This maybe a while ago and a dated conversation, but I want to tell you the truth about why I deleted my comments. It's the lack of positions we had that worried me.
1) I do not represent the Left. I do not represent moderates. I do not represent anyone on the political spectrum. I don't "Team up with leftist or moderates" that's what the other labeled me and I used to take it seriously. Now, I don't consider myself even independent or Bystander because even that perpetuate the false narrative of Left vs Right. I don't give a f**k if they call me anything because it's only an ad hominem. Summar: I do not accept the premise of asswholes.
2) The actual position of SilverStarApple: He can deny as much as he wants to, but he was using a tactic I believe is called 'firehosing' He spreads obvious misinformation at a rapid paste in hopes of winning the argument, and as a result, debunking his claims became nearly impossible as there were a whole house of cards of them. Firehosing is dangerous because the goal isn't to persuade others, its goal is to dominate the public discourse, it is used as a legitimate tactic by trolls, a**wholes, and actual dictators. He also doesn't 'represent' conservatives as he says, people who actually believe what they say don't firehose because firehosing dilutes the value of any belief, especially theirs. There's a difference between ranting, and there's purposely spreading misinformation that will only appeal to confirmation bias. There is no "Public" discourse because the communication is one-sided, it's outright propaganda.
Conclusion: I now make rules about having conversations. If someone's firehosing, call it out. If people are purposely spreading blatant misinformation, use ad hominems, and are purposely be contrarian so they don't have to agree with you, ban them from your discourse. Send them back to whatever 4-chan, sub-reddit, or conspiracy website they come from. I guarantee that there is absolutely nothing immoral about it.
