<- this horse is gay and there's nothing you can do about it

Once upon a time, a Princess was alone in her crystal palace, and she sang to the wind in her sorrow. But when the wind is a Windigo, the wind sings back.

Very intriguing. I'd say keep it up! Though, you might have to rework these short chapters a bit. Unfortunately, I'm no literary expert so I can't really tell how other than making them longer :applejackunsure:

I didn't really want long chapters. I want it to have a kind of... innocence, inspired via children's-book chapter length. It's to be basically the direct opposite of A Fear of the Dark, which it may or may not tie into.

So, is Crystal Heart Cadence's ancestor and Shadow Sombra's?

In response to my previous comment, or maybe Crystal Heart IS Cadence and Shadow IS Sombra. Only time will tell.

And so the true drama begins.

I feel warmth inside. He commented idly to himself. I hope I haven't caught her lonely.

That line made me d'aww.

This was very pleasing to read. Thank you.

Welp, can't wait for that sequel! :pinkiehappy:

The sequel is already done, I just didn't have time to link it! I released it a long time ago. It's here!

Author Interviewer

This was a very original and interesting story. :) I'm looking forward to reading that sequel.

Before I read this, does it end in sadness? I turn into a depressed loveless husk when I'm saddened, just say yes or no for the sake of spoilers

I've had this in my 'read later' list for ages. I had forgotten about it until the interview post. I'm glad I read it, now.

drama baby, one more time. 'clash'

tly. Please, you can't be going."

the point he changed.

The voice that you've written this in, is so quiet and the your style is beautiful. I'm hooked already

ohhh. will this end in the heartbreak and death for an entire species? :(

It reminded me of a very old myth. She saved her people, her sister and the windigoes at the cost of herself.

Short and (bitter)sweet. :fluttercry: Very good.

On to the sequel!

I find that the chapters are actually great and the length adds something –something good– that I can't explain. Also I love how the story is progressing !

i feel like this is an origin to Sombra and Cadance...which is far from a bad thing to me :3

Well, shit. You managed to tell an entire story in a word count less than one of my chapters. Bravo. :moustache:

This was really interesting. I love the folk tale-like tone you used.
