Rainbow Dash was an only child. A long time ago on one Hearts Warming Eve, her mother had miscarried the one who would have been Rainbow’s baby sister. However, on that night, the young Rainbow Dash knelt down in front of her Hearts Warming Eve tree and offered an earnest prayer:

"Please make my mother well again, and please give me a little sister.”
Years have passed since the lonely Hearts Warming Eve, and Rainbow Dash has nearly forgotten her prayer. Oh just you wait Rainbow, for Santa Hooves hasn't forgotten. It was Hearts Warming Eve once again, and Rainbow was excited for the presents, the parties, and being with her friends. Rainbow Dash headed home after Pinkie’s party only to be greeted with the best unexpected gift of her life… Her sister.

(Authors note: I'm sorry about the last part. I'm just reading, and watching some other things at the same time. Also, I got completely off track from the matter at hand. Again, I’m sorry you guys. Please forgive me).

2nd POV. You are depressed, your life seems to be one tragedy after another as you are transferred from orphanages and foster homes. You've almost given up hope until you die. You've been given a second chance at happieness and now you must come to terms with your past and your present.

In the world of Gemcraft we have our main character, Zekeal Grendale. He is one of many wizards who specializes in creating gems from magic to help fight off hordes of monsters. Although after completing wizard school he is trying not to look for trouble but is just trying to find a place in this cold world to call home. He managed to find a quiet place to stay and call his home for a while until after a series of bad events and decisions he gets sent to the My Little Pony universe. But will it be all peaceful when Zekeal enters this universe or will something dark enter along with him?

A teenage human boy with a troubled past manages to get into Equestria, but finds out that it's not like the show. Waking up with fur and paws, he has to face many different challenges head on. Even when things are calm, there is always a storm rising somewhere to strike at you.

Note: This story was written in the week following the airing of "May The Best Pet Win", and well before "Read It and Weep" was even known about. As such it haws since been overtaken by canon, but most folk tend to like it still so I will upload it here so I have a bit of a presence on FIMfiction beyond "lurker #347,921".

This story also includes "The Unrelated Epilogue" which is a mini-story based on a loose bit in the main one that I felt did not stand on its own, but that I wanted up nonetheless. It has Luna, but not RD or TS.
