The Mane Six gather at the library for cocoa, treats and a hard choice.

They must choose something that will happen in the future, and will affect it greatly. Will they stay with traditions or choose some new way that could alter the face of Equestria.

Princess Celestia, tired of the constant pressure that ruling a nation puts on her, decides to take a day off and let Luna take her responsibilities for a day, something the younger alicorn is more than happy to do. She disguises herself as a pink maned pegasus pony named Sunny Skies and decides to go walking around Canterlot without any supervision. Unfortunately for her, not all parts of Canterlot are as safe as the palace, and she finds herself at the wrong end of a gang of muggers, who decide to kidnap her for a ransom when they see how much money she has on her.

Luna freaks out.

Centuries ago, Clover the Clever recorded in her personal diary the events surrounding the origins and early lives of Celestia and Luna. Now, thanks to the princesses' gracious consent and the scholarship of Twilight Sparkle, this account may now be read by modern Equestrians.

Twilight Sparkle starts to learn about gravity-manipulation spells after Princess Celestia sends her a book on the subject. Casting the spell is easy, but cancelling it, not so much, and Twilight soon finds herself without a hoof on the ground when she becomes the accidental target of her own magic.

On any other day, Twilight could deal with this. But with representatives from the prestigious Canterlot School of Magic due that evening to consider a possible annex in Ponyville, Twilight must find a way to be able to attend the event without revealing her foul-up.

There are a million and one celebrations in Equestria, but relatively few in the hard and utilitarian Griffin Kingdom. But every griffin, ex-pat, visitor or certain citizen celebrates King Paddy's Day. On that day anyone in the know, Griffin, Dog, Donkey, Pony, Changeling, Buffalo is a Griffin and proud of it.

Now, it falls to the Most Dependable of Ponies to bring the resulting ruckus down to earth, but can even Applejack's legendary pragmatism stand up to the brain-fizzing horror that is... There are so many popular depictions and interpretations of ponies. So amusing. So "cool" and "edgy" and "hipster friendly" and "crunk" and whever other words are used to describe twisting, turning and abusing ponies. Candy-colored ponies deserve better than to be abused, molested and killed.

Soil Tiller has had no luck in selling her produce anywhere else in Equestria, and is hoping for better fortune at Ponyville’s farmers' market, despite the odd looks she's gotten and strange stories she’s heard about the town. But they all can't be true, right?
