Gilda attempts to invite a friend over for a little celebration. What could possibly go wrong in this attempt to show some positive cheer for a mutual acquaintance?

I liked it. It's Nice to see some gilda love. The concept was pretty funny and very cute. It wasn't too long nor was it too short. I think the idea was just perfect for the length.

Well done.

How tragic that so few remember the great Steelfather and his tireless efforts in the field of...whatever he did. Truly, he was one of the greatest of all the griffons and we would do well to learn from his example. This paragon's greatness makes him an excellent role model for chicks to look up to. Most griffons never stop to think how different their world would be if not for Steelfather and his singular dedication to...something. Steelfather, on behalf of griffons, ponies and all the civilized peoples of Equus, we salute you.

Gilda raised a brow. "Let me guess, holiday?" She nodded. "Right there." She pointed at the same table that held her bowl of candies. "Would this holiday happen to be called Steelfather day or something?"

Since these words are in the middle of a paragraph about Gilda they mean that Gilda is nodding, but I don't think that's what you meant. You could instead say "When the other griffon nodded she said, "Right there," and pointed at the same..."

A very simple story, but cute. Gilda's rage issues seem a little magnified, but she didn't actually act on her urges, so no harm done.

6533033 Typo fixed, and spotted another lurking nearby! Thanks for reading and glad you enjoyed it. Hail Steelfather, whoever he is. Twas a shame Gilda wasn't paying attention to any of that.

6532929 Thank you for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I liked it, very strange. I think that would be nice if the griffon in formal wear was described a bit more. What form does griffon clothing take?

6533540 They have all the proper limbs. Like ponies, they can dress up if they want to. I'd argue they'd have an easier time than many ponies, having talons that work like fingers.

What would it look like aesthetically? I'm awful at aesthetics.

6533574 Typo neutralized. Glad you liked it!

This is a bit of a tangent, but Gilda's clumsy attempt at a party makes me wonder how Pinkie would behave if she were here. Would she sneakily fix things when Gilda wasn't looking? That might be a good story premise: What does the party pony do when somepony else is hosting the party, and it's not awesome?

I am quite pleased with how this turned out. An awkwardly mistaken party is a very fitting way to realize the prompt I offered. Bringing Friendship to Griffonstone was never going to go smoothly.

I doubt Pinkie would be subtle about it, at least not prior to being told off at least once.

6533810 Glad you liked it! It was your seed, and it's grown into a lovely flower for us all to enjoy.

That seems like a funny thing for a game designer to say.

6533838 I love designing systems and pieces that fit in systems smoothly. I love designing worlds and histories and how they all fit together.

Art direction? I call an artist. I know my limits.

6533870
That's funny, to me visuals are one of the most important parts of world building.

6535492 Different people approaching a task differently? Say it ain't so! Ask me what a guy is doing in a given situation and the answer comes easily, and I can say why he's there and what he's probably thinking in my fantasy world.

Then ask what he's wearing and I go blank. Not my strength.

It's a T-shirt and some pants, maybe some slacks, he works retail.

This was an excellent little piece. There are a couple errors, but the only one that really caught my attention was this:

The woman

That was pretty decent, though think you could have had a bit more fun with Gilda's anger there.

6540037 She was trying her best to not let that explode all over the situation. She's learning!

6540765 But I miss the old Gilda! :raritydespair: The one who slaps me just for saying thank you.... sigh :ajsmug:

...What? I don't have a problem! :twilightoops:

6541344 Her people need her to guide them towards the warmth of friendship, alas. Responsibilities and all that.

6533033 On this, the most holiest of holidays, all Griffons must pluck a feather from an unsuspecting victim on stealing feathers day, or what-have-you.

6618182 Aw, thanks! I'm glad to hear folks are enjoying it.

Read and upvoted.
