Spear and Shield, two stallions who serve Princess Celestia as part of her Royal Guard, are out and about in Canterlot on yet another boring day. Tasked to keep watch over things near the entrance to the capital city of Equestria, they try to numb the boredom that is quickly setting into their routine.

Fortunately, a stallion who wishes to enter the city just so happens to have a rather interesting characteristic about him that might just liven up things for a few minutes.

Applejack has always viewed herself as a simple farmer, nopony to make a fuss over. However, two of the most famous and wealthiest stallions think otherwise, and are willing to spend every bit they have on her. Who will win Applejack's affection before their bank accounts hit zero?

The town prepares for natural disaster as Twilight investigates, but the situation goes from bad to worse when she discovers what's been causing the earthquakes. Can she prevent calamity, or will Equestria need another hero?

Big Mac doesn’t say much. That’s just his way. However, when a routine medical exam reveals he’s going to lose his voice, he decides he’d better get his last round of speaking in while he still can. Saying a few last words to his friends (and asking out a certain schoolteacher) is all he planned on doing. If only he understood the full repercussions of opening his big mouth.
