Alright, here the rundown (long explanation, shorter one the next paragraph): Spike pretty much curses against Owlicious as she is taking his job from him, and he thinks she is even taking Rarity from him. She even accidentally flashed him once, making Spike think of her as not only a cockblocker but a cocktease. Twilight locks them up in the basement so that they can work things out. Spike tries to ignore her, things quickly get out of hand, making Spike really mad at her. He grabs that naughty bird, bends her over his knee and spanks her. He then shoves her beak down his cock and spanks her some more. Before long Spike notices that Owlicious is enjoying it, leading to some now more consensual albeit forceful/hard sex.
So, it's not too bad in my opinion. In short there is just spanking, and at the beginning it is rape. That's really all there is to it. Well, there is also the whole slut theme going on, if you see that as dark.

For a dark story it isn't really all that dark. The "rape" while still somewhat bad is really more akin to Pseudo rape or roleplay. It has a relatively happy ending more akin to roleplay rather than dark everything ends badly. It is even hot and somewhat happy. I hate rape stories, but the tags and warnings make this out to be worse than it is! It's similar to roleplay and pseudo rape where it starts bad but ends a lot happier.
For that, it's a good story with some grammar and minor issues. Anyone who hates on this for the dark tag alone is silly. Plus there is a very good NSFW picture that is very similar to this story involving Owlowiscious, Angel, and Spike, and it is one of my favorite pet themed pictures and has a few similarities to this story. Mainly the, "it looks bad, but really isn't" thing.

Character A gets jealous as Character B is appearing and getting a lot of attention. I simply used the situation of the episode. And Twilight then putting them together to work things out isn't that unheard of either when it comes to conflict solving.
