The Royal Guard has intensified their training regimen after countless attacks on Canterlot. They’re tougher, better, faster, stronger – and, after months of hard training, they only accept the best of the best. The Night Guard, the elite soldiers trained to protect Princess Luna during the evening, are similar to the Royal Guard, only ten times tougher.

Undeterred by the challenges that await him, Pipsqueak (now a full grown stallion) signs up to join the most elite soldiers in all of Equestria... The Night Guard.

He isn’t doing it for the fame or glory. Pip is motivated by one goal and one goal only: to fulfill a promise he made as a foal. He will become the guardian of the night.

This story is technically a sequel to The Dream Stalker, but it is not necessary to read that story first in order to understand this one.

This was my entry to the EFNW 2018 Iron Author writing competition. As always with my short stories it is stand alone, however to know who the characters really are, you would be best served reading the main Ponyville Fire Department story.

It is Crash's big day, two years of training under Chief Sunstreak. This was his true desire, not just being a firefighter but to make the grade as Inspector. Could he pass the test, could he show he had what it took?

If I am to tell you my story, I think it is important for you to know that I was not always the Teacher, or Doctor that I am today. In fact, helping ponies with their everyday problems in this office has been a fairly recent change in my life. Before then, I had traveled the world with a Dragon. And before that, I had spent all of my time reading books without knowing what I was looking for. And before then...well, even I don’t know all of the details...

Flurry Heart returns home after a visit with her Aunt Twilight. She's noticed an interesting difference between her mother and her aunts, and sits down to have a talk about why exactly Cadance is the odd mare out.

The mares and stallions of Manehattan Tanker 45 in Firehouse 9 are amongst the ranks of Manehattan's Bravest, the firefighters who willingly rush into danger to save the lives of others. Hydrant, Bull Run, Smokey Bear and others perform a dangerous job and perform it well.

But when Skybridge Tower is accidentally struck by an airship, they are amongst the first to arrive at the massive fire. And their bravery may cost them all dearly.

Fillydelphia's fire department are getting some new faces, and they are not ponies. These firefighters are the first fire-griffons to be put into service. These are firefighting adventures of griffons Gilda, Greta, Giselle, Genevieve, Gretchen, Captain Gordon, and the hippogriff Wilhelmina.

Ever wondered how the Fire Deparment and EMS works in Equestria? You can find out. Follow new trainees through the Emergency Training Facility as they get trained to be in the Fire Fighting Forces (or 3F) and Emergency Medical Ponies (EMP) and also active members on their daily duty, saving lives and risking their own.

I'm tagging it as Sad and Tragedy for now. I don't know yet how far I'll go with these themes. Also I'm torn between Slice of Life and Adventure since it's a slice of the protagonists' lifes, but the guideline for tags says Adventure.
This story is full of OCs, only once in a while there'll be a canon character (That's why it only has the "OC" character tag).

Author's note: I'm planning to replay the scenarios of the series itself, but from a different side of view. There'll also be incidents that have nothing to do with the show.

Night Crystal had always kept to herself and never bothered to make friends. No one knows her real name, because no one has bothered to ask. So she decides one day she wants to become an Alicorn and try to fit in to society and make friends. She discovers the Mane 6 and the CMC. But when she realizes Alicorns are rare beings, what happens when she comes up with a fib to tell every pony that seems believable.

Long and hard work lay before the five. However they would do this, for Ponyville, for Luna, and for the memory of Archer.

Meanwhile Ponyville continues to grow, and with that. The chief of PVFD Station 1, Rescue Sunstreak, grows with it. He has to plan the future, no longer is ponyville a tiny little village, it is a true town now and its needs for first responders have grown with it.

With his husband at his side, and friends all around them. They will guide the new generation of firepony, to help them carry on the tradition of charging in when others run away.
