This is looking interesting so far. Were you inspired by Banshee531's Yugioh series to make this? Even though that series focuses on a different card game it also closely adapted the story of Vanguard G.
I have never seen any Cardfight animes. Is this the series that has the characters become the ones on the cards?

The basic rules are simple enough. For quick rundown. You and the opponent start with a grade zero monster card. Each turn your starting grade zero can go up one grade if you have the correct level in hand. For every level your starting card has, you can summon monsters from your hand the field. So if your starter is grade 3, you can summon 3,2...etc. monsters to the other circles. If it's a grade 2, then only 2,1 and zero can be there.The goal is to do 6 damage to your opponent. If you do, you win. There is a bit more to the rules to get it. But that's more or less it, without talking about different decks. I would highly suggest watching the first episode or 2 of any cardfight series but Vanguard Cardfight IF. Its a good guide on how to play and their YouTube channel.

Well, I hadn't seen Vanguard G until half a year ago, and when I read Banshee531's Yugioh fanfics, I thought it was an original story, but then I saw G and I saw several similarities there.
Banshee531 inspired me to write stories but more than being based on his fanfics, it is based on the first Vanguard series and the 2018 remake.

I had problems choosing the rules to play with, the ones from the original series seemed the best, but after thinking about it, I realized that the triggers only give 5000 power and maximum only have 10000 defense, then I thought about the G rules, but I never fully understood how the G units worked, that's why I didn't choose that format, they would also think that I would be plagiarizing your story, then I didn't understand Legion Mate either, then I thought of the most recent, OverDress, but there I thought it was very easy and OverDress does not have the magic of the other series (it does not mean that I do not like it) so I decided to chose the 2018 format, the one of the first 25 chapters of the remake, because it looks a bit similar to the first series, and the only thing that changes is the power of the triggers and the imaginary gifts.

Well yeah, use to play pretty regularly with my friends and this was one of the few games I could beat them consistently. I would get beaten with little effort a lot in Yugioh and Pokemon. We even entered a tournament for Vanguard. Sadly, we did not have time to be in the whole tournament.

Zero is a mobile version of the game. Has G, Asia Circuit, LJ, the OG, and LM. And all cards from both series. The remake, OG, and G.

But Front triggers and gifts are so fun... I will not say it's balenced. Not when you can summon 6 cards to the front row, vs a deck that can attack with 2 damage before doing checks every turn. Wait, what about order cards? They are pretty fair.

Order cards and Blitz Order card are the spell cards and traps cards for any deck in the game. They came around the time overdress started. But there was like 3-5 of them at most, until overdress started making more.
Alright before I'm gonna get into this fic, lemme jsut say I stopped at Legion Era and only know minimal knowledge of G. Don't know anything about the reboots, so hopefully this either teaches you how to play current VG or plays using the old rules.

Thank you very much, YuGiOh EQG was the story that inspired me to write my fanfics.
Having seen the first few episodes of the remake, I prefer the OG rules. Which you used in the game from the quick match you showed us. And again, if you ever want a new character and deck, just ask, cause I mostly use Shadow Paladin, Kagero, Gold Paladin, and Link Joker. So if you ever want a deck from there, that’s decent, just ask and I’ll tell you the triggers, cards, amount of them, and which section of the series it would make sense.
And for my second question…
Does this take part after the LJ (Link Joker) storyline in the series, or does it take place in the first season?

And regarding your second question, well, this is an original story, and this one in particular is based on the first arc of the remake and the first chapters of the original series, but the following sequels will be based on Link Joker, that season will she had everything to be the best, the concept of the student council against the club is a very good one, too bad that more of that was not explored.

As much as I hope Flash beats Garble though, and how it looks like the odds are in his favor, I have a bad feeling Garble is somehow going to make a comeback so Spike will be the one to beat him later.
You could have this story lead to Spike becoming champion. That is just a suggestion.

Before things got crazy in the anime, it was slice of life.
That cheater! I should have expected that was the only way Garble could possibly win. That's not a very smart way of doing it though, since it was easily discovered.
So Garble did screwed the rules there.
