Chapter one
"One virus, three weeks, millions dead...and I was there. My name is Alex Mercer, and my work is almost done."
Three days after defeating the Supreme Hunter on the USS Reagan
It was around 6:00 pm, Alex Mercer was on top of Empire State building watching over the city thinking '' The infected are finally dying out '' he had managed to retain his memory even after dying to save the city , he looked around for a place to land he then jumped and spread his arms to glide through the air slowly descending on a nearby block while making sure not to be seen .
Upon landing he walked to the edge and rappelled down the wall into an alley. After making sure no one was around he shifted into a civilian, whilst walking out of the alley a thought lingered in his head '' The military had begun moving out of the city, only a few bases still being operational the ones I consumed didn't have information as to why they are leaving '' Alex was still hunted so it made no sense as to why they were moving out, '' maybe they got tired of dying '' a grim smile appeared on his face while he thought of that.
Even though he felt something was up, he was confident he could survive anything they'd throw at him . Reaching the street Alex whistled for a nearby cab and quickly got in, he didn't want to attract any unnecessary attention by jumping from roof to roof. ''St. Paul's Hospital'' He said. The driver simply nodded and with that they were off. As they were driving trough the seemingly endless rows of cars Alex's mind drifted to the events earlier that morning.
At 5:00 pm he received a call from Dr. Bradley Ragland saying that he's sister Dana has awoken from her coma, and that he also received information that might be of interest to him .
A shout broke he's train of thought
'' Hey buddy wake up!''
''What?!''
''Were here.'' ''How much do I owe you?''
'' That would be $178 ''Alex pulled out a wallet he 'found' yesterday and pulled two 100 dollar bills , after getting out of the car he gave the driver the money.
''Keep the change.'' He said.
The driver smiled ''Thanks man have a nice day.'' with that the driver left and Alex said to himself ''I'm sure it will be.''
He entered the building heading straight for the morgue where Ragland said he will be waiting with his sister, as he approached the double-metal doors he shifted back to his original form and entered the room.
Upon entering Alex noticed Ragland pacing furiously with a face that bleed concern, on the other side of the room was his sister standing upright on a hospital bed with one hand over her eyes hinting that she had a head ache .
Alex broke the silence ''Hey doc.'' Ragland's thought was interrupted as he noticed Alex slowly approaching. ''How is she?''
Before he could say anything Dana spoke. ''I'm fine Alex just a slight head ache.''
''Good to know your Ok...'' the doctor was losing his patience.
''Alex.'' Ragland almost shouted attention shifting back to him while a visible throbbing vein was pumping on his forehead.
'' You look disturbed doc what's happening?'' Said Alex almost jokingly, the doctor motioned for Alex approach
'' You need to hear this.'' the doctor walked to a nearby computer and opened an audio file called The last resort. The record started playing:
''Doctor Ragland I have important information and limited time so listen carefully and erase this as soon as you can, I'm sure you've noticed the military starting to leave the city, the reason for that is that a group of Black-Watch scientists are working on a new weapon with cold fusion at its base, its highly unstable and completely experimental , it is to be used on the runner Zeus and if that weapon malfunctions it could wipe out the entire city, I am telling you this because I owed you one for that time in Nam , leave the city as soon as you can , you have three days until that thing becomes operational.''
Alex stood there letting the information sink in when Ragland broke the silence. ''This message is two days old, someone went to great lengths to send this and someone else to even greater lengths to try and stop it from reaching me. Whatever this weapon is, this ‘Last Resort’ it needs to be stopped and you have less than 24 h to find and destroy it. ''
Alex pondered a bit but before he could say anything the doctor said.'' Also along with the message came a map of the city with the northern edge of the city circled, I called a few favors and it seems that massive energy surges have been erupting in that area , whatever this thing is it uses a lot of power''.
''It might be a trap.'' Alex said. Dana got out of bed and stumbled trying to get to her brother when she said
''What if it isn't?''
Alex smirked.''I never said I won't take the job.''
Dana hugged Alex. ''Be careful.''
Alex face became serious.'' Ragland I want you to take my sister and get out of town, here *he took out his cell and gave it to the doc * I will contact you once I'm finished.''
''B-But Alex...''
Alex turned to his sister. ''No buts its too dangerous and I can't risk that, Ragland do you have a place where you can stay?''
''Yes. My cousin Thomas has a farm in Westchester we'll wait there.''
''Good get everything you need and leave, I won't let the city die now.'' With that Alex proceeded out of the building.
The sun was beginning to set, Alex took a deep breath and started sprinting straight to the marked area , ignoring gravity and running up a building , reaching its roof in seconds , he continued towards his destination free running effortlessly from one roof to another, gliding when needed to reach a new building.

An hour later on a highway
Dana was riding in the front seat of the doctor's Toyota Landcruiser deep in thought when Ragland noticed the worried look on her face, he decided to break the silence. ''You know he can't die right?'' He spoke softly. Dana smiled a little.
''He's the only family I have left, even though he's a wanted man he is still my brother.''
''I'm surprised he's actually trying to save this God forsaken city after all he went through.''
''Alex may have been blinded by revenge but now …I dunno I guess his trying to redeem himself.''
''I'm sure he will be fine I'm more worried about those dumb enough to get in his way''
Dana chuckled. ''You're right'' she smiled and went back to her thoughts.

Alex landed in an area with a few blocks and some trees, he went into an alley and shifted into a Black-Watch commander , he then used his thermal vision to look for anything out of the ordinary. After 20 minutes of scoping the area he began to notice something. ''Nothing... everything looks normal, too normal.'' He muttered to himself. ''Unless...'' He looked towards a green area with trees and looked at the ground ''Bingo.'' under the trees he noticed a concentration of heat signatures. ''Now for the hard part.'' he contemplated for a few minutes how to enter the concealed facility when an unknown armored vehicle came from around the corner and parked nearby 'Interesting.' He thought as he noticed four Black-Watch goons exit the vehicle.
''What are you up to?'' he spied from the cover of darkness when a Black-Watch commander exited the driver seat and started giving orders. Alex listened in on the conversation.
''Aright you goons this is the last piece needed, I want you to take it in and for God's sake DON'T drop it!'' They all nodded and said in unison ''Sir yes Sir!'' they proceeded to the trunk and pulled out a grayish metal case that looked reinforced and that took all four men to get it out.
''I need a distraction.'' thought Alex when something toppled a few trash cans ''Perfect.'' he thought.
The Black-Watch commander seemed to notice and went to Investigate he motioned to rest to keep moving and bring the case inside the base. As he entered the alley he turned on his flash-light and searched around a bit, a hiss startled him as he swiftly turned to notice an unamused cat going about her business in the trash can. ''All clear, proceed with the operation.'' Before he could turn around he was grabbed by the neck and the last thing he could feel before dying was a sharp pain in his back ''Let's see what you know.'' Alex then hit consuming the commander and gaining his knowledge.
''So, they are desperate enough to use that even if it might kill them all, well it won't be in one piece for long'' Alex grinning under the mask, he walked out of the alley and towards the soldiers that were standing on a patch of grass.
Alex was standing on the seemingly ordinary patch of grass. '
''Were in the clear and proceeding to base how copy.''
''Solid copy X5, were pulling you in. Were there any disturbances?''
''None''
''Very well proceed to the Last resort chamber with the missing piece and await new orders.''
''Copy.''
The ground seemed to lower itself as Alex and the rest of the soldiers went trough a dark tunnel, after about five minutes the elevator came to a stop and the wall began moving revealing a secret entrance.
Alex and the soldiers began walking through the halls where numerous scientists were franticly working on the latest technology. After a few minutes worth of walking they finally reached their destination, a giant chamber with a reinforced titanium gate. It was large enough to fit a 747, with grey-white metallic walls lined with numerous scientific tools and an anti-chamber on the far left side of the room also what looked like the tips of two generators sticking out from the ground not fully revealing themselves.
Three scientists in hazmat suits approached and motioned for the soldiers to follow them.
''How long before its fully operational ?'' Alex asked.
''Two hours, it is currently at 95% capacity'' The scientist responded. He then stopped near a computer console and began typing, after he was done the ground began to shake as two massive generators began emerging from the ground with a large barrel like pipe in between, circuitry from both powering the machine as some of its parts began glowing a shade of neon green .
As the soldiers were making their way to the machine with the case Alex was slowly making his way to its console were a scientist was typing . The soldiers gently placed the case on the ground disengaging the lock to reveal a light blue cartridge with particles swirling around ''Excellent'' was the only thing the scientist said before taking the small tank and placing it in a compartment before locking it in place.
Alex was almost to the terminal when the alarms went off. ''That can't be good.'' he sprinted to the terminal giving the scientist a flying kick sending him through the air and into the wall, turning back to his original form Alex began typing trying to shut down the machine when the soldiers ran up to him, now armed with LMG's they began firing.
''Stop you idiots !You might hit th...'' the scientist was interrupted by a large boom coming from the terminal which sent Alex into a back flip.
Annoyed he took out his claws and sped to the soldiers clawing, the first few were decapitated and then kicking another soldier in the ribs sending him into the wall. The scientists were fleeing and Alex began tearing down the remaining soldiers, cutting them in half and consuming the last . Lights began to flicker as Alex turned. He noticed the cannon beginning to overcharge but before he could do anything he felt a punch connecting with his face sending him to the ground .
He got up and spat on the ground. ''Just what I need, super freaks.'' Alarms were sounding even louder when the machine was hitting critical levels.
''Tonight you DIE Zeus.''
''Bring it.''
Alex turned his claws into muscle mass as the soldier charged and tried to grab him, he reacted quickly and countered with a knee to the ribs forcing the soldier to stumble backwards. When he got his bearings he started attacking, now enraged he didn't even bother blocking as each missed punch was followed by a swift move from Alex, breaking bones as hits continued to rain upon the soldier’s body. '' Time to end this.'' He changed his left arm into a hammerfist and his right arm into a blade. As he dodged a weak punch he stabbed the soldier in his stomach while using the momentum to smash his face with his left arm sending him into nearby crates.
''With that out of the way back to the main prob...''
*BOOM!*
A large explosion send him into a wall denting it. When he came to he noticed the walls starting to bend and more importantly he noticed himself being drawn to where the debris of what was once The Last Resort, now with a black vortex forming in mid air, objects were being sucked in and disintegrated .
''CRAP!'' He shifted his arms back into claws and stabbed both of them in the metal floor and held on for dear life, as his body was now in the air the only thing preventing him to be sucked in was the reinforced metal floor .
As the expanding vortex grew in power Alex was advancing one claw at a time away from the black hole, meanwhile a half dead super-soldier noticed Zeus's situation and reached his arm searching through a broken military chest and found what he was looking for, a M72 LAW Rocket Launcher.
Alex was looking back at the vortex when he noticed the soldier trying to lock on to him , after he aimed the weapon he muttered half-conscious. ''Burn ...in...Hell*cough*Mercer.'' he pulled the trigger the recoil ending the soldier's life.
Alex's eyes widened as everything seemed to slow down as the missile approached. ''I'm sorry Dana...'' The projectile connected with his head the force pulling his claws out of the ground and sending him flying towards the black hole.
As he connected with the vortex he felt like he's entire body was being crushed and just like that he disappeared into the blackness.
*30 minutes after the appearance of the vortex*
“Sir the vortex has lost power and is disappearing!”
“Damage report.”
“The base is gone along with 2.5 miles of land.”
“And Zeus ?”
“The status of the runner has been confirmed sir.”

It was a beautiful day in Equestria, Celestia's Sun was bringing warmth to all beings basking in its glow, it was a perfect day to go out and do things. The town of Ponyville was relatively quiet, ponies were trotting about minding their own business oblivious to what was going to happen in a few hours. Everypony was relaxed that is until a certain pony , a pink pony to be precise felt her tail twitch madly ''Twitchy twitch, twitchy twitch…'' it was shaking so badly she felt like she was about to take off. ''OH super duper Twitchy twitch *gasp* I better tell Twi and the others.'' With that she trotted out of Sugarcube Corner while trying not to lose her balance.
Meanwhile at the library.
A purple pony with dark purple mane and tail both which had a streaks of pink, and a six sided star as a cutie mark also known as Twilight Sparkle, was reading a new book she acquired unaware of what was about to happen. She continued reading in her bed not knowing that a certain pink pony was about to disturb her peace. A small, light-purple dragon was soundly sleeping in his bed only to end up on the floor face down wondering what the hay happened .
The disturbance was of course caused by a pink blob opening the door slamming it full force making several books to fall from their respective bookshelves, the pink pony bounced happily up the stairs with a huge smile on her face.
Twilight was shaken by the sudden noise which caused her to drop the book, with an annoyed look on her face she walked to the door of her bedroom. As soon as she reached the door it quickly slammed open sending Twilight flying backwards and onto the hard wooden floor.
A giggling was heard as the pink pony entered the room and asked. ''Hey Twilight. Why are you sleeping on the floor? Oh is it more comfortable than your bed? Or, oh is there something on the ceiling, hmm nope, or are you playing a new game? Oh oh I'm good at games what are you supposed to do, what's it called, what are theruhmffmhmhmfmh...'' An unamused Twilight was dusting herself off while keeping her friends mouth closed with magic.
''Pinkie what in Celestia's name are you doing? Haven't you heard of knocking?''
''hmfmfhmfhmhfmhm''
''Oh right...” She released her Magic. “There, now Pinkie why are you in such a rush?''
''Well I was at Sugarcube Corner baking muffins, and after they were done I thought I'd take a little bite but they were so goodIcould'tstoopsoIhadtobakeanotherand...'' Twilight shoved her hoof in her mouth to silence her.
''The reason Pinkie, CALM down.'' She simply nodded.
''Weeeeeelllll my pinkie sense went off and my tail started twitching like it never twitched before see.'' she pointed at her tail which was twitching out of control looking like it wanted to take off right there.'' Anyway I noticed It never twitched so hard so I'd thought you'd want to tell everypony so that they can be ready, and that's why I came rushing to your house, up the stairs and into your bedroom where you were lying on the floor, so why were on the floor Twi?'' Pinkie Pie smiled.
Twilight face-hoofed before she remembered why Pinkie came in the first place. ''Wait...so something is gonna fall? How big?'' Pinkie thought for a moment.
''Big, very big, even bigger than the piano that fell on your head that one time!'' Twilight resisted the urge to face-hoof yet again.
''Pinkie go get Fluttershy I will find AppleJack and RainbowDash we'll meet at Rarity's to prepare.'' Pinkie nodded.
''Okie dokie loki.'' She went off with the smile on her face still there.
In the meantime Spike managed to get up just to crawl back into his basket. ''I don't even want to know, I'm going back to sleep.''
''Ok Spike just be ready if I have to send a letter to the Princess alright?''
''Fine, just try not to get too excited it might be nothing.'' The dragon fell back to his slumber. Twilight walked out of the library and headed to Sweet Apple Acres to find her friends.
*1000 feet above the Everfree Forest above a small clearing somewhere in middle of the woods , hidden between some clouds an all too familiar vortex was beginning to form.
Reaching Sweet Apple Acres and navigating through the trees Twilight could hear the familiar sound of trees being bucked. Closing in on the noise Twilight could see a familiar red stallion bucking the apple trees. Twilight approached the stallion.
''Hello Big Mac.''
''Howd'y miss Twilight.''
''Could you tell me where Applejack is I have something important to talk to her about.''
''Eeyup.'' He pointed towards the red barn. In the distance was a familiar orange cowpony pulling a cart of apple inside.
Twilight started galloping towards the barn. ''Thanks Big Mac.'' he nodded and went back to work. Twilight has been picking up speed and reached the Stetson wearing pony in no time ''Applejack!'' Twilight slightly panting.
''Howdy Twilight, how have ya been?'' Twilight took a deep breath and began talking.
''Not important, Pinkie's senses went off...''
*5 minutes worth of explanation later*
''Oh my...so something big comin’ up? Well I can tell you were RD is, she's asleep in one of the trees in the orchard.''
''Good *pant* lead the way.'' Applejack nodded and they were on their way , they started galloping and kept a steady pace.
A couple minutes of running later. They reached the tree where Rainbow Dash was snoozing, her rainbow colored tail hanging giving indication that it was the right tree.
''Rainbow Dash.'' No response. ''Rainbow Dash.'' No response. '' RAINBOW DASH!'' Twilight was getting frustrated.
*Ahem* ''Allow me.'' Applejack offered.
*WHAM!* Applejack bucked the tree sending Rainbow head first into the ground.
'' Hey what's the big idea AJ? I was sleeping.''
''Ah noticed.'' Applejack smirked.
''Ugh we don't have time for this.'' Twilight snapped.
''Rainbow I need your attention this is important!''
''What's up Twi?'' she said rubbing her head with her hoof , it still hurt from the fall.
*10 min worth of explaining later.*
''Don't worry I'm sure that whatever happens it won't be a problem for my amazing skills.'' The boastful pegasus spoke.The sound of a hoof connecting with a face was heard a moment later.
''This is serious Rainbow, now if your done fooling around lets go, were supposed to meet at Rarity's.''
''Hey I was serious!'' Rainbow said in prideful tone.
''Let's just leave before ah lose my temper.''
''I agree let's get going.''
*As they left above the Everfree forest somewhere near a mountain the sky began to look like it was imploding on itself.*
* 30 minutes earlier: what Pinkie did after Twilight and her parted ways*
A pink pony was bouncing her way to the edge of the forest where a small cottage could be seen in the distance. A bright yellow pegasus with a pink mane and tail was feeding the chickens slightly hovering in the air.
Pinkie was bouncing happily towards her unsuspecting friend not really thinking about the consequences that could appear due to [unintentionally] sneaking up on the shiest pony in all Equestria.
''There there it's enough for all of you.'' She spoke in a soft and sweet voice.
''FLUTTERSHY!'' yelled a pink pony in excitement. The only response was *eep* followed by fainting.
''Oh my Pinkie you shouldn't sneak up on ponies like that.'' While she was getting back up she noticed her friend’s twitchy tail and her eyes widened. *Eep* was all the pink pony heard before her friend started rounding up all the animals sending them to their respective shelters. Fluttershy was panting and was close to fainting [again] when Pinkie giggled and spoke.
''That looked like fun, but if you’re done Twilight said she wanted to meet her at the Carrousel Boutique.'' Pinkie then managed to get Fluttershy on her back and started trotting towards their destination.
At the Boutique Rarity was working on her latest design when the sound of hoofs were heard at the door. ''Coooming.'' She sang. Opening the door she saw her friends with worried looks on their faces except Pinkie pie who was wearing her usual smile, she asked in a serious tone. ''Oh my has something happened?''
*10 min worth of explaining later*
''And that's why we need to prepare for the worst!'' Said a slightly frightened Twilight.
''You sure that something bad will happen?'' Fluttershy asked.
''Don't worry Fluttershy, Auntie Pinkie will protect you!'' Said the pink pony.
''I'm a year older than you.'' Replied Fluttershy.
''And besides I got the skills and the moves to take on anything.'' Twilight was not amused.
''Ah think you should start taking this seriously RD we don't know what were up against...'' Joined Applejack.
''I'm not entirely convinced that something will even happen!''
''I agree with Rainbow for once darling I mean... Whats the worst that could happen?'' A giant crash that shook the ground cut her off.
''You just had to say that didn't you?'' Applejack said sarcastically. Rarity was blushing from the embarrassment and the odd looks from her friends.
Rainbow Dash went to the sky to pinpoint where the object has crashed.'' Looks like it fell in the Everfree Forest.'' The ponies were shocked.'' Looks like a ball of metal or something.''
''*gulp* W-we should investigate what happened.''
''Darling you can't be serious that place is unnatural and filthy!''
''And scary…'' a barely audible Fluttershy said.
''I agree but what if somepony is hurt? Ah reckon we should at least check it out.''
''Me too listen up everypony I'm going home to send a letter to the princess get whatever supplies you need and meet me at the edge of the forest in one hour.''
''We won't force you, but I don't know what we'll do without ya if we stumble across an injured animal.''
''Oh my...I can't let the poor animals down, alright I'll come!''
''Now that that's settled remember one hour!'' They nodded in unison and went off to prepare.
In the Everfree forest:
A giant combination of metal, concrete and various elements connected with the earth at deadly speeds imbedding itself in the ground knocking down several trees and sending metal parts and debris in random directions. The silence of the forest was disturbed and didn't go unnoticed. The dust began to settle and upon closer inspection some parts were stained red indicating the painful demise of whatever had passed through the vortex. The smell of blood was filling the air and in one spot, on a piece of flooring a glittering pile of liquid was coming together.
Meanwhile at the library
Twilight Sparkle entered her home and noticed the books which were scattered on the floor from Pinkie's previous visit.
She resisted the urge to clean up and trotted up the stairs where her assistant was soundly sleeping, apparently the small earthquake from earlier didn't disturb him in the slightest. Still she needed his help and proceeded to waking him up. ''Spiiike, wake up.'' She said soothingly. The dragon didn't budge, knowing she was short on time she spoke. ''Spike Rarity's here.'' The dragon bolted out of bed and looked around for his heart’s desire. ''Sorry about that Spike but I need you awake, this is very important!''
''Oh...'' The disappointed dragon spoke. ''What do you need?'' Twilight took a deep breath and explained what happened earlier that day. While Spike was writing the letter to the princess he spoke. '' Are you sure about this Twi? The Everfree forest is rather dangerous!''
''I agree Spike but somepony needs to make sure that nopony got hurt, and besides were the only ones who have any experience with the forest.''
''I still don't like it''
''Neither do I but it must be done.'' Spike set the letter ablaze and then helped Twilight get ready.
*All six ponies were preparing for the journey and after a while they left their respective homes and went to the meetings location.*
Deep within the Everfree forest the smell of blood from the crash site began spreading and reached the nose of a manticore patrolling its territory, enticed by the sweet scent the beast began searching for the source.
Reaching the crash site the beast flew upwards using its strong sense of smell to zoom in towards its prey, it landed on a small platform-like patch of metal. On the far end of it, it noticed a puddle of red liquid that seemed almost alive.
Upon reaching the strange liquid the manticore took a bite, it tasted like liquid flesh but only for a moment before the biomass began burning its throat and latching on to its front legs . The beast roared in pain as the liquid began forcing its way inside the manticore's body. The beast roared again as the pain intensified with each passing second as its body began changing from the inside. Its hair and mane beginning to fall, its bones rearranging themselves, as its tail detached itself from the body falling on the metal floor. The creatures mind was fading. As it died the virus engulfed its entire body morphing it into a new shape.
As the transformation completed in the place where a manticore once stood. A tall hooded figure with a grim smile on its face rose. ''I’m back''.

Inside the Canterlot Palace princess Celestia and her sister Luna were attending a meeting about problems with the economic system. Luna was holding back a yawn and Celestia was doing her best trying to stay awake. A light brown unicorn with gold mane and tail and a jeweled crown for a cutie mark ,was speaking in a monotone voice that bored the princesses even more. Before they could fall asleep a letter materialized in front of princess Celestia who motioned for the unicorn to take his leave , he bowed and walked out the room. Luna gave a big healthy yawn before stretching her wings. She then turned to her sister and said :
''Tia that was the most boring meeting I have ever attended , being banished on the Moon was more interesting than that!''
Her sister chuckled as she unfolded the letter and began reading it , a look of concern appeared once she finished .
''Has something happened dear sister?''
''It seems a large object fell from the sky in the Everfree forest causing a disturbance, Twilight and the other elements went to investigate .''
''So when do we leave big sis ?''an excited princess of the night spoke.''And I know what your going to say , but I simply cannot stand another meeting and this seems like a perfect opportunity to take the day off .''
Celestia dreaded the thought of another boring meeting and nodded approvingly.
''Perfect we should get captain Silver Mane and Golden Beam to accompany us. We can wait for the elements to return at the entrance and after were done we can finally head to a spa!''
''Oh Luna.''

Six ponies were gathered at the edge of the forest , they felt a number of emotions : fear , anxiety , doubt all mixed with excitement , needless to say they were reluctant to enter the unnatural forest . As they stared at the cluster of trees Twilight decided to break the silence ''Is *gulp* everypony ready?'' the group nervously nodded .
The forest was dense ,light barely entering trough the thick leaves. The path was narrow and strange sounds could be heard from withing the forest . The journey was uneventful and aside from the usual complain about dirt it was peaceful .
''Ugh Twilight I can't take this anymore , we've been walking for over an hour and my hooves are killing me , if we don't reach that place soon I'm taking to the sky !''
''Calm down sugarcube were all pretty worn out but ah reckon we'll be there soon.''
''Twilight darling even though I don't agree with RainbowDash's outburst she does have a point , how much longer do we have to go?''
''About ten minutes or so ,we should be seeing a change in scenery pretty soon!''

A tall dark figure was standing on the highest pile of metal and debris looking around taking in its surroundings , the scent of blood and death didn't bother him it was all to familiar , he looked at the scene around him : twisted metal , crushed bodies and blood spills on the walls and floor '' Good thing I'm indestructible.'' He grinned. Alex stretched a bit getting a feel of he's new body, it was different from his other regeneration's : lighter , stronger . He looked up at the sky noticing the black vortex as it began to fade ''So it wasn't a black hole , those morons probably think I'm dead !'' He smiled evilly ''Good that means my work is done , now to find a way out of this forest and back to Dana.''
As he turned around he noticed a weird tail on the metal floor , he picked it up examining it ''What in the world ...'' It was a giant scorpion tail ''This can't be right.'' Alex's eyes began to glow a faint yellow as he eyed the tail once more ''No hint of genetic manipulation , its natural .''He tossed it aside having more important things on his mind , carefully he began looking for signs of civilization . Something in the distance caught his attention , he walked to the edge of the floor to get a closer look ''Looks like a village , about 5 miles north shouldn't take more than a few minutes. Hmm I wonder what happened to the town while I was gone.''
*The giant crash from earlier that day killed various animals , flying debris and metal parts also claiming lives . Animals began giving the place a wide berth . The miasma of death filling the air however had different effects on some carnivores , sending some into a blind rage and some towards the source.*
Six tired ponies were approaching the crash site not really noticing their surroundings.Sun was being reflected from some metal parts getting the ponies attention signaling that they were approaching their goal.The smell in the air only being noticed by a purple dragon.
''You guys smell that ? Its getting stronger and I don't recognize it !''
He was ignored and they entered the clearing ,the scene around them sending shivers down their spine. Some of the the trees were uprooted and in the middle of the clearing , embedded in the ground stood a weird combination of twisted metal and broken walls . The highest part of it reaching almost 50 feet . The ponies mouth hung agape at the scene before them as they eyed the weird structure .They began examining the debris circling the site. They looked around searching for anything out of the ordinary.A good amount of time later something caught the attention of the purple pony leading the group. Plastered on a metal wall was a strange emblem.
As they examined the emblem a familiar figure leaped from it's vantage point not bothering looking down.
*CRASH!!!*
Something hit the ground at high speeds just 10 feet away from the ponies , creating a crater and gaining the attention of six terrified mares and a dragon.As the dust began to settle the ponies noticed a dark figure slowly rising .
Alex looked around noticing six brightly colored horses and a lizard ''What the fu...'' he was interrupted as one of the ponies yelled:
''MONSTER !''A pink pony screamed.
''Quick RUN !''A purple unicorn spoke.The group complied and started running back towards the path.
''Ok...''He muttered as he saw the group running like crazy. ''So I get sucked trough a worm-hole into a world with pastel colored horses that can talk ...*sigh*Seems legit .'' He thought to himself wondering if he was finally going insane.However his train of thought was interrupted by large thumps coming from the direction the horses were headed meaning something big was coming his way.Unfazed about what was coming Alex began examining the weird creatures , he noticed that two of them had wings , two others had horns and one of them was wearing a cowboy hat. 'Its like something from a Disney fairy-tale.'
He thought, looking back at the group that was heading straight for whatever was coming. The group's advance was halted by a four-headed monster with blood-lust in its eyes. 'Ok,so its a grim fairy-tale.'He thought once more looking back at the horses noticing them being pushed into a dead end. Alex watched the scene in front of him as the four-headed freak closed in on it's prey,he snapped back from his thoughts when he heard:
''Twilight get us out of here !'' A cyan pegasus yelled.
''I CAN'T I don't have enough power !''Twilight yelled back.
RainbowDash stood by her friends looking at the approaching beast.The groups eyes widened filled with tears as the baby dragon fainted on Twilight's back.
''*sigh* What a drag but I guess I need some warm-up ,might as well make a good impression while I'm at it !'' He smiled to himself as he sprinted towards the beast .Nearing his target he jumped in the air reaching the beasts height with ease.
''Been an honor knowing you guys .'' Applejack said sobbing . The group pulled into hug as they watched the beast approaching . Just before they closed their eyes they heard a voice yell .
''HEY UGLY !''
The beast turned it's heads around , only to be greeted by Alex who did a spin kick in mid-air connecting to one of the Hydras heads. The kick easily broke the cranium ,the force of the hit sending it into another head.The beast stumbled sideways away from the ponies trying to regain it's balance . The group was shocked seeing the giant beast so easily defeated. Alex landed in front of the ponies he's gaze still locked onto the four-headed monster.He turned his head at the ponies saying :
''Hey you , do me a favour and go hide somewhere so I can take care of this minor nuisance !''
''Y-you can talk ?'' the purple pony said.
''Yeah now get moving ,you will only get in my way !''Alex demanded.
''R-right l-let's get moving .''She hesitantly obeyed motioning the group to follow her as they walked behind some metal wall.
The beast regained its balance with one of its heads down and another heavily bleeding .It became enraged letting out a powerful roar as it charged Alex as fast as it could . All three heads lunged at him , Alex jumped at the last second and ran up the beast's neck . Reaching the base of the neck Alex punched trough the skin straight to the bone and snapped its spine .
Another head fell to the ground , the remaining heads quickly spun and tried to bite Alex , he backflipped with ease out of harms way leaving the beast to bite its own back.It shrieked in agony Alex just smiled and said ''That all you got?'' All the ponies except for Fluttershy were watching the fight from safety as they saw another head fall to the ground.They began talking amongst themselves .
''That is so awesome did you see the way it moves ?!''An excited pegasus said .
''That thing is stronger than anything I've ever seen I mean its taking down that Hydra like its nothing!''The cowpony added.
''Um I think its a 'He' Applejack...''Fluttershy corrected still cowering behind the metal wall.
''I'm just glad he's on our side or we'd be done for!''Twilight continued.
''Yes I'm very impressed , and those clothes I've never seen anything like them!''Raity joined.
''I wonder if he likes parties?''Pinkie asked getting weird looks from the rest of the group.
''What ?I think it would be a nice gesture after this is done.''The group shrugged and went back to watching the fight.
Alex avoided the enraged animal's attacks with ease, its moves getting sloppier with each swing.The Hydra lunged one of its heads forward in an attempt to catch its target , Alex simply side-stepped and punched the back of the beast's skull penetrating the bone and killing the head. The fight had dragged on long enough''Time to end this.'' He said as he jumped backwards a few times and stood still.
''What is he doing ,he's just standing there?!'' Twilight asked.
''Ah don't know but I think he wants to finish the fight!''Applejack responded.
The Hydra's last head opened its mouth and proceeded to bite its prey.Alex grinned and stayed motionless, the head bit down as hard as it could but the mouth simply stayed open , a stronger force continuing to spread the jaws farther apart.
Alex used his powerful arms to keep the beast's jaws open and placed a foot in its mouth straining the jaw muscles even more. It struggled as hard as it could but it couldn't break free from the runners grasp.An evil smile appeared on Alex's face.
Applejack's eyes widened as she realized what he was doing and yelled ''Everypony look away NOW!''As she pulled all of her friends from the scene that was about to happen.
''Applejack what's the big deal I want to see him finish that thing!''An annoyed pegasus voiced her mind.
''Yeah Applejack whats wrong?''Twilight asked a bit annoyed herself.
''You don't want to see this trust me !''Applejack answered.
''What do you me...''Rarity was interrupted by the sound of a sickening crack followed by an audible thump.
The last of the heads fell to the forest floor but not before having a fang removed by Alex as a trophy and placed inside his jacket.The group came out of hiding and saw the strange creature using one of the heads as a makeshift stool.The group nervously made its way to the creature that was looking in the distance . Twilight Sparkle was the first to approach trying to muster the courage to speak. Alex noticed that the horse was nervous , he smiled and said :
''Enjoy the show?''
''Erm I...''Twilight stumbled trying to find the right words.
With that a cyan pegasus flew up to his face and said in excitement ''That was AWESOME! You defeated a Hydra by yourself nopony has ever managed that!'' RainbowDash was beaming with excitement.
Alex was a bit surprised at the pony's reaction and said ''I'm not a pony and you are?'' He asked a hint of curiosity in his voice.
''My name is RainbowDash and I'm the fastest flyer in Equestria .''She boasted pumping her chest forward.''More importantly who are you and what are you?!'' she continued .
Alex was a bit amused by this RainbowDash and said ''My name is Alex Mercer and I'm a human or if you want to get technical on the species homo sapiens sapiens.''He extended his hand.
Rainbow looked at it for a few seconds examining it , it was very different from a hoof ,it had claw like appendages sorta like a dragon's claw but with no scales. ''Pleased to meet you Alex.'' She extended her hoof and his hand wrapped around it .It was a warm soft sensation , gentle but firm at the same time , he shook it a few times and let go . He then jumped down and looked at the other ponies .
''M-my name is Twilight Sparkle and I want to thank you for saving us .''Twilight said nervously .
''Your welcome and you can relax I'm not gonna bite.''He smiled."And by the way whats with the purple lizard on your back?''
She turned her head to see the purple dragon still on her back ''Oh , this is Spike and he's not a lizard he's a baby dragon, and don't worry he just passed out from the shock.''She looked back at Alex who was deep in thought.
''Wait...dragon? That reminds me, were the heck am I ?''He asked suddenly realizing that he may not be on Earth anymore.
''You're in the Everfree forest in the land of Equestria, why? ''She noticed him deep in thought.
''Great I'm stuck in another world ,*sigh* how convenient.''He wasn't too shocked knowing the instability of the weapon Black-watch tried to use.
''Ok...Well let me introduce you to my other friends: This is Rarity.''She pointed at the purple maned unicorn.
''Charmed I'm sure.''
''AppleJack .''She pointed at the orange pony.
''Howdy.''
''Fluttershy...Err Fluttershy you can come out now he's not gonna harm us , *sigh* Applejack could you get Fluttershy please , I'm sorry Alex she's just shy.''She said with a hint of embarrassment .'' And this is PinkiePie .''She pointed at a pink pony that was grinning from ear to ear.
''Hi I'm PinkiePie, and I like party's do you like party's?Also I throw the best party's in all of Equestria .Oh that reminds me we need to throw a big party just for you since you defeated that hydra and saved us from getting eaten , and since your new in Equestria *gasp* and that means you don't have anyfriendsandthatssadandpratyisthebestwaytomakenewfriends! ''She said in one breath and kept bouncing .Alex was a bit disturbed by the pink pony's outburst , he shrugged it off and asked.
''Is she always like this ?''
''Just when she meets new ponies.''Twilight said. A moan from behind her getting her attention,a certain baby dragon was waking up .
''Ugh...Twilight?Where ,where are we ?''The purple dragon was coming to.''I remember ...THE MONSTER , THE HYDRA...''His eyes shot open and noticed Alex standing there grinning with the dead beast behind him.''W-what happened...''Spike manage to mutter still in shock at the scene in front of him.
''Spike this here is Alex and he saved us from the Hydra!''Twilight said in excitement.
''W-wow , What magic did you use?''The purple dragon said eyes widening as he looked at the figure in front of him. He just noticed how big he really was, Twilight's head barely reaching its chest .He smiled and said.
''I didn't , as for that 'Hydra' I can't say it was exactly challenging .''He smiled with pride.
The group's jaws hit the floor at what he said .Twilight tried to speak but Alex continued .
''Wait, so this world has magic...''He asked but before continuing something got his attention, his eyes started glowing a faint blue and started looking around.''We should get moving before any other flesh hungry freaks show up.''
''R-right we should leave for Ponyville , and why are your eyes glowing?''Twilight asked.
Alex turned off his thermal vision and said''One of the perks of being me .''Alex smiled.
''B-but did you really had to kill it ?''Applejack asked.
''With that kind of blood-lust in its eyes I doubt it would have stopped even after it finished you off.''He said casually."And I don't suppose you could help me get back would you ?I need to find out what happened to the city after that worm-hole opened.''He continued.
''The what now?''Asked Twilight.
''The black portal in the sky trough which that came trough ''he said pointing at the ruble and debris'' What you see there is part of the city and I don't know how much that portal sucked in !''
''Erm maybe the princesses could help you ...Oh that reminds me Spike take a note we need to report what we found!'' Twilight said in excitement .
''Fascinating , now lets move I'm sure you can write while you walk!''He said .
''Sorry, let's get moving .''
Twilight and the group walked with Alex for a while asking him what happened , how he got there , they also asked about his world and how they managed without magic .Twilight sent her letter and joined the conversation . He explained as best as he could,leaving out the gory details and the fact that he's a genetic weapon of mass destruction, plus various other elements regarding his lif.
*20 min after arriving at the edge of the forest :
The princesses laid at the forest entrance awaiting the elements of Harmony .Luna was getting frustrated and was about to speak her mind when a scroll materialized in front of her sister which she began to read out loud. The ponies were shocked at what she read .
''A-a Hydra ?Single hoofedly ? That's impossible !''Said SilverMane a light blue unicorn with silver mane and tail.
''I doubt the elements of Harmony would lie captain !''Celestia spoke softly.
''Yes,I'm quite excited at meeting a creature from another world !''Luna said almost bouncing.
''But what if he's dangerous I mean they said he took down a Hydra and barely broke a sweat.''A slightly worried lieutenant said . He was a grayish pegasus with light yellow mane and tail known as GoldenBeam.
''Lieutenant are you implying we can't take care of ourselves ?''Luna asked jokingly.
''Of course not...''The embarrassed pegasus said.
''Besides he saved Twilight and her friends we can safely assume he will be friendly.''Celestia spoke.
''Shouldn't we send a message back big sister ?They might get startled.''Said Luna.
''Oh no and besides I want to surprise my little ponies.''Celestia spoke.
*10 min from the forest entrance a runner was bored and let out a healthy yawn before speaking .*
''Ok I think I get the point and it seems were almost out .''Alex felt something was up and used his thermal vision to notice four heat signatures waiting at the exit before saying ''Say Twilight is someo...er pony waiting for us ?''.
''No ,why?''Twilight asked with a hint of concern.
''No reason.''He smiled .As he and the group approached the exit Alex had slipped behind unnoticed by the group who were relieved to finally be out.The runner smiled as he circled the forest exit 'Time for a little surprise.'

Chapter four
*The group finally got out of the forest and were surprised to see the two royal sisters waiting at the edge of the forest. The group gave a bow and Twilight was the first to speak:*
"Princess what are you doing here?''
"Oh I just came to see if my faithful student and her friends were alright. Now, Twilight where is your new friend? Alex, was it?'' She spoke in a motherly voice as Twilight got up and replied.
''Oh yes, maybe he needed to 'relieve' himself.'' Twilight blushed a little.
Behind the princesses and the guards the runner spoke:
''Far from it.''
Gasps from the guards and the princesses made Alex smile.
"I wasn't sure if this was an ambush or a friendly meeting.'' He said nonchalantly.
Twilight was a bit shocked but said: ''Y-you knew they were here? H-how?''
His eyes glowed a faint blue and he said: ''I have good eyes .'' (Still smirking.) ''And I assume these are your leaders?''
He said examining the two alicorns. "I'm not impressed.''
' *sigh* They are talking horses, well ponies. I really have to stop overestimating my opponents its not like they could pull a strike team from thin air...' He thought. His last comment snapped Golden Beam back to reality who chose to stand up for the princess.
''S-show some respect you're in the presence of the highest authority in Equestria!" He said his voice shaking a little.
Alex examined the frightened pony and laughed.
''W-whats so funny?'' Golden Beam asked slightly irritated.
''You can't expect me to take you seriously with that armor hahahaha!'' He continued.
''*Grrr* What's wrong with my armor?'' Golden Beam was starting to get angry.
''Well the design is horrible and flawed, and it says that the most serious mission you ever had was guarding the entrance to a tea party!'' He said matter-of-factually.
Golden Beam was about to go on a rampage when the runner's words hit him like a ton of bricks. The worst he actually saw WAS guarding the princesses' tea party so instead of raging he became embarrassed.
Rainbow Dash seemed to remember that and started laughing her flank off. Alex took notice of this and decided to add insult to injury.
''I take it that means I was right. Man I needed a good laugh, I feel for you. Whatever it is their paying, it's not enough!'' Alex was doing his best to enrage the stallion, and it worked. Golden Beam couldn't take any more and snapped.
''THAT'S IT, I'M GOING TO TEACH YOU NOT TO MAKE FUN OF THE ROYAL GUARDS!!!''
''Oh, gag me.'' Alex said as he jumped ten feet backwards. He took stance and said. ''Well I'm in a good mood, so do your worst.''
Golden Beam pawed at the ground in anger, steam coming from his nostrils and pure rage in his eyes. Alex continued to smile as he waited for the stallion to attack, this would be his first fight were he didn't have to kill his opponent. Golden Beam launched himself forward using his wings to gain speed and surprise Alex. But he quickly realized, it wasn't the best idea to attack an alien creature that supposedly defeated a Hydra. Once he reached striking distance he found himself stammering backwards looking at the sky, his helmet at least 20 feet above his head. The runner had one finger up in the air, he leaned forward as the guard regained his balance. The guard's eyes widened when he saw Alex's hand in front of him , a flip of a finger later the guard found himself flying. Luckily he was caught by captain Silvermane. He felt as if a mountain collided with his head and then he blacked out.
''Hardly a challenge.'' Said Alex in an emotionless voice.
The princesses managed to keep a straight face, but just barely. As for the mane six : Rarity fainted in a dramatic way, Pinkie Pie was grinning, Applejack had her jaw hit the floor, Fluttershy was hiding behind Applejack, Twilight was awed and Rainbow Dash almost let out a fan-girl squeal.
For the most time on the way towards Ponyville she constantly talked about Alex's fight with the Hydra and how awesome it was, it was flattering but annoying as well.
Silvermane looked at his unconscious friend and then glared at Alex. He simply shrugged it off and smiled.
''Hey, he attacked first, tell you what, I will give you a free shot, no retaliation so make it count.''
He patted his chest and a crazy smile broke on Silvermane's face .
''You're going to regret that offer.'' He said in a psychotic tone.
''*sigh*Just get on with it I don't have all day.''Alex said clearly not impressed.
Silvermane recalled what happened when his friend got to close and decided that a ranged attack was a better alternative. He spoke.
''I will turn you into ASH!''
Alex simply motioned for him to carry on. The unicorn wasn't thinking straight and channeled all his energy into a single spell. He cast the spell and Alex was engulfed by a giant firestorm. The guard had a twisted smile on his face and was on the verge of collapsing from the effort. An entire minute passed until a cyan mare realized what just happened, tears starting to flow down her cheeks as she screamed in horror.
''Alex NOOOOOO!''
She yelled at the top of her lungs and tried to fly towards the blazing inferno. She was covered by a purple aura pinning her down. She looked over and saw an upset Twilight with tears in her eyes, but before she could say anything a familiar voice responded.
''Yes Rainbow, what do you want?''
All the heads turned to the pillar of flames and saw a hand effortlessly reach out and disperse the fire in one swift move. Alex stepped out of the fire not in the least affected by the flames.
''I'm right here you don't need to shout.''
He said it like nothing happened.
'This was nothing compared to the modified napalm those Black-watch assholes used, and even that wasn't very effective in the end.'
He smiled as he remembered. He received shocked looks from the ponies who were watching, since two were unconscious and another was to afraid to look .
''What?'' He asked as if he wasn't expecting those reactions.
Silvermane (barely awake) managed to mutter ''H-how...'' Before falling into unconsciousness.
Alex looked at the guard and threw his hands behind his head.
''Well this is the first fight I ever won by doing absolutely nothing.''
He said still smiling. Princess Luna was shocked and impressed at the same time but kept a straight face, her sister on the other hand(hoof?) had a weird grin on her face.
''That was impressive, you've managed to take down two of my best guards with ease, I would like to know more about your kind and what you can do. I would like you to come with me to Canterlot to answer a few questions and to make sure you are not a threat to my little ponies.'' She said in a calm voice.
Alex looked at her and cocked an eyebrow.
''Twilight can give any information you might need and as for going with you... I will have to decline.''A smug grin creped on his face.
''If you don't come willingly I will be forced to take action, I know it's confusing but I must make sure you won't cause any disturbance.''
''What is confusing is that you believe I actually give a crap. You can take your demand and shove it up your royal ass. I will not go with you and really there isn't much you can do about it.''
He said in a slightly annoyed tone. He never liked arrogant or conceited people like Black-Watch who kept coming even though they didn't stand a chance.
Everypony except Celestia cringed at the statement. He was politely requested to come with her and he just had the nerve to tell her away like that.
''I cannot allow you to roam free until I'm certain you won't harm anypony.''
Alex ignored her and began walking towards the town when he felt a small tap on his back accompanied by a bright flash of white. Celestia had sent a spell at Alex who shrugged it off and turned around saying:
''So you wish to go against me? You have no idea who you're up against.''
Alex bowed his head just enough so that his hood would cover his eyes, a sick, evil grin appearing on his face. Looking at him the ponies noticed his mood has changed, it was like an aura of fear and death was forming around him.
''I'm not your average carbon-based biped.'' He said as he took stance.
''Luna get the guards and the girls to a safe spot, it would seem our new friend needs to be taught some manners!''
Celestia said smirking. Luna did as her sister asked and carried the three unconscious ponies to the edge of the forest. Once the ponies were safe Celestia's horn grew bright and a ball of light was sent flying towards Alex, He hit the ball with the back of his palm, easily sending it into a random direction. After reaching a safe distance Rarity had managed to wake up, confusion in her eyes as she noticed the fight going on.
''W-what did I miss?'' She asked with concern in her voice.
''Your new friend Alex failed to comply with our request and is now fighting my sister.'' Answered Luna.
''B-but why, he didn't harm any of us and protected us from that horrible beast!''
''I know, but after the performance with the guards and his rudeness I believe my sister wants to teach him a lesson.''
Rarity went silent and all the ponies went back to watching the fight. A giant rock pillar rose underneath Alex who skillfully avoided it with a back-flip. As he landed a white light began engulfing his body. The pillar was merely a distraction. Celestia summoned a powerful binding spell, it would seem victory was at hoof but Alex wasn't done yet.
Alex burst trough the force-field with ease shattering it, like it was made of glass. Celestia predicted this, her horn glowing brighter as a wave of electricity was sent towards him, gaining speed and power as it neared the runner. Alex stood there not moving, preparing for impact. The ponies and princess Celestia were confused as to why Alex was just standing there. He knew it wouldn't be enough to kill him and the virus was slowly modifying his body to be more resistant to magic. As the strike connected with his body, a pillar of light exploded, surrounding the area with a blinding flash.
As the light dispersed, the familiar sounds of jaws dropping could be heard. Alex was sitting there hands in his pockets smirking at their reactions. The blast affected him sure, but the virus instantly regenerated any damage he sustained. He was building up resistance.
''Are you even trying? You'll have to do better than that.'' He said in a smug tone.
'It seems he is very resistant to magic I guess this leaves me little choice.' Celestia thought as a dark-purple aura began forming around her body, her eye glowing bright white, a purple flame forming on her wings and horn.
''Cool trick, do you perform at party's too?'' He said smirking.
''If you're treating this like a game! It's time to get serious, I will not let anypony be harmed because your nonchalantness!''
Everypony was in awe as they saw Celestia's battle aura take shape and maxing her powers.
''Yeah, I dare you, rage quit make us both happy.'' He mocked. ''Show me what you got Pixie Dust.''
'This should be interesting. '
Celestia rushed at Alex a blast spell was at the tip of her horn. He flipped to the side as the spell was sent, it left a crater where Alex was standing, a wave of dust was everywhere. She looked around spotting Alex as he rushed to her side rearing his fist. Celestia dodged in the nick of time, Alex had his fist charged and after she dodged it a crater erupted from where she had been a moment ago, the small shock from the impact gathering dust as it went. She then turned to Alex sending a barrage of energy blasts towards him, but all projectiles were batted away by his swift moves. She was also holding a charged fire spell, her horn burning stronger from it.
''I will give you one last chance.'' She said in a calm, yet demanding voice. ''Come quietly and you won't be harmed.''
''Loosing confidence princess? Do YOUR WORST.'' He challenged.
"I hate using violence, but if it is the only way you will comprehend, then you give me no choice in the matter."
Celestia said as she sent the spell, the flaming tornado leaving a burnt path in its wake. It was a lot more potent than Silvermane's. Celestia gave a grin. She knew it was over and everything would calm down but, she didn't know Alex. Needless to say he knew how to react to the spell, merely seconds after the purple inferno hit Alex, a swift move broke it with ease and dispersed the spell. Celestia was shocked and turned her head towards the mane six, her horn glowing and the elements of Harmony appeared by her side.
''P-princess are you sure?'' Twilight asked as she looked at her mentor.
''Yes hurry now.'' Celestia said in a calm voice. The mane six turned to Alex who smiled and motioned for them to continue full of confidence. They all got behind Twilight and they suddenly started to float in midair, a lavender bubble surrounded them. This caught Alex's attention as Celestia was in her combat position. All of the mane six's eyes started to glow and their element's started to glow white, each beam looped to another from Rainbow Dash to Applejack then to Rarity, to Pinkie Pie and to Fluttershy, and finally to Twilight whose eye's glowed white like her mentor's. The energy of the Elements of Harmony instead of going to Alex, was headed towards a charged spell at the tip of Celestia's horn, into a magic ball. the ball was white instead of purple, it seemed to be beating, like a heart beat, calm, slow and warming. Alex backed a few feet and went into a defensive position. Celestia then threw the combined energy blast at him, giving a victorious grin.
Alex simply waited for the energy to hit his body. The spell connected, the elements turned away from the scene except Celestia. The energy swallowed Alex completely seeming to disintegrate the runner's body. A moment later it exploded and a wall of light pierced the very sky from the amount of power used in the spell. The mane six looked sad and on the verge of tears as Celestia turned to speak to comfort them.
Her battle aura no longer active and the sad look on her face spoke that she never wanted this to happen. She was about to speak when a metallic sound interrupted her action.
*CLAP* Then another sound. *CLAP* And another. *CLAP* Almost rhythmic. The light from the spell faded and a creature walked out from the wall of light. *CLAP*.
The ponies were horrified as the creature took another step *CLAP*. The runner stopped and clapped again the armor began receding from his hands and then his entire body.
*clap clap clap*
The creature now known to be Alex was applauding while smiling.
'Genetics 1 Magic 0' He thought to himself. The ponies didn't know how to react.
''An admirable effort princess, had it been any other human it would have been vaporized.'' He said with pride.'' But I'm not your average human and I don't take kindly to arrogance.''
Before they could react he shifted his arms into claws and began sprinting towards Celestia, the ground bellow him exploding from the pressure as he reached incredible speeds leaving little to no time to react. He had reached the princess and the only thing she could do was pray for it being quick. She closed her eyes and waited for the blow as Alex reared his right arm ready to slice her head off. The group's eyes widened as time seemed to slow down, his claw moving in a sweeping motion.
*Nothing*
Alex just stood there his gaze locked with that of a yellow pegasus, he couldn't move. He felt something poking on the back of his mind like it was trying to overlap his control over his body. He began searching for answers examining the pegasus a bit more closely.
'Hmm interesting ability, probably activated in dire situations, forcing the target into a mental breakdown and into submission. Nice, these ponies are full of surprises.'
The virus began working, setting dividing barriers in the back of his mind, dispersing the effect of the stare.It didn't took long, a minute at best and Alex could move again.
He smiled and said.
''Fluttershy, it's rude to stare.''
This snapped the yellow pegasus out of her trance and with a yelp she went back to her old shy self. Alex chuckled at the cuteness, he remembered where he was and retracted his claws. With normal hands he snapped his fingers a couple of times to awake the princess. She fearfully opened her eyes to meet the gaze of the runner. She was happy to still have her head attached to her body, yet she wondered why he didn't end the battle. Alex decided to break the silence.
''What?No sense of humor?'' The ponies were dumbstruck at the statement. ''Oh c'mon I wouldn't take an innocent life no matter how annoying it is.''
He of course had taken innocent lives, many, but that was when he was blinded by rage and driven by revenge. He was on the path to redemption.
''What?'' He asked as he looked in disbelief at the glances he was receiving, like he just blasphemed the worst profanity.
Luna began trotting over to her sister and the runner, leaving the guards to rest under a tree. Her hooves were slightly shaking and she was incredibly nervous. Alex just waited there for a kind of response but backed away a bit, considering personal space and leaving them room to think. Luna slowly made her way towards the runner. He noticed her and gave a warm smile waving at her. She stopped at a 'safe' distance and wanted to speak but was interrupted when he spoke before her.
''Well hello, nice of you to join the party.'' She wanted to speak but was interrupted again, this time by a pink, suddenly excited pony.
''Oh there's a party? Where? Oh I love party's, with balloons, confetti and streamers, and songs, and punch, and Cupcakes, I LOVE CUPCAKES!'' Pinkie said in her normal bubbly voice. Alex laughed a bit before saying.
''Good to see that at least one of you is passed the initial shock.'' Alex smiled. ''You can go ahead and ask whatever you want, I'm sure you have a lot of questions so it's better if we get rid of them early.''
He waited for somepony to break the silence. Luna decided to try and speak again since she was the least shocked.
''W-why did you attacked us?'' She asked her voice shaking a little.
''I didn't. It was self-defense.''
''I see...Why didn't you come peacefully?'' She continued.
''I was having fun. The walk to town was boring and I tried to lighten the mood.''
'That and the arrogance you ponies portrayed annoyed me to no end, I just had to do something.'
''FUN? LIGHT THE MOOD?I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO KILL MY SISTER!'' She yelled using the Royal Canterlot voice.
'WTF?'
Alex thought almost getting blasted from the volume.
''Oi, mind turning the volume down? I'm five feet away for Christ's sake!''
The voice was deafening and could probably break windows or even walls. This seemed to snap Luna out of her outburst.
''And you attacked me I'm not one to go down without a fight.''
''Only because you didn't comply with...''
''Your laws, not mine. I don't have a lot of faith in 'high authority'.''
''How so?''
''The obvious, if you didn't notice I'm a bit different.''
''So...not every human has those powers?''
Alex opened his mouth but words didn't come out instead an audible *smack* could be heard as his hand connected with his face.
''You're joking, right? I'm pretty sure Twilight sent a report detailing humans pretty well!''
The group began to come to their sense listening to the casual conversation between Luna and Alex.
''*sigh* Listen, humans aren't strong, and don't posses powers or magic. But they are very smart and capable of creating very advanced tools and machines, I detailed them pretty well so the report should be enough for now.''
''You speak as though you are not one of them.''
''Well I'm not, at least not entirely.''
''T-then what are you?'' Twilight finally spoke her voice shaking as she approached the runner.
''Official term is 'runner' unofficial term is shape-shifter. I think you need to hear my story to fully comprehend what I am. So get comfortable this is gonna take a while.''
He walked to a conveniently placed rock and planted himself on it. He motioned for the group to come closer. They gathered round and listened intensely, fear being replaced by curiosity. He pulled down his hood and looked up at the sun to feel the warmth on his face, then he looked at the ponies and smiled.
''My story begins 25 days ago but the events that triggered it started even earlier. A company called GenTek were working on modifying a new virus for several purposes, if successful, they would have created a cure for every illness known to man. As you can guess it didn't turn out to well. The virus was called BLACKLIGHT and it was kept hidden from public eyes. One employee figured out something was wrong and decided to uncover what was really happening. He discovered the conspiracy and managed to get a hold of a vial containing the virus. He was discovered and was forced to flee. Reaching a metro station, he was cornered and in a last attempt he smashed the vial releasing the virus. He and several others were killed on the spot.'' He paused for air.
''What does that have to do with you?'' Luna asked intrigued by the story.
''That employee was me.'' The ponies were shocked.
''B-but you said they were killed!'' Luna cringed at the last word.
''They were, I woke up at the morgue in the GenTek building with no memory of who I was. The scientists who were about to carve me up mentioned my name and after I woke up, they fled and sounded the alarm. I had no idea where to go and what to do. They mentioned I had a sister and I went to look for her.''
He kept his story smooth and simple the ponies being more and more shocked as he went. He explained the two factions out to get him: the United States Marines Corps and Blackwatch. He told them what happened after making contact with his sister, he told them about Elizabeth Greene. He explained her role,he told them about PARIAH and mentioned how all this could have been avoided if they weren't so arrogant and selfish.
He continued his story mentioning when he received some of his powers. He told them how he was betrayed by Karen Parker, telling them about CURE and how he tried to use it against Elizabeth which didn't end well. How he had found an ally in Dr.Ragland and how he helped Alex to neutralize the infection. He mentioned how Blackwatch upped the ante with the BLOODTOX and how they managed to modify certain strands of the virus to create super-soldiers. He explained their role and how much he hated them because of their ability to spot him and because of how hard they were to kill. He told them about his sister and how she was captured by Greene, in the end 'neutralizing' her, saving his sister and learning of the threat heading towards the city.
He was pausing from time to time to let the ponies catch their breath, they were listening intently. He reached the part where he fought the Supreme hunter on the USS Ronald Reagan and how he saved the city from both infected and the military. Alex wasn't responsible for this they could have stopped it but chose not to, he left out the parts where he consumed beings to reach his goals also leaving out the gory details. He was forced into this.
''Hive after Hive, Base after Base slowly cleaning up the city because of someone else's mistake.''
He continued telling them about 'The last resort' and how it threatened the city, forcing him to send Ragland with his sister out of the city. After about four hours he reached the end of his story saying:
''And thats how I ended up here. Now if you have any questions please raise your ha...hoof and I will answer as best as I can.''
The mane six and both Princesses raised one of their hooves simultaneously leaving Alex to choose.
''Ok...Princess Celestia I know you will ask if I will harm anypony, the answer is no I won't, please lower your hoof if you don't have any other questions.''
She lowered her hoof slowly thinking about what to ask.
''Luna, go ahead.''
''You said you were 'infected' does this mean the virus will affect anypony?''
''No I'm perfectly safe, the virus is contained within my body and since I don't bleed, it can't get out, its a bit more complicated than that but explaining it would be to much of a bother right now.'' Another hoof lowered.
''Applejack ask away.''
''You mentioned super-soldiers, how strong are they?''
''Hmm compared to me...Well when they first arrived they were as strong as me, before I came here they had gone down to only a third of my strength. After waking up here they go down to one forth, Why?.''
' This reminds me it seems the virus is still working, like its remodeling some of my back bones I wonder why.'
''In case they come here like you did, we would need to prepare for the worst.''
''Well don't worry about that, I came here by accident and the only thing that they cared was getting rid of me. So with that accomplished they probably got back to their usual business.'' She nodded satisfied with the response.
"Fluttershy go ahead.''
''Um...you won't harm any animals will you...If you don't mind me asking.'' She said barely audible, it was quite adorable.
''No Fluttershy I won't.''
'Alright next one.'
''Rarity go ahead.''
''Oh darling I simply must know where you got your clothes the design is excellent and it blends together wonderfully.''
'Really a fashion question?*sigh* might as well get this out of the way.'
"Rarity I'm a shape-shifter. These clothes are genetically made at molecular level so I can simply put, change my clothes and style whenever I want, see?''
He then changed his clothes to black long-coat, black leather pants and jacket, black boots and even sunglasses. He remained that way a few seconds before changing back.
''I will tell you later about styles and such from my world. But for now Twilight please ask. ''
''What will you do now?''
''I guess I will stick around, go sightseeing and helping I guess. I will figure it out as I go, I expect the princesses over there will work day and night to send back the genetic weapon of mass destruction.''
He smiled pointing at himself, the princesses looked embarrassed as if it was suppose to be hard to figure out what they were thinking.
''Don't worry I don't blame you, I'm still getting used to what I can do. Rainbow go ahead.''
''Ugh, finally! So, besides those claws and armor what other powers do you have?'' This sparkled the curiosity in the other ponies as well. Alex explained the two visions and what they did.
''Not that, something cooler, and don't just tell us, show us too!''
''You seriously want to see me change my arms into dangerous weapons?''
He asked cocking an eyebrow. Sure everypony was still scared but curiosity got the better of them and they all nodded in agreement.
''Fine.'' He jumped off the rock a feet backwards. ''My second defensive ability that doesn't sacrifice speed is the shield.'' A huge shield formed around his arm.
''Ok thats impressive, but you can't attack with a shield can you?'' Rainbow smiled triumphantly.
''Thats the fun part about being me. I can mix different powers as I need observe.''
His other arm turned into a giant blade at which everypony dropped their jaw. It was massive and looked like it would go trough anything. He the turned his shield arm into a claw and he looked like the last thing you would want to run into at night.
''One of my favorite combos.'' He decided against showing Musclemass and Hammerfists since they were irrelevant.
''That's all?'' Rainbow asked though clearly containing her excitement.
''Just one more.'' He smiled proudly as his left arm returned to normal and his right arm turning into his Whipfist.
''I was expecting something cooler.'' She said sounding a bit disappointed.
Alex backed a few more feet rearing his right arm. He threw his fist forward, a chain like weapon extending towards the rock he was sitting on a few minutes earlier. The rock was pulled from the ground revealing to be slightly larger, it went towards Alex who flung it into the air. It was about to descend on top of the runner when his whipfist cut the rock in half with ease. His fist returned to normal as the two pieces fell to the ground on both sides of the runner's body.
''Impressive enough?''
He smirked, it was fun showing off his powers without having to use them to fight, it was a nice change of pace. As for the group, their jaws went down even more dangling like they were disconnected.
''THAT.WAS.AWESOME!'' Rainbow yelled in excitement.
''Really? I thought it would certainly freak you out and you'd run in horror.'' He said almost sarcastically.
''Are you kidding? That was great. With that kind of powers I doubt even dragons would be a challenge.''
''Thanks for the vote of confidence kid. Now I think it would be a good idea to leave.''
Celestia shook her head.
''Very well we shall head to Ponyville and reassure the residents. I hope you understand when I ask you not cause trouble.'' Her tone was rather strict considering she was about to be decapitated a few hours earlier.
''Don't worry if Blackwatch don't magically pop out of the woods, then everything will be fine.'' He said reassuringly. ''What about them?'' He asked pointing towards the unconscious guards.With everything that had happened they were kind of forgotten.
''Oh, yes, I almost forgot, Luna please take Golden Beam and Silvermane back to the Palace and explain the situation when they wake up.'' Celestia told her sister in a calm yet firm tone.
''Alright, I will be back as soon as possible.''
She trotted to the guards and a dark-blue light engulfed all three ponies then they disappeared without trace. Alex was impressed and a bit shocked but shook it off and said.
''Shall we go?''
They all nodded and began walking towards the town.
'Talking ponies, magic, mythical creatures I still wonder if I'm going insane!'
Author's note: This will never go on hiatus if your wondering. Even though the next chapter will be smaller it will still be top quality [ <--- as good as I can possibly make it].

As they began walking towards the town Alex couldn't help but feel he had forgotten something. He slowly turned his head eying the group as if searching for something he missed. The only thing he saw out of place was the baby dragon who had been asleep ever since his fight with the princess, which was good since he didn't have to listen to his gory tale. His train of thought was interrupted however by princess Celestia.
''Alex.''
''Hmmm?''
''Since you have agreed not to harm any of my little ponies, I must also ask you not to show your 'abilities' in public.'' She had only good intentions and wanted to make sure unnecessary panic would be avoided.
'Is she serious?' Alex asked himself making sure he had heard that right.
''I'm impressed princess it seems you have yet another great talent.'' Her ears perked at that a bit to eager to hear the runners recognition.
''And what would that be?'' She asked happily. The group suddenly stopped their own conversations to listen in.
''Pointing out the obvious.'' Alex said in an slightly annoyed tone while dropping his fake smile.
''W-what?'' Celestia asked, not realizing the irony of what she had said earlier.
''Did you honestly thought it necessary to tell me that using my powers would cause horrible panic?'' He said raising an eyebrow.
''I...uhm.'' She suddenly realized how foalish she sounded asking that.
*deep sigh* "Lets just go. I-''
*fzzzzzz*
A sound interrupted him in mid-sentence. 'Did something deflate?' He asked himself turning to the group to search for the source of the sound. A small distance behind the group Pinkie had changed. Her mane was deflated, her eyes grew sadder and she barely kept a small smile.
Alex knew something was wrong and couldn't help but feel connected. He just couldn't put his finger on it, he closed his eyes and decided to relieve the past few hours to find the source of the problem. He didn't recall anything out of order. Telling his story, explaining the situation, answering questions.
'Wait...' He replayed in his memory what happened after Rainbow Dash asked her question. Pinkie never got hers answered .
'I see... So thats what I forgot, but... Is that why she's sad?' Alex opened his eyes only a few seconds actually passing.
''Pinkie are you alright?'' Twilight asked slightly concerned.
''Y-yes *sniff* I'm fine.'' She said in a sad tone.
''Sugarcube you sure your alright?'' Applejack added.
''It might because I forgot to answer her question.'' The runner voiced his opinion. All heads turned to the middle of the group where Alex was.
''Oh, *sniff* it's alright, you had more important questions than mine to answer.'' She said in a sweet voice.
'Cute.' Alex thought as he approached the pink pony, he brought himself to her level.
''Sorry kid I didn't mean to forget.'' He slowly reached towards her with his hand and gently placed it behind her head and stroked her fur. She didn't wince, instead she began to relax enjoying the feeling.
''Now Pinkie what did you want to ask me?'' He said in a warm tone.
''I...just wanted to know if you would like a party after the town meets you?''
Alex's memory went back to what happened about two weeks after he got his powers. He was thirsty and in the mood for some energy drinks so he went to a local store to buy some. The outcome wasn't nice. But since this was a new world with no Black-Watch, the possibility of a thermobaric tank ruining his day were significantly smaller. He thought a party was a great way to get his mind off all the stress and decided to accept.
''Sure Pinkie I would love that.'' He said in a sincere tone. She instantly perked up her bright smile returning to her face. Her mane inflated on the spot.
'WTF?' Was the only thing he managed to think noticing the sudden change and the fact that his hand was caught in the fluffy mane. Right before being thrown onto his back and into a bear-hug by the pink pony. If it wasn't for his inhuman strength it would have probably hurt.
''Yaaaaayyy!!! I will make you the bestest party in the whole of Equestria!!!''
Several awkward seconds later, Alex got up with the pink pony still clinging to him.
''Pinkie?''
''Yes?'' She said her face still buried in his chest.
''Let go.'' Alex said in an unamused tone.
''But your so comfortable, do I have to?''
''Yes it's getting awkward.'' She reluctantly let go and Alex looked around and saw the ponies with shocked looks.
''What?''
Twilight chuckled.
''Oh nothing, I'm just impressed you cheered Pinkie like that.''
''And Ah reckon you're the only one to be able to take a Pinkie-hug full force.''Added Applejack.
''Right... Lets pretend this never happened and continue.''

Meanwhile in castle Canterlot, the two guards, Golden Beam and Silvermane where being explained the situation with the newest inhabitant of Equestria by the princess of the Night herself. They weren't taking it well when they learned of the defeat of both Celestia and The elements of Harmony. She then proceeded to tell a shorter version of the runner's tale. The guards by this point were confused and angry, yet became mortified when they learned of his abilities.
''And that is why you must not speak of what happened. And why any plans for revenge will probably end in failure. Do you understand?''
The two stallions nervously nodded. Luna had already answered most of their questions. After a while she dismissed the guards and they returned to their duties.
Trusting in the judgment of their princess they decided not fret on how to take care of Alex. She looked outside and noticed that there were a few good hours before she would need to raise the moon. As she trotted towards the doors out of the throne room a light-brown unicorn stallion entered the room and stopped her as he levitated a huge stack of papers and scrolls in front of her.
''Your majesty here are the rest of the paper-work for today.''
He let go of the giant stack and it hit the floor with and audible *thud*. Luna's eyes widened but before she could say anything the stallion was already gone. She looked at the mass of papers before her.
''Oh horseapples...''

The group reached the edge of Ponyville. Alex stopped and so did the group. He looked at the buildings slowly analyzing them carefully. He sighed, then frowned, considered suicide but decided against it. The group noticed his halt and Twilight was first to speak.
''Alex, is something wrong?''
''I think I'm gonna be sick.''
''Why?''
He rubbed his eyes with his hand in frustration ''This place looks like it came from 12 year olds fantasy, it just burns my eyes. That and I hate puns.'' Alex honestly felt uncomfortable, he could adapt anywhere but this was exaggerated even for him.
Twilight frowned. ''Well if you don't like it you can always go back to the forest.'' She said sarcastically.
''Good idea, if anyo...pony needs me I'm at the crash site.'' He replied rather seriously.
''WHAT?'' The group yelled in unison.
''No offense but this place just rubs me the wrong way. The forest doesn't seem like a bad alternative.'' The group's jaws fell, feeling somewhat insulted. But they remembered where he came from and what he did so they tried to make him stay. It took a few good minutes and some puppy eyes to convince him. The runner finally gave in when Fluttershy pleaded him.
'I'm gonna regret this.'
''Fine, let's go.''
The group put on a victorious smile as Alex entered the town. He groaned at how colorful it was.
'Whoever painted this town is gonna be introduced to my boot if I ever meet him/her.'
As soon as the ponies noticed Alex, they seemed to froze.
'Thats not right, I was expecting some stereotypical panic.'
As if on queue he heard some ponies scream.
''Monster!" "Run!!" "The Horror, The Horror!''
Alex did his best not to laugh at their reactions, Doors were being locked fillies and colts were taken indoors. The ponies seemed to ignore the fact that princess Celestia and the mane six were around.
''Well that went well.''Alex chuckled.
Twilight sighed in defeat. ''You'd think they learned their lesson after the incident with Zecora.''
''Who?''
''I will tell you later, right now we should think about the best course of action.''
''Twilight I will speak to Mayor Mare immediately and take care of this unpleasant situation.'' The princess reassured.
On a different side of town a light-brown, blue maned pegasus had his nap interrupted by screams of terror. He flew down from his cloud only to hear more screaming.
''The Horror, The Horror!!'' He clearly heard along with the symphony of doors getting slammed.
''For the love of Luna, what are those three screaming about this time?..''
The pegasus frowned as his nap was interrupted, and was not in the mood for shenanigans. He trotted along the streets to look for the source of the commotion. The streets emptied pretty fast, he let out a deep sigh and continued searching. After turning around the next corner, he noticed the mane six and Princess Celestia: they were talking with somepony. Walking towards the group he soon noticed that they weren't talking to another pony, but a weird bipedal creature.
''... Good idea. Since the streets are fairly empty I think a tour of the town would be nice. After that I really want to take a break and relax. 25 days of constant fighting really take it's toll. ''
''We still need to find you a place to stay.'' Rainbow spoke.
''Twilight, my faithful student I believe you have a guest bed for occasions and such. Would you be so kind as to host Alex until me and my sister figure out a way for him to go back home?''
''Awwww I wanted him to stay with me at Sugarcube Corner.'' Pinkie voiced her opinion sounding rather disappointed.
''Pinkie did you forget what I am and what I can do?''Alex asked in a sarcastic tone.
''Nope, nor did I forget how you protected us in the forest from that meanie Hydra and how you chose not harm anypony even when we attacked you.'' She said matter-of-factly.
''Well, seems like you drew the short stick Twilight, sorry.''
''What do you mean?''
''Nevermind. Just try not to get to worked up over this, I won't try anything that would cause problems.''
''I believe you.''
''I think the best way to introduce myself to the rest of the town would be via public meeting. Also it seems we have company.''
The group turned their attention to the approaching stallion. As he came to a stop he finally realized how big the creature was, almost as tall as the princess herself.
He gave a bow to the princess and went back to staring at the runner.
Alex broke the silence. ''I wonder how come you haven't run away yet?''
''I erm... Wow, didn't think you could speak. Anyway, this town tends to exaggerate a lot so I didn't think it was actually something bad, and I'm not one to judge. Also, I don't think I have a reason to run.''
''Looks can be deceiving kid. I'm more dangerous than I look.'' Alex said with pride.
''You are truly intimidating, but I doubt you would try anything since the princess is here.''
''Oh you silly filly he already tried and the princessdin'tevemmffhfhmfhf.'' Alex quickly silenced Pinkie by covering her mouth with his hand.
''Oooo-kaay... Let me introduce myself, my name is Zephyr. Zephyr Verve.'' He extended his hoof.
''Alex. Alex Mercer.'' He shook his hoof.
''Pleased to meet you Alex. Whats up with Pinkie?'' He asked raising an eyebrow.
''She's being herself.'' Alex responded.
''I see, something I can help with?''
''No not really the princess was just leaving to have a chat with the mayor about my arrival. I'm just gonna have a quick tour of the town.''
Zephyr trotted away but felt something was off and decided to watch from a distance. The group dispersed leaving only Alex, Pinkie and Twilight.
''Pinkie are you crazy? You can't slip like that, promise me you won't tell anypony about what happened between Alex and the princess.'' Twilight snapped.
''Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.'' And with that she went back to Sugarcube Corner.
''Thank you Alex, that could have ended badly.'' Twilight sighed in relief.
''No problem, now how about that tour?''
''Of course, just follow me.''
Alex nodded and went on their way.
*Two hours later*
They had made a complete tour of the town with Twilight explaining a little bit about every location of importance, with a familiar light-brown pegasus hot on their trail. He made sure not to be seen and hid in the leaves when they stopped at the library and went inside. He went trough the unlocked window and listened in on their conversation.
''There is a large bed in the guest room which you can use while you stay here, I will bring some pillows and sheets after I tuck Spike in.''
Zephyr managed to hide himself in a closet before Twilight reached her room and tucked the small dragon in his basket. She took some pillows and sheets from a drawer and proceeded to making the bed. Alex was downstairs reading a random book on the sofa. After Twilight was done, she went downstairs to pick up from where they left. Alex put the book on the table and they slowly walked back up.
''Say Alex are you alright?''
''Of course, what do you mean?''
''While we were walking I noticed you twitch from time to time.''
''Oh that. It's nothing important really.'' Alex chuckled.
''Whats so funny?''
''I was just imagining what that guy's face would look like if Pinkie told him I defeated the princess.''
''Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that pony's mind. But I usually stop before I get a headache.''
''Twilight I think you have an admirer.''
''W-what?''
''Yeah he is hiding in the closet over there.''
At that Zephyr bolted out of the closet towards the nearest exit, but Alex quickly grabbed his neck before he could leave. The stallion squirmed but eventually calmed down. Alex left him with Twilight to explain the essentials.
"Alright, I won't tell this to anypony. But you have to swear me that you will tell me the whole story tomorrow!
"Fine, now go before I change my mind." Alex said and changed his eyes to thermal vision, frightening Zephyr a bit.
He flew out in the closest open window.
''Next time lock your windows, will you? I'm going to bed.''
''Yes I guess you are right, sorry about that.''
''No problem he seems understanding enough. Good night Twilight.''
''Good night Alex.''
The runner went to bed and everything fell silent. At around half past midnight after everypony was sound asleep his eyes glowed blue beneath his eyelids. Satisfied with the unmoving heat signatures he silently got out of bed.

After entering the small town and getting 'unexpected' reactions from most ponies the group decided on the best course of action. After some pep talk and almost a serious exposure of an event which was supposed to be secret with a brown pegasus. Princess Celestia parted from the group and headed towards the Town Hall.
As she trotted along the path she made sure to examine the town carefully, ponies were still locked in their homes and few if none even chose to look out the windows. She felt rather irritated by the fact that they haven't even acknowledged her presence. As she was beginning to drift into deep though she had finally reached the center of town, which just like the rest of it was devoid of life. She sighed but kept her composure, she knew a public meeting would be a good idea but getting the ponies over their fears would prove challenging. She formulated a plan and knocked on the door. Nothing, it would seem paranoia has taken it's toll and she did the first thing that came to mind, that is to teleport inside and explain the situation.
She teleported just beyond the door and walked trough the halls in search for the mayor. On her way towards the main hall she made sure to check inside every room. Celestia had reached two wooden double doors marking the mayor's office and proceeded to opening them. They of course were locked, how had her little ponies manage to react so fast baffled her, she frowned and teleported once more. She looked around the office and noticed a trembling silver streak, she called out.
''Mayor Mare?''
The pony stayed silent but clearly recognized the voice. She took a glimpse around the corner of her desk and noticed a rather unamused princess. Mayor Mare came back to her senses and immediately took a bow and apologized for the state of things.
''You may rise, we have very important things to discuss.'' Celestia changed her voice to serious.
''O-of course your majesty what can I help you with?''
Celestia took a deep breath and explained the story of the new arrival and where he came from. She of course had left out her little fight against the runner which didn't end well, and his 'abilities'. She pointed out his physical strength and speed but reassured her that he would not cause trouble. It took the princess almost three hours to explain the situation and decide upon how the meeting should be handled and when it was to be scheduled.
''Then it is settled tomorrow at noon Ponyville will meet Alex. Mayor I would like you to spread the word and send letters to everypony in town. Also there is no need to send Twilight her letter she will receive notice tomorrow. I know it is rather late but I wish this situation resolved as soon as possible.''
''Yes your majesty.''
With that Celestia proceeded to teleport back to the royal palace. After she left the mayor who began on working the letters, she sighed but the excitement of a new creature was enough to keep her going. It would take several hours but she didn't mind it was her job after all.

Meanwhile in castle Canterlot the princess of the night was furiously stamping the royal seal on the many parchments and scrolls which she got stuck with against her own will. The only break she took was when she went to raise the moon. After she was done she yawned and exited the office trotting towards her room. Celestia had just arrived in the throne room, she went out the door to find her sister and tell her the news. As luck would have it she had just bumped into Luna who was heading towards her chambers.
''Ow hello sister so *yawn* how did it go?'' Asked Luna more bored than actually tired.
''Not so well, the ponies completely ignored my and the elements presence and instead ran and locked themselves indoors once they laid eyes on Alex, but he seemed amused by the whole thing.''
''Really? The whole town? Wasn't there a similar situation sometime ago with a zebra?''
''Yes there was and no, the entire town but one, a light-brown pegasus stallion, but I believe it would have been better if he had acted the same way.''
''Why?''
''Pinkie the element of laughter almost divulged the battle me and Alex had.''
''Almost? What happened?''
''He managed to silence her before she could say too much, although that may have created additional problems.''
''How so?''
''He was rather quick and I think that may have created suspicion, that and Alex wasn't embarrassed openly admitting that he is dangerous.
''I see...How shall he meet the townsfolk if they are too scared to even come out?''
''I have discussed the situation with the mayor and set up a public meeting at noon.''
''That is wonderful, will we be attending?''
''Of course, I hate to admit it but I don't trust Alex completely. Speaking of which, I would like you to head over to Ponyville and see if anything has happened after I left.''
''Right now? But I am tired from all the boring paperwork I had to do!''
''I'm sorry Luna but I am really worried and what pony would be better than the princess of the night herself?''
''Fine but after the meeting tomorrow I am heading towards the spa with or without you.''
''*giggle* Very well, I will await to hear what happened tomorrow. Safe journey little sister.''
''*sigh* Goodnight sister.''
Celestia went to her bed chambers and fell asleep. Luna chose to fly to Ponyville so she could stretch her wings and get the boredom out of her system. It was midnight and it would take an hour of flying but it was refreshing. The night was peaceful and Luna took pride in the way she brought the night. Always improving her work, always adding stars and blending them into the midnight sky. She always felt like an artist and the sky was her canvas. She was deep in thought and before she knew it she had reached the outskirts of Ponyville.

"Fine, now go before I change my mind."
Alex said and changed his eyes to thermal vision, frightening Zephyr a bit. He bolted out the nearest window and began thinking. He was in a panicking mode still thinking about what he heard and when Alex's eyes glowed fear took over.
'CRAP. Oh man that was scary, what is he?' Zephyr flew back to his cloud house at insane speeds trying to forget the runner's eyes. He reached his home in record time and did his best to calm down. Sometime later after having dinner, he had a shower and was ready to hit the hay.
He simply laid there in his bed shifting and turning trying to get sleep. He just couldn't get his mind to calm down even if he was tired as heck. His mind was screaming for answers and he decided to try and understand what he learned a little better.
'Okay Zephyr what have you learned? His name is Alex Mercer, he is from a different world and he is definitely more dangerous than he looks.' He was shifting and turning, his mind continued to race. 'He said he defeated the princess but that can't be possible can it? Ugh he said that he would tell me the story tomorrow but I just know he won't tell me everything.'
Zephyr was getting frustrated, he groaned from under the sheets but stopped when he remembered something. ' Wait. WAIT! I...Remember, after I said something about the princess Pinkie started talking I remember what she said but Alex cut her off.' He continued his thought process. 'Okay, what did she say? C'mon Zeph think!'
A few minutes of deep concentration later he finally remembered. 'I remember now she clearly said: 'he already tried and the princess' and thats where he cuts her off. This is making my head hurt.' He rubbed his face with his hooves. 'No I can't give up, she let out something important even though it was muffled I'm sure I heard her say 'did even'. No, it was 'didn't even' .
He began piecing it back together. 'So he already did something right? Then the princess intervened right? Ok now this is where it gets confusing, 'and the princess didn't even...' Didn't even what? This just gets more and more confusing. His head was thumping like crazy and he could feel a migraine coming. After a good portion of time had passed Zephyr was just about to give up, but just when he was about drift away he heard in almost a whisper in the back of his mind 'stand a chance.'
As soon as he heard that he shot up from under the sheets with his eyes wide open. 'NO...It can't be can it? Pinkie wouldn't lie, but was that what she really meant?' He began to calm down. 'It does make sense, the way he talked in the presence of the royal princess. I am not going to give up until I get the whole story.' Zeph began once more to remember something important. 'Alex said the princess was going to talk to Mayor Mare about his arrival. I guess I'm going to have to wait for tomorrow. It's odd even though he may have fought the princess he doesn't seem that bad.' Zephyr finally closed his eyes and drifted into a deep sleep, tomorrow would be a day to remember.

Luna walked into the town looking for anything out of order, she carefully made her way through several alleys searching for anything out of place. She was pleased with the fact than there were no disturbances but decided to fly around the town a bit just to be sure.
At around half past midnight after everypony was sound asleep Alex's eyes glowed blue beneath his eyelids. Satisfied with the unmoving heat signatures he silently got out of bed. He carefully opened the door of his room and walked towards a nearby window.
'Looks like Twilight did listen when I told her to lock her windows.' The runner smiled and undid the latch without so much as a creek. Alex jumped down and once again looked around with his thermal vision to make sure he wouldn't be disturbed. He walked towards an area where he would have enough space, namely the market. He knew the town pretty well due to the tour he had earlier, making mental notes of local points of interest.
'Now lets see what new tricks I've got.' He took a step forward and began concentrating, he hold his arms and gritted his teeth as he focused on accessing the new virus strain. His body felt like it was on fire, first time using a new ability always caused a different kind of pain. But it didn't last, his body began to change and a cool feeling washed over him as his body adjusted to his new power.
Alex examined himself and smiled ''Now for a bit of late night training.'' He said to no one in particular.
Luna began to hover over Ponyville taking in the details and keeping a look out for anything suspicious. As she continued her flight a movement caught with the corner of her eye got her attention. She noticed the library window being opened and hid behind a nearby cloud to get a better look. She saw Alex jumping out the window and landing with a silent thud, she cocked an eyebrow and watched as the runner walked trough the calm empty streets and into the market.
The runner stopped and Luna hid in a nearby alley watching to see why he had came to a halt. She watched him grab his arms and he looked like he was in pain. When he fell to his knees she almost got out of her hiding place to help him. But before she could she saw his body change before her eyes. As the transformation finished her jaw hung at what she was seeing, the runner hadn't shared all of his secrets with them, it was understandable but a secret like this was too important. Her mind raced a thousand miles a second mostly wondering if this power was new and if he would share it with the rest of the ponies.
Alex continued his late night training and was getting the hang of his new found power. He had been training for about three hours and was having a lot of fun. Luna was watching the runner train, mouth still agape. It was impressive, right from the get go he seemed to have full control of his new ability. She stayed like that for the whole time he was training, an impossible feat of agility every now and then made her jaw drop even further.
Alex was having fun, and after a last maneuver he caught a glimpse of something moving in an alley. His eye glowed a faint blue and he stared in the direction of the alley. Alex silently laughed.
Luna just realized Alex used one of his visions and began to panic. She quickly turned and began galloping in the opposite direction. Her heart raced and she forgot about her wings, she ran fast nearing the other side of the alley, she turned her head and to her relief she wasn't followed. She sighed and turned her head to the direction she was heading in, her eyes shrank as they fell upon a familiar face.
''BOO.'' Alex said smiling. Luna did the only logical thing and yelled at the top of her lungs. Alex was laughing a good ten seconds while Luna just screamed that is until the runner cut her off with his hand.
''You're going to wake the whole town if you keep that up.'' He was still grinning. Luna calmed down afterwards and Alex took a step back. He looked at the princess which obviously felt a number of mixed emotions at the time.
''So, you enjoyed the show?'' Alex continued. Luna focused her gaze on the runner before saying.
''W-wait you're not mad?'' Luna said still a bit shaken.
''No... Should I? I mean you did spy on me for a while but that isn't a viable reason. Speaking of which for how long were you watching me?'' Alex raised an eyebrow.
''Since you left the library.'' She gave a nervous smile and blushed a bit'' Wait aren't you at least curious as to why I'm here?''
''Not really. If I were to guess your sister probably sent you to check if something bad has happened.'' Continued Alex.
''How did you know?'' Luna was a bit surprised.
''I am fully aware of what I am and what I can do Luna. It was a logical course of action.'' He explained.
''I see, but why hadn't you told anypony about your ability?'' She asked.
''*sigh* I just got this power, it's entirely new and I wanted to test it out of sight and out of mind.'' Alex was getting rather tired having to explain.
''I understand. What happens now, I don't suppose you will let me tell anypony what happened here?'' Her mind was going in a very dark place as she said that.
''You can tell your sister if you want but I would really appreciate if you keep this between the two of you for now.'' Alex couldn't really do anything to stop her, not in a peaceful way at least, so he decided on a compromise.
''But why? I'm sure Rainbow Dash would really love to see your new power.'' She asked cheerfully.
Alex sighed again.''That's one of the reasons why I don't want this secret out yet, the other would be that this power is new and my body needs time to adjust to it so I can access it instantly and without pain.'' He explained.
''I see, but how did you get it? I mean, I'm guessing you don't get new powers on a daily basis.'' She said.
''Must be something I 'ate'. No, you're right, but the virus was already working when I woke up in the forest, it would have taken a few days normally but when I got hit by magical attacks they acted as a catalyst and speed up the process.'' Alex said recalling his little brawl with royalty.
Luna felt there was a hidden meaning in what he said but decided not to press on. It was getting late and she thought Alex should rest. But before she could leave Alex asked:
''Before you go. Has your sister finished setting up a meeting?''
''Yes, tomorrow at noon in the town square, don't worry about telling Twilight, my sister will send her a letter.''
''Hmm. I guess I will see you and your sister then. Goodnight Luna.''
''Goodnight Alex. See you tomorrow.''
Alex waved and started walking towards the library. The princess of the night disappeared in a ball of blue light and arrived in her bedroom and crashed in the bed, the excitement of seeing Alex's new power first hand(hoof?) and the boredom of doing paperwork earlier that day took it's toll and she fell asleep.
As Alex reached the library he took a moment to enjoy a cool breeze and revel in the peaceful night. He jumped trough the open window without a sound, he looked around and was satisfied: everything was still silent. He entered his room and closed the door. He got in bed and fell asleep, it was easy since the virus had finished mutating. After 25 days of constant fighting and 'dying' three times he needed a break, he didn't need to sleep but it felt natural and he actually relaxed. It was going to be an interesting day

It was early in the morning and Mayor Mare had just woken up. Her work with the letters and planing out the meeting for today had taken it's toll. She proceeded with her morning routine and after she was done she went and sent the letter via pegasus-courier the fastest way to spread the word. By noon everypony in Ponyville and some residents from Cloudsdale would be meeting Alex. After finishing her duties Mayor Mare simply waited anxiously to meet this new creature. A mint green unicorn in particular was very excited about the whole thing. She had been forced to stay indoors by her roommate and was forced to comply, but now she would get to see it first hoof.
In Canterlot Palace after waking up, princess Luna met her sister in the throne room and began explaining last night's encounter. Celestia was a bit surprised of what she was hearing, it would seem Alex still had a lot of surprises up his sleeve. The schedule for that day was already made up, a few royal duties before the meeting and the rest of the day off. The royal sisters went and prepared for departure after finishing their work and sending a letter to Twilight about their arrival.l.

Twilight had woken up at about 10:00 am, her sleep was very peaceful considering all the things that had happened the day before. Memories slowly came back to her as she got out of bed. She was strangely alright with Alex living under the same roof as her, he didn't seem so bad even if he was different. She passed the guest room and peeked inside slowly so she wouldn't wake him. Satisfied with checking up on him she went down stairs and made breakfast.
In her bedroom sleeping peacefully in a basket, laid a small purple dragon. He belched in his sleep a scroll materializing and waking the dragon up. He tiredly got up and picked up the scroll, he yawned and looked around for Twilight, noticing she wasn't in her bed the dragon went downstairs searching for the unicorn. He spotted her in the kitchen and proceeded to giving her the letter. She was a bit surprised and after reading it she began to panic slightly. The purple dragon took notice and tried to talk some sense into her. She calmed down and said:
''Thank you Spike I may have freaked out a bit, but I think I have enough time. Oh I just can't wait to see the princess again.''
''Right I'm gonna go back to sleep I'm not really hungry, just make sure you don't burn anything ok?''
''Alright Spike, do you want to come to the meeting with us?''
''No I think I will just sleep, I'm really tired.''
''Ok I'll tell you how it went.''
Spike went back to his basket and was out like a light. In the mean time at around 10:30 Alex woke up feeling a lot better than he usually did. He glanced at the clock on the wall and went to the bathroom to sober up. He went downstairs and the smell of flowers and jam reached his nose. He walked in the kitchen and saw the purple unicorn with an apron and warm smile on her face.
''Morning.''
''Oh Good morning Alex, did you sleep well?''
''Yes.''
''Would you like some breakfast?''
''Its kind of late for breakfast, but sure.''
''Wonderful what will you have?''
''I'm not really hungry but some tea would be great.''
''Oh alright I'll make some right away.''
She placed a kettle full of water on the stove and after fixing herself a daisy sandwich she sat the table and said.
''Alex I received a letter from the princess saying that the public meeting is arranged and will be held at noon.''
''Sounds good, anything you'd like to know?''
''Well now that you mentioned it, was it really necessary to insult the guards and the princess yesterday?''
Alex chuckled. '' Actually, yes because I was serious in everything I said, the armor was indeed worthless.''
''Really?''
''Yes its just for appearance, no damage resistance, it hinders movement and looks horrible.''
''And how do you know so much?''
''It's in my area of expertise. And that gives me an idea.''
As if on cue the kettle whistled when the runner finished his sentence. Twilight picked it up along with two rather small teacups and some teabags. Before sipping Alex continued.
''If you could bring me some quills and paper I can get some blueprints done before we have to go to the meeting.''
''I see, but blueprints for what, and I don't mean to offend but why would you want to help?''
''None taken. I want to make some armor blueprints for two reasons.''
''Which are?''
''One the design irritates me and is horrible to look at and two to get your princesses to hurry up and find a way to get me home.''
''I understand but don't you like this world? I know you're not used to it but it seems like a better alternative than your world.''
''This world is nice and peaceful yes, but it's not my world. I have to make sure my sister is alright and while Black-watch considers me dead I need to make sure to remove someone from existence if he proves to be a threat.''
''W-who?''
''PARIAH. I don't know if he is still alive or if he is good or not but I'm not wiling to chance it, not at the expense of my sister's safety.''
''I...understand I will get the quills and papers, I'll lay them on the table.''
''Thank you, I will be there as soon as I finish.''
Twilight nodded and went to retrieve said materials. She had laid everything on the table and went to her room to make herself presentable for the princess. Alex finished his tea and got to work on the blueprints, he had time to kill.

The news about the public meeting were spreading fast. Many of the townsfolk were already gathered at the town hall, waiting for the meeting to start. Upon receiving their letters, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Fluttershy were already anxiously waiting for Twilight and their new friend. Many of the ponies there were talking amongst themselves as to what this new creature was and various other trivialities.
Alex had just finished the schematics and made sure not to miss any important details, with 25 minutes to spare before the meeting started. Twilight just finished making herself as presentable as possible and trotted downstairs. She saw Alex leaning on the couch waiting for her to finish. On the table stacked neatly were about 20 papers with diagrams and writing on both sides. Twilight approached the runner and asked.
''You are already finished?''
''Yes, you can go ahead and read them.''
Twilight levitated the stack of papers and spread them with magic on the table. Ten minutes later her jaw was still hanging from what she was reading. It was extremely advanced even if they were just for a full set of body armor. It was a step-by-step guide, but the end result was a flawless armor with few if no weak spots, appealing, lightweight, durable and it didn't hinder movement. Alex looked at her and smirked.
''I take it you like my little design?'' He asked full of pride.
''I...Its incredible to say the least, h-how did you... And in such a short time!'' She was at a lost for words.
''I'm good at what I do, I simply adapted some advanced medieval armor to pony anatomy and improved it. If I were to say this is about 300 years more advanced than what those guards were wearing.'' Upon further thought Twilight realized he was probably right, it would have taken that amount time if not more. ''If you're done Twilight I think we should go, we got about twelve minutes before the meeting starts.'' The runner stated.
Twilight picked up her jaw and re-stacked the papers placing them in her saddlebag. She and Alex headed towards the door. As they exited a familiar figure had a sly smile on his face, headed towards them.

High among the clouds. In peaceful neighborhood, inside a house on the edge of Cloudsdale a light-brown pegasus was snoring happily, after a mental revelation that night he fell asleep like a rock.
*Knock. Knock.*
It would seem his blissful slumber was to be interrupted once more. Five minutes worth on knocking later Zephyr found himself rolling off the bed hitting the cloud floor with a *thud* and groaning at the sudden influx of pain. Slowly getting to his feet he managed to get downstairs in relative safety, aside from tumbling down the stairs by accident. The little accident managed to wake him up enough to reach the door.
''Alright. Alright I'm *yawn* coming.'' He said half-asleep. He opened the door and was greeted by a gray mail-mare with unfocused eyes, yellow mane and tail and an impatient look.
''Oh mornin' Derpy, Sorry for keeping you waiting, I had a restless night.'' Zephyr smiles sheepishly and Derpy's face changes to one of understanding.
''Oh it's alright yours is the last house anyway. Well here is your mail. I have to go the public meeting see you there.'' Before Zephyr could reply she was already gone. He yawned once more and opened the envelope. His eyes shot open as he re-read the letter once more.
''Crap!'' Was the only thing he said as he went back inside. He did his morning routine in a haste and took a look at the watch, 11:45 AM. He jumped out a nearby window and flew towards the library. 'If I don't catch him before the meeting my chance of getting the whole story are zero.' He thought as he picked up speed, praying it wasn't too late. He arrived quickly and much to his surprise saw the library door open. Alex and Twilight now making their way to the meeting. He took a deep breath and headed towards them.

''The town center is this way, we should reach it just in time.'' Twilight stated. Zephyr landed in front of them and said.
''Remember*pant* what you promised?'' He said while catching his breath.
'And the day started out so nicely.' The runner sighed. ''Twilight go ahead, I will deal with Zephyr over there.''
''Are you sure? I can stay and help you if you want?'' Twilight offered even though she didn't want to be late.
''Yes. Just tell them why I might arrive late.'' Alex replied.
''Oh alright then. See you there.'' She reluctantly left and galloped towards the meeting.
As Twilight got out of earshot Zephyr decided to speak. ''Now I would like you to keep your promise and tell me what happened.'' He said bluntly.
Alex raised an eyebrow. ''Kid can't you wait till after the meeting?'' Alex asked in an unamused tone.
''N-no, not until you tell me how you managed to defeat the princess without having so much as a scratch.'' Zephyr tried to sound firm but his voice was clearly shaking.
In the town center very large groups of ponies had gathered. Pegasi had many rows of clouds as makeshift stools while earth-ponies and unicorns cramped together to make sure they had a good view. Celestia and Luna were on the stage patiently waiting for the runner. Less than 10 minutes before the meeting started a purple figure came into view. Twilight Sparkle approached her friends and explained why he might be late. There were a few looks of concerns but they didn't thought it as a problem. The crowd however was getting restless.
One block away from the meeting point, Zephyr was still trying to get the runner to talk, it was a loosing battle. Alex however was getting annoyed, he needed to attend a rather important meeting and this pegasus just wouldn't lay off.
'My GOD do you ever shut up?' It was getting irritating, it wasn't even a conversation anymore, just bickering after trying to explain how it would take several hours to give him the whole story.
''You should stop talking. I don't have time to give the whole story so be patient and wait for the meeting to be over.'' Alex said in a calm collected tone. The sounds of multiple ponies could be heard from further down the path, Alex proceeded towards the location, Zephyr prompted himself between Alex and the path.
''No.'' Was the only thing he said while he stood his ground.
Alex smiled 'Brave kid, I'll give him that but I don't have time for this.' Alex saw the top of the town hall but Zephyr wouldn't bulge. He couldn't show his shape-shifting powers but physical abilities were a different story. He looked to his right and saw an average two story house.
''See you after the meeting kid.'' Alex said.
''What do y...Holly chesses!'' Zephyr shouted as Alex effortlessly jumped on the building and ran across the roof. Zephyr managed to get over the shock and went to the sky after him.
Alex saw the ponies gathered in the distance, but he was more interested in getting on top of the town hall to get a better view. Zephyr was in awe as he watched Alex parkour from roof to roof his destination a bit uncertain, but kept pursuit just as well.
Back at the meeting place.
''Consarn it where is he? This crowd is getting restless.'' Applejack herself getting a little worried.
''Calm down Applejack I'm sure he will arrive so...'' Twilight was cut of by a pony shouting.
''UP THERE ON THE ROOFS!'' Somepony shouted at the top of his lungs pointing to the roofs at the far right side of the town center. All heads. including those of the princesses looked in the direction he was pointing at, and what they saw caused a chain reaction of jaws dropping. Alex was jumping from roof to roof with Zephyr hot on his trail. It wasn't just how high he was jumping it was also the way he was jumping, the aerial tricks he did every time he jumped looked like it was second nature to him.
He was reaching the last house, only the town hall remaining, the building at least fifty feet away and about five story high. Zephyr was glad, he though Alex would finally stop and answer his questions. But as the runner reached the final roof he just focused and jumped. Everypony froze, jaws fell down even further as Alex made the impossible leap and reached the roof without problem. Luckily for Zephyr the chase gave him enough adrenaline to snap him out of his trance and pursue the runner on top of the roof.
Alex steadied himself on the pole while taking in his surroundings, not really bothering to acknowledge the gawking ponies. As Zephyr was making his way towards him, Alex jumped down a level and onto the rounded roof, Zephyr followed suit as Alex began walking towards the edge.

In the Everfree Forest.
At around noon on the path to Ponyville a deep-blue coated earth pony with white mane and tail was returning from one of her usual adventurous trips. She had a light blue stripe trough her mane and tail, her cutiemark was a stone with a horseshoe in it symbolizing her love for adventure. She was supposed to head back home in the small town but something that happened yesterday caught her interest and she just had to explore. Not everyday does a giant piece of land fall from the sky and she just had to satisfy her curiosity.
She knew the forest was dangerous but through her many visits she never did run into something too dangerous. Of course she never went that deep into the forest but it was too good an opportunity to pass up. She entered the forest and trotted towards her destination, it was eerie going so deep but her excitement tuned out everything else. The path was dense and the progress was slow but after what seemed like hours she had finally reached her destination. She was gawking at the sight before her, most ponies would be very scared at how the trees have been uprooted or bended. What she saw fascinated her, the way metal bended and combined with concrete only fueled her desire to examine the site. She started right a way with a bounce to her step, all previous fatigue from getting there disappeared and was replaced with anxiousness.

Zephyr landed on the roof and trotted towards the runner who had turned his attention towards him. He paused for a moment trying to find his courage.
''Okay n-now I know for sure something is up. I mean your speed, your agility, that freaky thing you do with your eyes. I mean I uh... What are you?'' He said doing his best to stay calm.
Alex smiled '' Stick around and I might tell you, if not, then just ask Sparkle.''
With that he turned around and jumped of the edge. Everypony went wide-eye when he jumped as if their hearts was about to stop. One pony in particular, mint green unicorn to be exact had her gaze fixed on the runner. Gravity seemed to speed his descent the whole trip lasting but a few seconds. Everypony was expecting something horrible to happen but the runner just landed with a soft thud, he got up and dusted himself off. As he saw the look on everypony's face he smiled once more. Had it not been for the royal presence attending the ordeal of what happened when he first came to town would have been repeated. But even so, they still looked shocked, Alex understood why they were in such a state and just decided to examine the residents. Well he was about to but he got tackle hugged by cyan blur, it managed to push him a few feet. It was a bit unexpected but Alex returned the hug.
''Hey Dash, I'm not late am I?''
That broke Rainbow out of her trance and she looked up with her big magenta eyes that had a spark of admiration it them.''THAT.WAS.AWESOME.'' She said completely ignoring the looks she was receiving.
''Then I guess I'm right on time.''Alex smiled.
''Huh oh yeah. But nevermind that! We definitely need to have a race after this.''She said full of confidence.
''Sure, but Rainbow?'' She looked up at him ''You might want to let go everyo...pony is staring.'' Her cheeks went red and quickly let go. Alex stifled a laugh, and the tension was slowly beginning to lift. Celestia walked in front of the mic stand that was set up on stage and spoke.
''Citizens of Ponyville and Cloudsdale you have been summoned here today in regard of recent events which took place in the Everfree forest, that and as I'm sure you already know the appearance of a special visitor.''Celestia stated.''I have come here to inform you that there is no need for panic and that he is indeed friendly, I am aware you would like to ask him questions but first I would like to tell you how he ended up in our fair land''
Everypony listened intently as Celetia briefed them on yesterdays events. Of course she left out all the important details, like his special powers, the little brawl she had with him and so on. She explained how he came here by accident and her decision in trying to help him go back. Zephyr was listening from on top of the roof and immediately noticed the inconsistencies but decided against voicing them. The princess continued her story and explained how Alex is different even from his own kind, explaining his augmented physical powers. She at one point even mentioned how he defeated a hydra singlehandedly which got gasps of shock from everypony. It was necessary since they would find out sooner or later. Alex simply listened throughout the story until he was called to answer some questions. The princess steps out of the way and Alex takes his place behind the mic, a short introduction later and the runner spoke.
''Now those interested in asking questions please raise your uh...hoof.'' Alex said as a multitude of hooves suddenly reached the air. Ales simply decided to pick at random.
''You.'' Alex pointed at a brown stalion.
''Did you really come with that piece of land that fell in the Everfree?''
''Yes. And I'm guessing you want to know how I survived, as the princess said I'm different from the rest of my kin, what would usually be too much for a human is barely a strain for me.'' As he finished many hooves went to the air once more. ''Very well you.'' He pointed at a random mare from the crowd.
''What do humans eat?''
''Humans are omnivores, meaning we can eat both plant and meat, and before you ask it's more of a choice, meat not being an essential part in our survival. And no I do not eat ponies.'' Another hoof down.''Alright you.''He pointed at a gray pegasus mare with blond mane and tail and unfocused eyes.
''Do you like muffins?''
''Err...sure?''Alex shook it off.''Ok, you.'' He picked a random stallion.
''What are you going to do while you are here?''
''Hmm I guess I will simply help around town while I wait for a way to go back home.''
''Let's see...you'' He pointed at a mint green unicorn that was probably too excited.
''What does it feel like to have hands?''
'Another weird one great...' Alex sighed but non the less answered. '' Good, I guess, their useful for holding things.'' He looked trough the crowd. ''You.'' Alex pointed at another mare.
''Do humans have cutie-marks?''
Alex though a moment as he would have to explain the whole concept. ''No. And before you ask, it is simply how things work in my world, the lack of magic is also an important factor, besides the human race evolved in such a way as to adapt to anything and everything, a human can have more than one talent and can use it at the same skill level as his other talents.''
''But what are your special talents then?''
''Hmm good question. I am a scientist actually, was head of an important project on my world, and I know quite a lot about medicine, aside from that I am a very skilled fighter due to the fact that I am a soldier of sorts and I have knowledge of many foreign languages. Thats all can think of for now.''
The conversation went on for a while most of the questions were general but some were downright ridiculous. While this went on backstage Twilight called for the princesses to show them the blueprints Alex made.
''Yes my faithful student do you need help with something?'' Celestia asked in her usual motherly tone.
''Oh no princess I'm quite fine but I do have something very important to show you.''
''And what is that young Sparkle?'' Luna asked.
''I'm sure you recall Alex's little comment regarding the royal guards armor yes?'' The princesses frowned but nodded. ''Earlier today Alex made some blueprints for a full set of body armor made for ponies.''
''I appreciate the gesture Twilight but you see that type of armor was to be changed by the end of the year as our top researchers have been working on an improved version so I do not believe it will be necessary.'' Celestia said.
''I agree sister although I am curious as to what he could have done in such short time, as well as not to be rude.'' Luna added. Celestia smiled and Twilight picked up the papers from her saddlebag and hoofed them over to the princesses.
30 min later.
The princesses were going over the papers again and again still in disbelief as to what they were reading. Their top researchers have been working on a better type of armor for the past fifty years and yet what Alex made was a hundred years more advanced than anything they ever saw. The princesses seemed to snap out of their trance as the meeting ended, they called for Alex backstage as everypony went back to their usual business. Except for a particular mint green unicorn, a light-brown pegasus, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. Alex reached the princesses and noticed them intently looking at his work.
''You called?''
''Indeed, Alex I wish to know how did you manage to make these?''Celestia asked pointing at the papers that were currently floating in mid-air.
''Easily enough, I would have made some for weapons but I doubt your kind needs them.'' The princesses nodded.'' And just so you know that crap you use for your regular armor isn't going to work on this one.''
''How so? And please refrain from using such foul language.'' Celestia said.
''Very well. As you can see the armor is very advanced but it comes with a major downside, its extremely heavy if it isn't made very thin, it can sacrifice speed and agility for protection but that is not a wise choice. This armor is to be made lightweight and durable or else its rather useless so strong metal is needed.''
''That may be a problem as we do not posses metals that strong.'' Luna added.
''Luckily for you I might have a solution to your problem. I'm sure you remember the giant piece of land that fell from the sky.'' They nodded.'' I haven't really paid attention but it seems that anything that wasn't resistant enough got destroyed by the anomaly, meaning that most of what is left t the crash site is just metal, in particular the reinforced titanium doors that couldn't have landed far from the impact location.''
''I see and this reinforced titanium is strong enough?'' Celestia asked.
''It's not stronger than my armor but its definitely stronger than anything you will have for a few millenia.'' Alex smiled. ''You might want to get a team to wait near the forest's edge when I bring it in.''
''I suppose you don't know how heavy it is? And I do not mean to offend but why are you helping us?'' Celestia asked as politely as possible.
''A few tons, nothing I can't handle, and I want you to consider it an early parting gift, for when you have found a way to send me back.''
''I understand, a team of unicorns will be waiting at the edge ready to pick it up. Now I shall take this back to castle Canterlot so that they will know what to do. Sister do you wish to leave as well?''
''No Tia, as I said yesterday I'm heading for the spa.'' Luna said rather serious.
Celestia giggled ''Very well little sister I shall await your return.'' With that Celestia teleported away, leaving her sister that also took her leave and headed for the spa.
Zephyr and Lyra were patiently waiting for them to finish not really bothering to acknowledge each other and Rainbow Dash was intently listening from a nearby cloud. Twilight was quiet during the entire conversation Rainbow however was trying to convince Alex to let her come with him as soon as the princesses left, which he continued to refuse. As they left they saw Zephyr and Lyra waiting for them. Zephyr had an impatient look on his face and Lyra had an impossible smile. They approached the two almost bumping into them.
''I'm sorry Rainbow but the answer is still no. Well hello Zephyr I see you stuck around.'' Alex smirked.''And who are you miss?''
''Oh my name is Lyra.''
''Nice to meet you Lyra, now what can I do for you?''
''You can start by finally telling me what really happened with you and the princess.''
''Oh I just want to know more about your people really.'' Lyra said completely ignoring Zephyr.
''I see, I'm sure Twilight can help you with that as I'm rather busy at the moment, Twilight would you kindly help miss Lyra while I'm away?''
''I guess I can, come on Lyra we'll talk at the library.''
''Ok bye Alex.'' Lyra waved as they left and Alex gave a small wave in return.
''So you're finally going to tell me what happened?'' Zephyr asked as he cocked an eyebrow.
''I have a better idea. Rainbow?'' Alex called.
''Huh? What?''
''I was wondering if you could keep Mr. Zephyr here occupied while I take care of business. And by that I mean enlightening him about what happened with me and the princess as he already knows the truth.''
''What? No way, you're going alone in the forest and you expect me to just sit here and talk to this guy?''
''Yes and just so you know I appreciate it.'' Alex said as he reached inside his jacket.'' You can have this as a trophy.'' He pulled out the hydra fang he had taken and given it to Rainbow.
''Well I guess this makes up for it a little but you still owe me. You, Zephyr right? We need to talk.'' Rainbow started dragging Zephyr away much to his protest but there was no escaping her grip.
Alex laughed a bit but his face turned to serious for the task at hand, and began sprinting towards his destination.
