Town weather ponies are tired of receiving complaints, and frustrated by the lack of answers from higher up. Rumours circulate that a mysterious monster—a polar vortex—has seized control of the North and threatens Equestria. They get passed from office to office, as each branch of the Weather Factory denies responsibility, as they pursue their quest to understand the mechanisms controlling the Equestrian climate.

Gallus is having a sort of identity crisis. Not having a family has made him wonder where he came from, and being at The School Of Friendship has made him conflicted about where exactly home is for him. Silverstream knocks on his door and they talk.

Found abandoned as a baby, Scylla was an odd child to the pony who found her. Born a kelpie, it was believed that she would grow up with a personality that was unfit in the society she was raised in. Through the love of her adopted father though, the girl assumed to be monster among pony-kind turned into a girl adored by all that knew her, with all the charm and grace of any filly of her age.
