  • Favorites 28 stories - 7 unread chapters Formerly "Favourites," but I'm biased towards American English

  • Read It Later 267 stories Hoo boy, how long before I empty this? Also, on a personal note, I'm going to leave the crime fiction unread for now.

  • Tracking 10 stories - 79 unread chapters For incomplete stories only

  • Crime fiction 3 stories Mysteries, police procedurals, and so on

  • Random 21 stories Or, stories that are the literary equivalent of asdfmovie

  • Psychological 13 stories Stories that involve existential and, yes, psychological crises. Think Stephen King and Alan Wake

  • Daring Do 70 stories aka A. K. Yearling, Dazzle, Mare-ion Ravenhoof, Compass Rose, and best pony

  • Slice of life 28 stories The so-called "boring" genre

  • Adventure 62 stories A genre of broad categories.

  • Emotional 24 stories By which I mean sad or tragedy or anything feely

  • Medium-grade grimdark 14 stories No, Apple Bloom's not really dead. She's just knocked out cold…I hope….

  • Perpetually incomplete 3 stories For stories that may never be completed, but have a place in my heart (gosh, that was so cheesy)

  • Comedy 24 stories For more formulaic and less random stories, as opposed to the...um..."Random" bookshelf

  • Thriller 10 stories Thriller, thriller, faster than lightning… Wait no, that’s Flipper.

  • Romance 15 stories I normally don't read or enjoy romance, so it's quite an achievement for an author if his/her shipping fanfic gets my approval.

  • Horror 5 stories The black color setting makes the icons very hard to see in the library view….

  • Sci-Fi 1 stories Isn't it paradoxical how science fiction is always scrutinized to standards of science fact?

  • Drama 12 stories For extra effect, say the name of this bookshelf in your hammiest voice.

In the chaos of the Battle of the Bell, Spitfire is knocked from the sky.

She finds herself saved not by her fellow Wonderbolts, not by the Elements of Harmony - but by someone from her past.

Chapters (1)

The pony has lost his memories. Left to himself, he wanders the streets of Canterlot. Despite his misfortune, he finds his ‘one and only’.

Why worry about amnesia when there is a wedding to go to? It’s not like the forgotten past can haunt.

[You may also enjoy the Youtube reading and mp3 download that are available for this story.]

Here's what the readers are saying about it:

I saw it as an allegory about how a desire to seek love clashes with itself. Those who seek love never stop doing so, and they hurt themselves and the people they love by doing it in the first place. It tells me that staying away from romance is the safe bet, and I approve. ~ Snakeskin Ducttape

Daring Winifred Do, the youngest daughter of one of the wealthiest families in Equestria, is dispatched with her elder sister to oversee an archaeological expedition deep on the farthest edge of Southern Equestria.

Deep in the Red Desert, archaeologists have unearthed a strange and ominous pyramid. A pyramid that the locals desperately fear--even as they refuse to acknowledge its existence.

Its purpose was forgotten millennia prior. It was abandoned and forgotten, lost to the sands.

And Daring Do quickly realizes that perhaps it was better off left that way.

A nurse has seen it all. A combat medic has seen even more.

Princess Celestia sends her elite Household Battalion—"Celestia's Own"—south, far beyond the borders of Equestria, to break the slave trade and to free the oppressed. Medic Redheart, a young rookie among the Guard's hardened veterans, is with her Battalion every step of the way.

She's never told anypony her story. Until now.

A side story/prequel to my The Ponies in the Caves and A Story to Relate To, but reads independently.

This story is fantastic. There wasn't a single chapter that didn't give me chills or bring a tear to my eye. The way you describe the selflessness of the soldiers, and Redheart's unrelenting drive to save them, no matter the personal cost, was exemplary. I look forward to more of your work.

Has a Black Company feel to it with the medic POV. Great story so far!

This story is a sequel to Trouble in Tiatarta

Reading Trouble in Tiatarta is not necessary to enjoy this story, but you should probably read Queen Chrysalis Reforms (Accidentally)

Rainbow Dash is certain she's about to have the best week ever! She's gotten a letter from her idol Daring Do, inviting her to an expedition to the ancient Centaurian ruin of Midnight Castle to retrieve a lost Equestrian artifact! A daring adventure with Daring Do? What could go wrong?

Well, for one thing, Doctor Caballeron could show up, chasing after the same artifact. For another, Lord Tirek and Cozy Glow could show up too, with their own nefarious plans. Wait, but they're supposed to be in Tartarus!

Maybe this isn't going to be such a great week after all...

Chapters (12)

Spike and Dr. Cabelleron head into the Badlands searching for a legend.

The original version of this story placed sixth in the March 2020 WriteOff contest with the nonsense syllable "Ot" as the prompt, and this rewritten version was my entry in the Original Pairings group's 2020 May Pairing Contest.
