nice story can't wait for more chapters to come out soon lol:heart:

"One hope is better than no hope," sang Silverstream, bouncing a little in place. "Please!"

Good attitude.:ajsmug:

Silverstream blinked with wide eyes at that. "Woah. You must be so confused. If I woke up and I was a boy instead of a girl, I'd—I don't know what I'd do! I'm a girl, and so are you."

That's, uh... "Whoa".
Also, that kinda rhymes; confused, do and you.

The question caught her off guard, and Aaron paused. "Glad. I'm really glad. There were a lot of problems I have with who I was. This will make things so much better." Aaron flexed their new talons slowly, watching them with some amazement. "I can move. I can talk. You tell me things and I actually remember them a moment later, not hidden in a veil of pain."

It's the closest you're gonna get to Tabula Rasa.

Aaron leaned in close to inspect it. It was a rich stew of thick cuts of meat—lamb or beef—along with a mixture of vegetables floating among them, with an airy loaf of bread to one side. A simple meal, but to one who had been dying, it looked like a feast. They remembered to use the utensils, picking up the knife and fork, cutting with a careful motion.

The savory, tender flesh of the meat slid down her throat without too much chewing, each bite better than the last, the brothy, salty broth tickling her tongue even between bites of bread. They ate the entire thing, leaving nothing but a clean plate behind, feeling far better when it was over.

Isn't calling the broth brothy kind of redundant? :unsuresweetie:
Suggestion: Perhaps a "rich, salty broth"?

But they had no practice. They fell with style, their wings flapping awkwardly in an attempt to catch them, but they did come down roughly, landing hard on the ground below.

Nice fall; need to work on that landing. :fluttershyouch:

"Good." Slilverstream swam a little closer. "So, what's your name? Feel like sharing now?"

Picking a new name would be a toughie.

Let's see: Aaron (from the Hebrew word Aharon)... It can be interpreted as Exalted, Strong, Teacher or Mountain of Strength, apparently. Maybe work that in, somehow?

Oh love how they’re not a pony.

Fixed! Welcome to the story.

Not every human has to end up a neighsayer.

Welcome to a new story. Let's walk together and enjoy the sights.

Looking forward to reading more of it.

Personally, I'm working on a relatively new story too. I may have to change the title, though, since the cast is about to expand.

TCutie Mark Crusaders: Heroes from the Stars
When gigantic monsters begin attacking Equestria, the Cutie Mark Crusaders (and others) meet some unexpected allies.

"Welcome to our home." Silverstream waved wildly over the large hallway that was Queen Novo's throne room in Mount Aris. "Your home not too, come to think. I hope you'll like it! I also hope you don't mind my saying you're a pretty hippogriff mare." She grinned broadly, tail flicking to the side.

There felt like no avoiding it. "My new name is Ariel. I was Aaron."

A nice pick. To quote from mamanarural.com on the name...

In Hebrew, Ariel means 'lion of god'. This gives the name a strong, powerful connotation, evoking the image of a fierce, majestic lion. The name can also be interpreted as 'altar of god' or 'hearth of god', giving it a more gentle and nurturing connotation.

Silverstream led Ariel to that warm bed and the two settled. With a whistle, the lights went out. In what felt like an instant,

Well, easier than clapping. :ajsmug:

"That's just one thing!" Silverstream stepped onto the train, drawing Ariel along to share seats on a bench. "I get a little overwhelmed sometimes. I want to learn, but I don't, um, always. Not the same way as others, that is."

Well, to quote Einstein,

Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

Before them stood a Blue unicorn. "I hope you had a lovely train ride. Welcome to Ponyville station." Her eyes were on Ariel specifically, though they did dart towards Silver. "Who's your friend? I don't think I've seen her before."

Ariel pulled out that letter and handed it to the strange unicorn, who unfolded it, glowing with their magic. "I see. Silver, you know I'm to be called Headmare Twilight."

Wait, what? :rainbowhuh:

Silverstream clapped at that idea. "Yay! I can show you around. See, they have lunch around this time. We can visit the cafeteria! Then there's the dorms, where we live when we're not going home." She giggled with growing excitement. "This is going to be so fun."

I wonder what would happen if she met Autumn Blaze.

New bodies can sometimes mean visual distortions(fixed).

again, reading without noting the author til the end hello again Silver!

until i find your next work

Not that this one is done. Far from it. We barely got started!

The trick with hippogriffs for magic is finding the pegasus flight mana channels first as the wing body ratio is far greater and so they shouldnt need as much assistance, then depends if the human realises the feathers on the wings look like lots of TV ariels, which only works in certain areas these days because many areas are on cable or fibre only and theres non of the pointy spiky TV ariels left?:twilightoops:

"We smash project." Yona nodded with complete confidence.

Figuratively, I hope? :applejackunsure:

It was all very new. The food here was unlike anything Ariel had eaten before, or even heard of. A kind of baked flatbread covered in sweet honey, creamy cheese, and the pieces of fruit—plums and bananas—with a faint taste of spice. She devoured it with relish, sitting at that table with new friends. It was amazing. She felt her stomach filling, and yet wanted to eat it again.

Fold it and crimp it and you pretty much have a calzone. As long as that's ricotta cheese.

Twilight's smile was gentle, if a bit pained. "Magic is a rare ability in a species that does not inherently possess it. To date, there are only a handful of individuals who can learn magic. Most are unicorns." She pointed up at her horn. "Magic is our tribe's specialization. Hippogriffs, on the other hoof, do have magic. You're wearing yours."

To be fair: How many have tried?

At least one creature is ready to try.

Ariel’s body was created from the necklace, does that make her hippogryph form just as natural as her sea pony form? If so, does that mean she doesn’t need the necklace to transform, or does it mean she loses her body if she doesn’t have her necklace

A fine question. Will Ariel try tossing it away to try it out though?

She will have to be very careful with that transformation crystal. Its extremely close to giving the curse of immortality. :trixieshiftright:

"About that." Starlight sat back in her chair, one ear to the side. "I need to work out a lesson plan, and we need to figure out how well a hippogriff can channel magic through their portion of that orb." She pointed to Ariel's necklace. "I suppose we need to experiment first. If you just can't, we're done."

It should be noted, however, that there are multiple schools of magic. Handily remembered with the acronym ICED TEA.

  • Illusion
  • Conjuration
  • Evocation
  • Divination
  • Transmutation
  • Enchantment
  • Abjuration

I've never encountered that particular mnemonic before, neat!

Well, to be honest, I got it from a very different story.

TThis Game of Mine
Beset by the pressures of her coming-of-age, Sweetie Belle has secretly been turning to video games for relief from her insecurities. But when her unparalleled gaming talent earns her a cutie mark she never asked for, her life is thrown upside-down.
Swan Song · 155k words  ·  1,166  46 · 15k views

Mistake: I thought it was that story, but that's the wrong one. Sorry. Sorry. :facehoof:

In that case, I have no clue which story that was. I just know that Sweetie Belle and Rarity were the main characters, and the center of the scene that brings that up.

Read that one anyway, though.
