kudzuhaiku

She's looking at you. Yes you. And she is judging you with her eyes. There is no escape.

This story is a sequel to 'Suckle

Offer no apologies, this was very nice.

That is undeniably sweet. Such a small thing to a child could easily mean the entire world. Instant like and fav from me.

Good job, kid. Ya made yer mama cry.:moustache:

Apologies are wasted on this, for there is no need.

I was dying to know more about Alto Clef, and here it is.
A very heartfelt introduction into his mind, well done, kudz!

The conglomerate of the seventeen literate apes that refers to themselves as the individual entity of 'Kudzuhaiku', or, has produced yet another touching short story.
I eagerly await more.
(there are seventeen syllables in a hiaku, therefore there are seventeen apes, further, one could argue they are of a species that has a love of kudzu vines, sadly I am too lazy to research and find if there is an even a species with that taste, or perhaps these are just of a general collection of apes of different species, or perhaps they are monkeys? primates of some sort, I'm sure. Regardless, it was very touching.)

Now Vinyl just has to get Alto rapping like this guy and Tavi will more than have conniptions.
(jump to 2:.42 is when he finally really lets loose.)

Also When Maud catches Sly, Honeysuckle provides background sound for the stare down!

8052284 I'm this one!:facehoof:

How do I put this delicately, :flutterrage: MOAR

And through music, another harmony is discovered. That was very touching, thank you.:pinkiesad2:

Aaand now I'm shipping these two.

I hope to see more of them, and great story as always :moustache:

Also, reminds me of this:

I know, not a duel in the storie's case, and not violins, but still.

8052284 There are species that like Kudzu sadly they aren't native to Altanta, GA where the vine was imported for some reason that I no longer remember. Now it take constant work to keep the vines from overtaking the city and then some

Kudzu I agree with sentiment NO Apologies needed for this one other than it was over too quickly and felt so very short

8052393 Kudzu was introduced to the United States as an ornamental bush and an effortless and efficient shade producer at the Philadelphia Continental Exposition in 1876. In the 1930s and 1940s, the vine was rebranded as a way for farmers to stop soil erosion. Workers were paid $8 per hour to sow topsoil with the invasive vine (Quote from Wikipedia) - which means it wasn't brought to Atlanta, it was brought throughout the entire South at once.. Sadly, nothing indigineous feeds on it, so it became the massive nasty green blanket that covers much of the south, and only in the past couple decades is being brought under control.

8052540 I was commenting on how it was an issue in Atlanta. That wiki article doesn't surprise me and considering how it grows it would be effective at helping control erosion downside is how fast it grows.

Thats just one of dozens of stories of plants and animal introduced to solve a problem and caused another one

That was beautiful :raritycry:

Thank-you Kudzu. This was a whole different level of awesome.

I KNEW IT! I KNEW THAT AT SOME POINT SOMEONE WOULD DRAFT AN SCP STORY! WELL DONE!

8052954

SCP? What does that mean?

8052960
You're kidding me... right? You used his name but you don't know the character? Alto Clef is too specific of a name to be coincidental.

8053010

The alto clef is part of musical notation, and is represented in the cover art.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clef

It means absolutely nothing else to me.

8052954 I don't even know what that is.
8053028 ... not going to lie, looks kinda stupid. Random humor does't quite suit me.

Alto Clef to me was always a notation for different music clefs

8053010 Yeah, ummm.... I don't think kudz knows anything about SCP (for the rest of you folks, look up SCP wiki).

I would guess that SCP Alto Clef was named after the music notation for treble, bass, alto, etcetera clefs, as opposed to the notation (and the pony) being named after the SCP.

Almost too adorable for mortal minds to fully comprehend.

8053048
Don't judge a book by it's cover. SCP is mainly horror.

8053053
Yeah, fair enough.

8053053
8053048

Alto Clef: the viola clef.

Has been for a very long time.

8053068 Horror? That is an EXTREMELY misleading front page you gave us.
8053072 That's why i only vaguely knew it! Only ever played Violin in Treble Clef and sung in Bass Clef. I was wondering why I had never seen the symbol before.

8053075
That was the personall page. That's the user. Not the site as a whole. Go to the front page. Look up the 3000 series contest. Prove me wrong.

8053076 SHHSH! That's what I was doing. This is odd, kinda in a info-log style of writ- Dear Lord that is a lot of shit! Man.
*Vigouresly skims*
... You know, for having that many posts, somehow Kudz has still written more, and that is amazing.
Also this is kinda tame horror, more of a suspense thing maybe, but meh...
And i will blame this on that it is a community of individuals and having a few thousand too many posts that i can't be bothered to look through right now, most of it looks pretty bad.
*3 MINUTES OF SKIMMING LATER*
Ehhh some of its okay... but yeah Kudz did NOT base it off of this.

Check the mission statement and whatnot. Makes more sense
8053098

8053118 I did. It's cool, but not something i think i'd enjoy too much,

I must say, you do quite a lovely slice-of-life. I believe that I may have told you before, but I'm confident that you'll give me reason to tell you again.

I liked this one - very fun.

Stridulating changelings are best changelings.

8053577

I agonised over using that word, but in the end I chose to keep it simple, familiar, and concise. (This whole thing comes out to a 4th grade reading level, which makes it very readable)

This one is full of the d'aww.

Let's go~ Alto! Cutie Mark City!

8054034 Readable indeed. As someone way beyond 4th grade, I can assure you I've never heard that word before.

Also, love the story. The ending was so touching I might have to press charges!

Even if apologies were offered Kudz they would not be accepted. That was wonderful.

This is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever read.:fluttercry::ajsmug: I really hope I get to read more of Honeysuckle and Alto. :twilightsheepish:

Family tree please? I've read most of the weedverse stories but I'm getting a little lost now.

8057621

Oh cripes, we need a family tree now?

Sly Pie, son of Maud and Tarnish.

Alto Clef, son of Octavia and Tarnish, done though IVF. (Donor)

Anything else I can help with? :pinkiehappy:

Neat, and really cute too.

Apologies are done when messing up. This was no mess, just so much awesome

I thought that was a Tenor Clef until I did some googling and found that an Alto Clef is a C Clef on the third line of the staff and a Tenor Clef is a C Clef on the 4th line of the staff.

I learned something today.

Brown Note! I miss The Mail Order Orphen Series. Wow that was a log time ago! :yay:

Your mother, Vinyl, she wanted to name you ‘Brown Note.’

I knew that story was a part of the Weedverse all along.

Also, does Alto Clef know that his human counterpart works for the SCP Foundation?

Why must you apologize for such a sweet and beautiful story Kudzu???
