“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.” - Patrick Rothfuss

Life is like a tree: constantly growing, stretching many directions.

But the trunk remains the solid center it builds from. A branch may reach the sky, but stays anchored to and part of the tree.

Twilight Sparkle isn't the only one to grow into a new role.

Applejack, you keep forgettin' that you ain't some background pony.

I got such a wide grin reading this. The whole rest of that paragraph, too.

So, my favorite chapters were Applejack's and Rarity's, the former for emotional resonance and the latter for being unique and interesting. Fluttershy's was a bit weak, barely touching on either front.

I feel this would fit into canon very nicely well done.

:moustache: So I pooped on him and I don't even feel bad about it.
:duck: Platinum ? Really Belle Dragon has charm, Fire and claw fashion and style!
:facehoof: . . .

:trollestia: Typical Government

Zecora is the Best Zebra, but her rhyming makes her so hard to write.

Also - a very interesting beginning!

It may be something that everyone could see was coming, but that doesn't make it any less meaningful when it happens.

Also, excellent Spitfire! :rainbowkiss:

Now that's a fine Blueblood - an unapologetic snob and jerkass, but also far from a fool, with a deep sense of tradition and duty. :duck:

Beautiful. Every chapter.

...Though, you might've gotten more views and attention had you released it one chapter at a time over multiple days rather than all at once.

Very good though. Kudos!

Excellent stuff, start to finish!

That was a really good story.

This was a fine bundle of moments. I can definitely see it appealing to people who aren't fond of later canon; the worldbuilding is just too smart to ignore. It brings a lot of familiar fandom areas of curiosity to light again, like politics, history, and seemingly forgotten characters. All of them are put to good use without actually feeling used. I find it odd this is as underrated as it is. There are shockingly few groups this is in too.
