Perhaps the major thing going against their relationship was that they never really had a chance to settle down and stabilize. It's always been on shaky ground, having to move from one place to the next.
oh no what do they need to "talk" about
No, no, no, no!
good chapter.
gotta love city folk...or pegasi.
the talk should be interesting, looks like this is the start of the downward spiral.
Didn't get around to saying this sense i caught up, but i'm really enjoying the story. The storytelling is unique, I don't think i've seen that much before.

Seems to me it's been on a gradual slope down for a while. Even though there is a lot that could have been avoided, or worked through, it is all coming together now. Leading to what looks like their downfall.
Btw, Stormcloud!
I don't recall seeing this name earlier in the story...

Unfortunately, people with out a da account can't see those.
Goddamit. That cliffhanger. You're an ass, Vivid. I hate you. I hate you so much right now!
Just kidding, keep up the fantastic work! This chapter was wonderful!
Also, this song came up on the mix of Mumford and Son's new album, Wilder Mind. Pretty damn fitting, isn't it?

We'll just have to stay tuned to find out what happens!

Thanks for letting me know, jxj! It means a lot when people tell me they like it.

This response is all I've ever wanted out of my writing.
I haven't kept up with M&S as much as I should, but you're right! That's pretty bucking perfect!

This is one of those things that I've never stated explicitly, and I'm glad you're picking up on it. Thanks for being such an insightful reader, JBL.

"Stormcloud" came up a couple times, actually. You can find the scenes in chapters 6 and 13.
Also... if you really want to see the picture, drop me a message, and I can send it to you.

Ya, did i mention i suck at reading and retaining information?
I swear I'm gonna have to re-read this when it's done...

6305498. man I don't want to but I am because its my fave
6304068 the relationship never really had a chance to solidify, but I don't think it really started taking until this and last chapter

Well, let's be fair, the relationship was pretty much looking at a turning point, in our (us awesome readers) eyes around the strip club point. We all just hung on to hope, and most, if not all, of us still are to the idea that they actually work things out.
It was around braeburn's parents, specifically soarin talking to his (braeburn) dad that, likely, threw us all into a pessimistic perspective since he made that promise since we all are pretty mcuh expecting soarin's story to be a huge let down on his part.
of course,., for all we know, soarin' could still be with braeburn, which is why he is (if i am recalling correctly) looking to sell his cloud mansion and he could have done something, such as landing wrong, to break his own legs... (Though that could be big mac's doing too. But hey, I'm hoping to a positive ending here!)
then again, soarin' did totally flirt with syn at the beginning of the story... syn can also be a typical reporter, lying his ass off through out the story, blah blah blah... i think it's about time i re-read this story and try to tear it apart to figure it out...
6309825
yeah, i'm not going to join you. I've never been a fan of analyzing literature and i read stuff to get away from analyzing everything and tearing things apart (sometimes literally).
6311549
Well, to be fair, i don't generally reread stuff except to recall information i forget how things go in the story and i would like to recall the information so i don't keep getting lost.
As am example, i read the first three books of eragon, got the forth some time after, but never got around to reading it. So now I'm trying to go back through the entire thing.
I believe i mentioned I'm not a very good reader on this story recently.
So i wouldn't go as far as analyzing everything as i would be trying to understand the story as i should.
6311700 i reread stuff all the time, i found that i can enjoy the same story multiple times. For example, i've read the first three eragon books probably 3 times or so. I guess that makes sense, i tend to go back a chapter when a new one comes out.
6313256
Only problem is that it gets frustrating to me. Lol
You're so much better at this than I am. But then again I'm not really writing with a method or plan, like you are.
I really appreciate this story, as stated already. I fell in love when you cleaned a cast-iron correctly. Waaaaay back. One of the issues I have with a lot of writing on this site is the plot exists for the sake of the happy ending. Here, it's not even guaranteed. I can often predict how some stories end by the quarter-mark, particularly on here, or others that by the grace of God above, somehow actually got published.
I'm sitting on about five different theories for the ending.
I look forward to the next chapter, where my heart will be further dragged along a cheese grater. Seriously, this is like three chapters in a row I've started getting misty-eyed.
6319223
Thanks for letting me know, PW! Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you – long week at work. I'm glad you picked up on the cast-iron skillet thing, though. I sometimes wonder if people care about those little details, but I try to keep everything like that in line, and it makes me feel great when it's noticed.
The new chapter is about to go up, so... good luck with that one. Cheese grater, indeed.
Well that stung...
...a lot
Well, that chapter was absolutely too real. Also, great place to end the chapter, Syn.

I take "too real" as a compliment.
