and ghostly apparitions.

“I’m out of options. I’m sorry my Queen. I failed you.”

“You know what will happen if you use that spell don’t you?”

“Yes.”

“I see. Is there anything I can do for you?” She asked in a low tone. Cross whispered something to the mare who gave him a smile. “So it shall be.” Her horn flared and several beams shot out and connected with the butler, the large black wolf. Suddenly multiple forms began to appear in front of them. The ponies noticed that the Jeeves was no longer an apparition and the large dog began to move. The small forms revealed themselves to be the orphans with confused looks on their faces. Cross smiled at them and let out a single tear.

“Thank you.” He trotted over to the group of mares who looked at him with confusion and shock spread across their faces. He stopped in front of Fluttershy who had tears running down her face. “I’m so sorry Shy, but this is goodbye.”

“No. Please no.” She said as she hugged him.

“Do me a favor, look after Ace. That idiot can't take care of himself.”

“Sir please.” Jeeves interjected.

“Jeeves, look over the little ones. They need you.” He said as he looked at the foals.

“Yes sir!” He said as he began to cry. Cross locked his lips with the yellow mare and let a single tear roll down his cheek. He gave The Alicorn Queen a nod and trotted over to the battered Changeling.

“I’ll kill you!” She yelled.

“This is the end, for us both.” His right hoof morphed into a claw, Chrysalis closed her eyes waiting for the pain. She felt warm liquid splash against her face. She looked in shock to see that the stallion had drove the claw into himself. Cross let out a cry of pain as he funneled his magic into his claw. The mares watched in horror as he pulled out a small white ball from his chest. “You wanted power? TAKE IT!” He shoved the white ball into the changelings chest.

The Changeling Queens surface began to glow as a bright white light showed through the cracks. The grey stallion’s eyes began to glow along with the Queens. Their bodies began to crack as the light showered through. Faust’s horn glowed and a massive shield enveloped every stallion and mare in Canterlot. A massive white beam rocketed through the ceiling of the grand hall and created a hole in the sky. The ponies watched in wonder as the bright star exploded and spread into the atmosphere. Down below the changeling horde began to burst into white flames. The streets of Canterlot became ignited with a beautiful white flame, the royal guards looked in surprise as the changelings were turned into ash and their fallen comrades were beginning to breath again. The flames stopped and quickly started to shoot back towards the castle and fuel into the grey stallion.

A blinding light filled the room, as the ponies looked the once Dark Queen had been turned to stone. Cross staggered back from the statue that slowly began to crumble. Cross had returned to his normal size and his dragon features had vanished. Cross looked back at the group of mares and smiled. “Goodbye.” He said as his body slowly turned to stone, his face still smiling with the memories he made with his friends.
