7468224 and ghosts. The unholy cannot deal with pure materials. All three of those are also weak to Salt. A handful of thrown salt disrupts a ghost and salting and burning is how to get rid of an infestation. They are not allowed to cross salt lined placed across openings like windows and doors.

7468919 Salt isn't pure. It's a compound. Even if you consider a block of nothing but sodium chloride to be pure, such a crystal would be impossible due to thermodynamic limitations. Additionally table salt is often a mix of sodium chloride and potassium chloride (so the manufacturer can list the sodium content as lower) so a line of salt would be totally ineffective against an entity that has issues with pure materials.
