In this story, Sunset Shimmer, the Pony, breaks up with everyone. Because that's the thing you need to have in this entry for this contest. That's right, this is for a contest. Alright? Okay? Yeah. I'm writing it like 2 days before the deadline because who gives a toss. I'm not gonna win. Are you? Maybe you are! Maybe you, the potential winner of this contest, is reading this right now going 'hahah this ass, he's never gonna win', and you know what, you'd be right.
But before this story gets rejected because I didn't add the story summary in the description, let me repeat what happens in this damn story:
Sunset Shimmer breaks up with everyone.
This was very much enjoyable. I was really scared this was going to turn into a random shoutfest. But save for Celestia, who felt rather cynical, it was all very heartfelt and in character. So thank you for writing it. It gave me a much needed smile.
This story had a lot of heart, and it ended up being less comedic than I expected (though the comedy was still executed very well). Still, there was a farcical air to the whole thing that meshed surprisingly well with the drama and serious emotions woven through the story, and made for a unique reading experience.
I'm personally fond of the term "Princessipal."
Oh sure, using equine analogues of your acquainatances to practice breakups is normal, but this is unacceptably bizarre.
"What are you, a changeling?"
"Given how little the author knows about me? Maybe."
It's important to remember that while Maud may be understated, she's still Pinkie's sister.
Brilliant bit of bonding between Sunbutt Sr. and Jr. at the end. For someone scrambling to get a grasp on Sunset's character, I'd say you did quite a good job. Thank you for this, and best of luck in the judging.
It's not fair that you can churn out something like this in like seven hours. There could've stood to be more jokes, and the bit with Applejack and Fluttershy felt like you were kind of zipping through to the Celestia conversation you wanted to write so you could be done, but it works better as a coherent whole than a last minute fic has any right to.
For Twilight, the Universe really is just that simple, though.
Well, except for when she's just chucking children into prison, I guess.

Yeah, I ran out of time. I definitely wanted to do more with AJ and Fluttershy but It was 5 am at that point and I was half dead.
Still, it was fun to write! It is what it is. And we move on the better things.
