A strange white thestral falls into Sweet Apple Acres barely alive. Nopony knows her, and no records of her exists. That is nothing compared to the strange devices that she brought with her from wherever she is from.
That is all Yolina Yvanova will allow them to know. She is aware she shouldn’t be here, and that this body isn’t her real body. What she does know is that some beast saw her dream walking as a danger and nearly killed her. It now bars her way home.

Found this story and it’s an interesting read.
As for your question, writing 2 or 4 chapters head allows for edits/changes to be made before publishing. It also allows for a more consistent schedule encase you don’t feel like writing for that week so you have an extra chapter ready. Monthly or weekly schedules are good.
But writing more spontaneously allows for us as the readers to get more updates quickly for a time until burn out happens and we never see the end.
As long as your happy writing, take your time.

I am going to write a bit ahead afterwards so I can more comfortably work on this and Fallout: Equestria – One Last Mission at the same time. Considering this upcoming chapter the last point before that dark tag actually starts to show itself.
