This was an other great chapter, of this great story. about he part about making the call, I do understand how heart crushing that it feel when you have to refuse to help someone and see how disappointed they are of about that situation when they where counting or hoping that you would help contribute on it. I feel the same way when I have to refuse to do a work so someone that admires my work, but can't drudge up the energies to do, because I am either not inspired to do it, all ready have my plate full at the moment with other works that I am doing. It makes me want to work even harder, but I can't sense I can only improve in my work flow only so much at a time and I do need time to rest. As much as I have the spirit to do work for other in thing that I love the most, I don't always have the energies to go on working like that for very long.

Soarin' narrows his eyes and looks at me. "You can see where this is going."
All too well. I look back at his atrophied legs and gulp. "The Wonderbolts show in Fillydelphia."
Slowly, he closes his eyes and nods. "Bingo."

Yeah, probably.

Calmly, I peacefully decided to serenely take his advice, because I'm tranquil like that.

Cool, halcyon, harmonious, low-key, mild, pacific, placid, reposing, slow, soothing...

Thanks to the brain scan part, I now want to start working on an essay about Bucka's area. Time to get my textbooks out of storage.

The start of the chapter was just too adorable.
It was nice and sweet and cute and all together wonderful.
Both the start and end were.
It was a nice contrast from the serious tones of last chapter, even if Soarin's comments tend to put it all in relative context.

Soarin and Spitfire's interactions prove to remain hilarious and it is nice to see Soarin and Fleet getting along.

Also, I love how Soarin describes his "didn't let it get to me" whilst staying "perfectly calm."
Somehow the words spoken and context around it don't quite add up.

And the ending... You had me hugging the story there for a moment.

It is sad to realize that with everything going perfectly for Soarin, Braeburn continues missing something more.
It isn't necessarily the focus, but even before Cloudsdale there have been numerous hints seeded throughout Brae's behaviors and his conversations with Soarin, not to mention Soar's commentary outside of the tale confirming it, that he isn't as happy as he wants to make it appear, or as Soarin wants to believe.
Love can be beautiful, but it isn't necessarily enough, especially where a lack of purpose when alone is involved.

Fillydelphia. I had been quite a bit off earlier on in the story it seems.
We more or less know what to expect to happen, what will be the cause now, or at least a reason worsened by a potential mental state at that time.
But more important than the accident itself though I wonder what will be the state of their relationship will be at that moment.

I'm not sure if it's worth pointing out but I did notice that in the second half of the story "After that" felt like it was used several times in quick succession. Not to the extend of breaking the flow or immersion, but notable.

Really good chapter. It's nice to see Soarin back at it, even in a fairly limited capacity and he really shouldn't be flying again. The doctor visit was nice and i'm looking forward to his visit with the therapist. It's also good to see Braeburn make some progress with the paparazzi. The struggle with alcohol is a nice touch as well. I also loved the tease about fillydelphia, can't wait to see what happens with that.
A little late coming to this. First week back to school for me. Luckily it's shaping up to be a great quarter to make up for a crappy summer.

Yeah the classes I'm taking are more my thing. I have a class that I've literally been waiting 3 years to take, 2 minor classes (math) in a branch that I enjo and am good at,, and a major class that uses that branch of math and is pre req for a class I really want to take.

The chapter ended pretty pleasantly. Now time to wait to see how it'll all go downhill.
