If it's based on the author's personality, then i can see some reason for it. It would be too easy to make it better than the writer in many different ways, creating a false illusion of / for themselves.

I still greatly enjoy how natural these interactions feel, which are quite easy to get lost in. The dialogues feel dynmic and believable given the subtle descriptions of beheaviors and thoughts surrounding them, as well as the shifts in attitude and the misunderstandings in expectations. The continuity in the form of Braebun's hat ties the retellings and the interview together well, whilst the depictions of Soarin's difficulties help keep both stories distinct whilst foreshadowing the accident going to be happening still in the near future of the story.

The days Soar and Brae made count promise quite some cuteness. It's a shame the worst day is looming at the end of them.

I cannot help but wonder about the specifics of the whipped cream incident.
