A mother will do a lot for her child, even give them up if it meant them having a safer life growing up, despite the obvious pain that comes for the parent.

That pain is something Queen Chrysalis has gone through for eighteen years, but now the time is upon them, and she wants her daughter back. Even if that means invading Canterlot during a royal wedding.

Queen Chrysalis, aka "Public Enemy Number One", is a dying mare. It has often been said that "In the most dire circumstances, the best solution will be discovered., and in her current situation she has come up with a plan that will not only alter Equestria's and the changeling race's paths, but the destiny for the Elements of Harmony.

This is set in an alternative timeline after the defeat of Tirek but before Thorax came into the picture and where the failed plan at the wedding cost Chrysalis more than anypony realized.

Months after Chrysalis's attack on Canterlot, Twilight and her friends are turned into changelings. And not just any changelings. Royal changelings. Royal changelings who've now inherited what's left of Chrysalis's swarm.

When Twilight Sparkle makes a shocking discovery during a visit to Fluttershy, she may have to seriously reconsider her opinion of her friend.

Applejack is frustrated. After Canterlot, she can't hardly get into the city anymore. With all of the added security, she isn't sure how much longer she can keep her secret. As if that wasn't bad enough, she needs to see Princess Celestia about saving her failing crops. Suddenly frustrated doesn't seem accurate anymore...

Pinkie Pie turns another page of notes, alone in the basement of Twilight's library. She hears a crash upstairs and then a sound like a flame being ignited. She hears him hesitate at the bottom of the stairs, then speak. "Chrysalis is going to be angry you're influencing the process."

Queen Chrysalis was defeated and her rule was taken from her. With no food and no allies, she is doomed to the dreary fate she had always feared. When faced with potential tragedy, Twilight has to make one of the scariest decisions of her life. Does she help the dying changeling or leave her to her "just" end?
