Tartarus: the fabled prison said to hold all of the demons of Equus at bay.

Few truly know what lies behind the impenetrable doors Cerberus guards. Some say that it is a pit, infinite in it's depth and darkness, from which there is no return. Other claim it to be a hellish plain, filled with fire and pain and suffering, to punish the demons for their sins.

All of them are wrong.

Tartarus is small. An inescapable cell for a single prisoner. But the tales about it's purpose are not false.

For this captive human holds the key to unleashing upon Equestria forces which have not been seen for centuries, forces which predate Equestria by many an age.

And soon, he shall be free.

My name’s Marcus. Marcus Cortez. I’m currently a freshman at CUFTA. You don’t know what that means? Well, it stands for “Canterlot University for the Arts.” While it is a little unsettling to go to college in a completely different world from my own, and while being a human in a school full of mostly ponies is a little intimidating, I’m doing fine so far. I don’t have to worry about roommates, since I don’t live in a dorm. I live with my aunt.

Her name is Celestia. Princess Celestia.

You’re probably wondering how a human could be the nephew of a pony, and an alicorn princess, no less. Well, it’s quite the story.

In case you haven't guessed yet this is an anthro story, and my first time writing a story in first person, so we'll see how this goes.

The prologue for this story starts sixteen years prior to the return of Nightmare Moon and the story's main events take place after Season 3 ends.

An old friend of Twilight's comes to Ponyville. His appearance has put into motion a set of events that may lead to the destruction of all of Equestria

I'm sitting on a grassy hill, overlooking Ponyville with the mare of my dreams as I look back on everything that brought me to this point.

Its just a dream I had, so I put it down for good and typed it up. It was inspired by the song 'Paradise' by Coldplay. This is just a glimpse at what it would be for me, but might be the most important.

If someone could come up with a cover art for this, that would be great. Couldn't find one.

Random Task is your not-so-average Ponyville resisdent who lives up to the full extent of his name. He is a pony of all trades doing odd jobs and deliveries for Pinkie Pie, who has secretly developed a crush on him. But little does anypony know of his alias Mix Tape, who is renowned as one of Equestria’s premiere music reviewers for a number of top tier music magazines, which always attracts the attention of music artists and their colleagues. And if there were anypony he has started to love writing music reviews about, he was biased towards a local DJ he’s never met. That is, until he discovers that this DJ is the mare of his dreams.

But when fate allows the two to meet, Task learns there’s more to this mare than he thought! She has a dark past, filled with flaws and triumphs in her own musical endeavors. And that past comes with six bitter ponies who have all shared a romantic history with her. Can Task overcome her six evil exes and win the mare's heart? Or will he be condemned to being just another stepping stone of his crush’s past?
