When drastic measures have to be taken to save Equestria from a resurging villain, Twilight and her friends sacrifice themselves for the needs of the many.

Luckily, when you're friends with a powerful unicorn neurotically obsessed with checklists, scheduling, and planning ahead, death is but a minor inconvenience.

Now they just need something to do until Twilight can sort out a few minor issues.

All is peaceful in locked-down Canterlot. Just a question of waiting for Commander Tempest to get back.

Not that the Storm Guard know the plan, of course. They just follow orders, trusting that the King knows best.

While following these orders and keeping an eye on everything, two Storm Guard have a conversation, just to pass the time.

The stars are vanishing from Equestria. It's not so bad.

Luna and Sunset talk on the roof of Canterlot High School.

Sunset has no desire to kill herself; what concerns Luna is that that isn't the same as wanting to be alive. In fact, it's not even close.

This is about a specific kind of deep depression: the kind where you don't particularly want to live. At one point Sunset talks about possible ways she could die, and how none of them would bother her. So if you're not up for reading things suicide related and suicide adjacent, steer clear.

Now that I've spoiled almost every aspect of the story, let me ruin the rest. I didn't tag this as "Sad" because I don't think it's sad. It's definitely heavy, but that's not the same thing.

You might disagree about whether it's sad, though, so take that into account when deciding whether or not you want to read it. If you do read, and you think it should be tagged as "Sad", please tell me in the comments. (The last thing I want to do is bring people down when they're not prepared for it.)

When Princess Twilight Sparkle first appeared on the lawn of Jacob and Mary Klein, many people knew that things would never be the same for both Equestria and Earth.

Still magic, technology, and cultural exchange will transform the two worlds in ways no one could've expected, bringing new wonders and new terrors along the way.

The future is scary, but also very hopeful.

One thing's for sure: humans and Equestrians will be in for the ride of their lives.

There isn't going to be an overarching story arc. Just various vignettes exploring how both Equestria and Earth would influence each other.

Celestia and Luna are back from their vacation. Now that retirement is fast approaching, Celestia's a little antsy about what to do with her free time. When she looks back at all the memories she had, she suddenly gets an idea. Maybe she should try out something she did before, something she thought she hated the first time around....

Luna's not going to like it.
