Celestia has long since forgotten how to be anything other than the sun princess. There was a time she was a beloved sister, a loving aunt... a different mare.

When did she lose that mare?

Sequel to A Letter Long Overdue. I plan for there to be another piece to this story, possibly a multi-chapter fic.

Short story. Fed up with the mocking and insults of being weak like his aunt, Blueblood decides to kill the one who is giving his "reputation" a bad name: Celestia. Will the Princess actually do the unthinkable?

Take place after "Rainbow Rocks Remake".

Ever since her encounters with the Plunderseeds and Lord Tirek, Twilight had been left with emotional scars from both events and Celestia offers her words of wisdom to help overcome them.

During the first week of Autumn, Luna and Celestia journey to a shrine far above Canterlot. They go to pay their respects and remember the one pony that surpassed even they, the one who saved the world long before the royal sisters ever could.

Most of all, they go to remember the one mare they loved more than each other.

Orphaned as a filly, a young pegasus named Kaviyayu is raised by an adoptive Earth pony family in a secluded, peaceful village. When a strange unicorn drops by the village, Kaviyayu and the other foals are captivated by her tales of the world, as well as her various spells and illusions for their amusement. But there's something about the way she doesn't speak of her own family... how she never removes her traveller's cloak... how she seems to take a very strong interest in Kaviyayu...

Who is this mysterious mare, what does she seek, and just what is so special about that pendant she wears?

This is the tale of how a seemingly ordinary filly rose to become both a princess and a beacon of love to ponies all over Equestria. Based on the back-story of Princess Cadance, as given by G. M. Berrow's pony novella, Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell. Also loosely inspired by symphonic metal band Nightwish's sixth studio album, Dark Passion Play.

With the defeat of Tirek and all of Equestria once again saved, life seems to return to normal. However, despite her best efforts, Princess Celestia has come under intense scrutiny for her decision to trust Discord into capturing Tirek before they go on a mad spree and deviatate the land. Now locked away in her room, she feels all the guilt of her failure as a ruler come back to haunt her. These doubts though are about to be corrected however by the same three alicorn princesses that she feels she had failed the most.
