First comment? Usually there's at least one before I get a chance to read a new chapter.
Found a possible typo. If not, it reads a bit awkwardly to me
And that section with the mirrors is excellent fodder for the eventual over-analysis I'm doing on the theme of reflection!

I don't know if that speaks to your speed, the timing, or a drop-off in readers. Thanks for pointing out the typo! It's fixed now.

It was weird, when I was writing towards the specific ending. But at the same time, it made the time span between the start of the story and the ending all that more precious, all that more alive. You knew how it was going to end, and it tore me up when I was writing the ending for it because I had grown really attached to the character I was writing.
More so because I was writing a character who was a background pony in the story "Pierce the Heavens" named Midnight. She was basically used as the "This is what could happen!" character in a chapter, where the Wonderbolts are in combat, and she is the only one who doesn't make it out alive. I took it upon myself to flesh her out, as well as her squad, as my first mlp fanfiction story.
I swear, I was crying at the end (And I know a lot of my readers were too) because even though we knew the ending, it was absolutely heartbreaking to read it in it's full glory.
Your story reminds me a bit of it, and I think that's why I've been binge reading it. And yet, for all the similarities, I find that you are a masterful storyteller in your own right. I've seen two characters I know and have loved from the show, shown in a different light and by the Gods I cannot help but love them all the more. I mean, with each chapter I've read I keep wanting to reach through the screen and hug Soarin, or Braeburn, because it's just so terribly heartbreaking. Heck, I think I started crying a few chapters back when Soarin pulled Brae's hat out of the closet and put it on.
I both look forward to, and dread reading the end of this story, because whatever happened to Soarin and Braeburn has to have been catastrophic. But I can't help but want to get to it, because it's building in the background that it's going to happen, this horrible thing, and I want to know what it is so badly, if only so I can share in that brief moment with the characters....
And, I'm mostly better now. Was just a nasty headcold making the rounds in my house, and it was my turn. But, I'm on the mend and went to work today! But I read up to chapter 28! And I'll likely read more over the weekend after I'm done catching up with my own writing (because Celestia knows I'm already behind what with being sick) so that I can update my own story sometime soon!
Anyway, keep up the awesome work!

Still waiting for Soarin's fear to come to light.
It's heartwarming slice of life stories like this chapter that bring a smile to my face, and the at times silly interactions between the various characters, or Soarin's experiences, that have me giggling.
Regardless of any lingering doubts, or expectations of trouble in the near future, the simple joys of life returning to a hint of normalcy, combined with the affections between friends and lovers are wonderful to experience.
I probably mentioned on multiple occasions that I believe one of the strengths of this story, on top of the inclusive 'storytelling' writing style, to be the references to, and continuation of, earlier events within Sensation, as well as its side stories.
It's great to see their resolutions or effects as the story progresses, displaying a sense of character progression and growth, as well as giving purpose to a lot of occurring events, and this chapter contained numerous examples.
From Holly, to the furniture, to Las Pegasus and the grand finale during the show to speaking with spirits.
Still I remain my paranoid self and couldn't shake the feeling that this show may have been the moment of the accident.
It's nice to be proven incorrect however.
We may be heading towards potential tragedy, granted we don't know the full picture of the eventual outcome, but for the time being, I'm happy to see Soar and Brae enjoy living together and find a way to make it work, as difficult as that may end up being, perhaps sooner than later.
I'll be looking forward to reading about the party, as well as Firestreak finally talking to Soarin.
Poor Braeburn may have his hoofs full with the wonderbolts at the party to come.
Luckily for him he'll be on more familiar grounds.
I'm not going to lie, there have been some moments this chapter where I've been quite envious of Soarin ^^
great chapter as usual.
Dat chapter word count tho... Good job!

I can totally relate on that point. It's been a heck of a ride writing this story, and I'm so grateful that people are sticking around to read it. It gives me a lot of inspiration to keep going and never compromise the quality.
And I'm also thankful for the kind comments. Knowing that my storytelling is having an effect on people is indescribable. I'll do my best to keep telling the best story I can, and whatever happens at the end of the story, I hope you find it satisfying.
7214405
Just have to keep reading to find out what happens.
I've nearly finished drafting chapter 36, and I hope it will scratch that itch!

I definitely get a little envious of Soarin', too, sometimes. Then again, he's got a lot to deal with, and I don't think I could ever trade what I have to take on his burdens.
Thanks as always for the kind words. It can sometimes be tough to balance the more action- and emotion-intensive chapters with ones like these, which is more of a return to normalcy, but I'm glad my attention to the pacing seems to be paying off. Continuity, too, is very important to me, so please point anything out if you think I've missed something.
I've nearly finished drafting chapter 36, so hopefully you won't have to wait long to find out more about the party and the conversation with Fire Streak. The latter, in particular, is something I've been thinking about since the beginning of the story, and I will do my best to deliver!

Thanks, Mix-up! I love how, every time I look, you've got a new avatar. And they all look great!

I don't try to make them longer. It just happens. I blame the sex scene.
7219506 With you writing it, I'm sure that itch will be scratch.
7219501
Truth be told, I won't truly be happy unless it ends with Braeburn in Soarin's arms. But, that doesn't mean it won't be satisfying whatever the ending is.
Not all stories have to end happily, and sometimes the most satisfying end is the one in which we shed the tears alongside the character, content to remember what had been before with longing. And honestly I expect a lot of tears to be shed by the end of this story, be they in joy or in profound sorrow has yet to be seen.
Whatever the ending, though, it will be satisfying I believe.
And, you're welcome for the comments I've made. I try and make it a habit to say nice things on stories I enjoy, because I know that when you're a writer sometimes the praise is far and few between. Especially from fellow writers.
In any event, I look forward to getting caught up once I am done with editing my current chapter buffer, but until then keep up the good work!

Another amazing chapter! And oh my, that couch scene! I especially liked that!
I'm really looking forward to reading the next chapter now. Keep up the awesome work!
7225528
I'm glad you liked the couch scene. Soarin' did, too.
7227622
I promise everything will be explained by the end of the story. But you'll have to keep reading to find out what exactly happened.
I love the locker room scene when all guys are "hitting on" Braeburn, it just made me smile. Also been awhile since we had a sex scene I feel like this is probably the last chapter where everything seems to be perfect before it all falls apart, as Braeburn is now making his homesickness known to Soarin. Ooh boy Still a great chapter really enjoyed this one. Im scared and excited to see what happens next.

Glad you enjoyed it, Stratus! I really liked writing the locker room scene. It's always fun to watch Braeburn squirm.
Hope you enjoy the next couple chapters!

Hi, Kobla! Thanks for taking a look at my story. I went back and forth several times about the tags, and at least in the case of "sad" and "tragedy," I think it would misrepresent what I'm trying to do with the story, which is to show the ups and downs and the complexities of a relationship. I hope you find some places to smile in the story, no matter how it ends.
You're probably right about the "drama" tag, though. I imagine it's earned it. Thanks for the feedback!
